Chapter 14 || Faulty

"jimin," yoona sits beside her husband, her hand rubbing his shoulder gently to provide him some comfort. "please eat something. we'll find aria. she'll be fine."

only if jimin could tell her that his sister is, in fact, fine. way better than she has ever been at home. he sighs softly, nodding as he picks up his chopsticks, taking the first bite. "is yumi still sleeping?"

"no, she woke up early today. playing or something in her room."

jimin hums at that, glancing at yoona and smiles softly, "take care of yourself and yumi. and, you don't have to listen to mom's meaningless taunts."

"hm," she chuckles, moving closer to jimin and hugs him warmly, kissing his cheek. "now eat up, mr park. you're getting late for work." she says and stands up, fixing jimin's hair  while watching him with a smile.

jimin's almost done eating when a man from the staff approaches the couple with hurried steps. bowing first, ge speaks on receiving a nod from yoona, "sir, mr park has requested for you in his study urgently."

"what happened?" jimin stands up with a frown, taking a last sip of water before fixing his eyes on the man.

"mr park didn't mention anything, sir."

jimin nods briefly, "tell him i'm coming." the man bows again, taking his leave. jimin exchanges a glance with yoona, sighing deeply as he pats her side. "i'll go see what's bugging him now. you and yumi please eat on time, okay? and don't say no to the child if she asks fir anything. just tell anyone from the staff, although i've already asked haeyun to be with yumi, and take care of her needs."

"you're going to spoil her like this." yoona shakes her head.

"love never spoils anyone." jimin smiles, kissing yoona's lips briefly and caresses her face. "i'll head to the company right after. so bye, now."

"bye, have a good day."

"you too, my love." he smiles, heading to the father's study first, seeing the man along with the manager and two assistants. he's also in call with someone, who seems to be explaining something in great detail.

as jimin enters the room, his eyes instantly fall on the computer screen, which displays a map and a red dot is blinking continuously over a particular spot. to his horror, when he skins through some words, he realises it's jeju's map. the father gestures jimin to sit down with him, and cocks up his chin toward the screen. "we've found aria's location."

jimin doesn't react instantly, staring at the map with an uncertain gaze. he clears his throat, glancing at his father, "you found her?"

"yes. she tried her best outsmart us, but unfortunately her, she's just a naive girl." mr park scoffs, "officer kang, could you please repeat your previous words?"

"we tracked her phone and interrogated a few people. a man named lim hajoon has confirmed that he saw aria in a house near the beach. she was alone yesterday, but they say she came with a man."

"a man, you hear that son?" mr park voices out in a deep, angry voice. "you were defending your sister and here she's trying to bring down own family's name."

jimin says nothing, more occupied thinking about how to help aria. he wonders why jungkook left her alone right now, when it's more than obvious that their father is doing everything in his reach to find aria and bring her back. jimin questions his decision of trusting jungkook now.

"officer kang, thank you for helping us. i'd really appreciate if you do us one last favour and bring aria back."

"ah please don't say that, sir. we work for you, after all. your words are our command." mr park laughs proudly, satisfied with the police officer's words. he returns the phone to the manager, standing up with jimin and pats jis back, "they'll bring her home soon. i hope you confront her wisely, jimin. your sister doesn't understand the language of love and leniency. remember that she ran away with, who knows which man, and might've even slept with him. you can't defend her this time."

"let her come." jimin states, checking the time and rakes a hand through his hair, leaving his father and his men in the room.

"fuck..." he curses under his breath, pulling out his phone and dials jungkook's number right away. when the call goes unanswered, it messes jimin's thoughts, cursing at himself for trusting a guy like that and letting his sister go.

although, soon jungkook's calling him back, making him sigh deeply and answer, "where are you?" he asks, getting in his car and ignites the engine.

"uh seoul. hyung called me and said that dad needs me for something. what happened?"

"where's ari? why the fuck would you leave her alone?! dad's men have found her location and they're going to ger her."

"what?" jungkook sounds confused, "but there's no way anyone would know where we're staying."

"not we, jungkook. her. you left aria alone all while knowing that everything is still very fresh and our family is trying to find her." jimin grits out. "i swear to god if anything happens to her, even a single tear leaves my sister's eyes, i'll fucking make regret."

"hyung, i love her. you trust me, don't you? you let her go with me—"

"yes, and i'm regretting it. you wouldn't leave her alone in a new place, knowing that there are people looking for her. and why are you even going home? didn't you run away with aria?"

"yes, i did. and i still want to be with her, hyung. it's just... i can't just leave my family behind. mom, dad, and tae hyung... he's be broken if he comes to know that i'm the one with whim his fiancee ran away."

jimin stops breathing for a second, frowning as jungkook's words sink in. shaking his head, jimin releases a breath, tears blurring his eyes, thinking of sister who made a mistake falling for this guy. not just her, even jimin ended up putting faith in jungkook.

"you do realise that ari left her family for you, right? she went against dad for you, and if he brings her back, i don't even know what will happen with her... all for you, jungkook. my ari risked all of her life for you, goddamnit!"

"please don't say that, hyung. i was going to talk to her a—"

"shut up. just fucking shut up. y'know what, just carry on with your life, be a good son, a good brother after you've wrecked my sister's life. she trusted you— she fucking loved you." jimin says, grinding his teeth in anger, "you don't deserve any of it. you don't deserve ari."

"hyung, i'm so—"

jimin hangs up with that, groaning in frustration as he hits the steering, accelerating dangerously fast, while at the same trying to contact aria's number. it's unreachable like the past two days.

"miss park aria?" the officer asks, eyeing the girl from head to toe then at his phone, confirming that she is indeed the sane girl he's here for.

"uh, sorry, who are you?" aria gulps, not opening the door any wider than necessary.

"your father has asked us to bring you home."

aria's eyes widen in shock, as she shakes her head, "i don't know what you're talking about." she says, trying to shut the door, but the man inserts his foot in between and pushes it open. "you cannot just enter my house! get out!"

"we need to take you back to your father. please cooperate with us, miss. we don't wanna force you." he says, sounding rather polite with the threat that makes aria take a step back from the tall, uniform clad men.

"please leave. i'm not going anywhere with you." she states, however the man sighs, gesturing his other officer to get her. it makes aria scream and struggle against his tight grip, thrashing around in hope to be set free.

"leave me!" aria cries, getting hold of a vase from the side and smashes it on the man's muscular arm, earning a glare. his hand lifts up in the air, landing harshly on the side of aria's face, making her sob with pain, thrown on the floor in front of his legs. "please let me go... i don't wanna go back..."

"mr park," the name makes her look up, not even breathing for the moment as she stares at the forst man, talking on the phone. "she's throwing a fit, sir. just smashed my officer with a vase."

"no no no, please... don't take me back..." she whispers, holding back her sobs even though tears stream down her face. "please..."

"yes, sir. we'll get her."

the call ends and the officer sighs, gesturing his men to bring aria to the car. she screams and protests against the harsh hands, dragging her out of the beautiful house that was suppose to hold her memories with jungkook. she's pushed down the stairs on the porch, hitting her head on the stony pavement toward the drive. the men have mercy for her, ignoring her cries and constant hits to free herself, as they drag her forcefully to the car.

she's made to sit in the car with her hands cuffed behind her back, as though she was a criminal. she protests for a while, trying to reach for the door or hit the window, but the men either side of her just quiet her down with a tight slap, making her mouth bleed from the side. the ride back to seoul is a long one, and aria can see there's no way she can escape anymore, not when these officers don't even stop anywhere.

aria sits quietly, tears flowing from her eyes, staring out of the window, wondering where jungkook might be. did he get caught too? he must be worried about her.

in a few hours, aria can tell the familiarity of her surroundings, her heartbeat racing as they approach closer to the mansion. her father's going to kill her today. even jimin won't be able to save her.

"i've sent a driver for yumi. he'll take her home." jimin mutters, massaging his temples.

"oh? uhm okay. i'm sorry, jimin, did something happen? did yumi do something?" yoona asks, a bit scared and jimin can tell why.

"no. dad found aria. they're bringing her home. i don't want yumi to see whatever happens when ari gets home. it's gonna be messed up."

"they found her? is she okay? where was she?"

"she's fine." jimin hushes out, "just please send yumi back."

"yeah, okay. don't worry." she hums, "you should try to come home soon. it'll be better if you're here."

"i'm on my way." jimin says, "i'll hang up now, baby."

"please drive safely, okay?"

jimin hums to that before hanging up and takes a deep breath, hoping that he can reach before they bring aria home. he talked to taehyung, just to check if he knows anything going on. but no, taehyung and the rest of his family are clueless about the drama currently taking place with the park's, and well, the kim's younger son. taehyung sounded excited about the wedding and even asked jimin how aria was doing, if she was okay or not, for she hadn't replied to his texts nor called back even after he left a few missed calls.

jimin had nothing to say in response, but tried to dismiss it by saying that she wasn't really feeling well. mentally, he could only curse at taehyung's younger brother, who thought it was okay to just play with aria like that. taking her away from her family, making huge promises and assuring her that he would never leave her, that they would live a beautiful life away from everyone else, peacefully. jimin wants to end jungkook for lying to aria, for breaking her trust, for putting her in a situation with no returning back.

their father is not going to show any mercy on aria this time, and it's all because of jungkook's carelessness. his lies, false hopes and promises.

jimin takes a sharp turn, almost hitting the curb of the pedestrian, but makes the turn safely, only stopping when he's right in front of  the mansion gate. there's already a black police jeep occupying the front space, making jimin's breath hitch. he unfastens the seatbelt hastily, gesturing a driver to park the car properly, while he rushes inside the mansion.

there are more people than he had imagined, his father's manager, assistants, four police officers, the mother and yoona. thankfully, jimin doesn't see yumi around. apart from all the faces, jimin's eyes ache for his sister's when he hears her voice, sobbing and already apologizing for running away.

she's on the floor as if someone pushed her. the side of her mouth has dried blood, bruises on her forehead and cheekbone, some on her arms too, and her hair is a mess. tears well jimin's eyes too, hating that he has to see his little sister this way. although, before he steps forward to help her, his father's loud voice makes him flinch, gasping in shock while aria screams in pain, lowering her head nails scratching the marble she's on.

"dad!" jimin yells, pushing the father away, ignoring the belt in his hand. "stop it! she's your daughter!"

"she fucking dared to run away!" mr park shouts, yanking the girl away from jimin and slaps her hard, "what is it that you don't understand, huh? you thought you could just runaway and ruin my name out in the world? park aria, if you can't already tell, i'll make it clear onec again that i never wanted a daughter! but since your mother didn't want to abort you, i have to deal with your nuisance every now and then." he grits out, crouching down to grip the daughter's hair harshly, making her shut her eyes in pain, holding his hand over, hoping to loosen his grip.

"leave her." jimin glares at the father, hand clenching around his wrist. mr. park frowns at him, but lets go of aria.

"she ran away, jimin. how can you still support her?" mr park lets out, "she needs to be punished and shown her place, so that the next time an idea like this one crosses her mind, she wouldn't dare acting on it."

"you're crazy, aren't you?" jimin hisses, "blind after your big name in the market, that you can't even see your own doughter hurting. why do you think she ran away in the first place? obviously because she doesn't feel at home here. it's where she grew up, but never lived. i wanna fucking burn this mansion down, dad, when i can't remember anything about ari here. ever since she was born you've never made her life easier. i know she doesn't even remember half of it because she was too young, but i do... and let me tell you that if i were her, i'd run away too."

hearing that makes aria sob more, lowering her head on the floor, crying in her own arms, when she feels a pair of warm hands on her back. it's not jimin, for he's still in front of their father, blocking him from reaching aria. it couldn't be their mother either, because she wouldn't dare moving from her place until her  ranging husband ordered her to. the staff wouldn't dare to help aria either.

it's yoona.

aria sniffles, rubbing her eyes as she looks up, not at the elder girl, but her brother. she raises her hand slowly, whimpering in pain as more tears course down her face, but manages to touch jimin's leg with trembling hands. it feels like her arm is going to fall off. it hurts like hell. jimin glancing down instantly, ignoring the father and kneels down near aria, wrapping his arms around her.

"nobody will hurt you, okay?" he assures, rubbing her back. "oppa's here with you, ari. don't be scared."

"i'm sorry..." aria mumbles out, followed by silent tears as she meets jimin's soft gaze, "oppa, i'm sorry..."

"it's not your fault." jimin says, sparing a brief glance to his side where their father still stands. "get up. yoona, take her upstairs." the wife nods quickly, helping aria up. although, she's stopped just as fast, by aria's wince and mr park telling her to leave the girl alone.

"you're just being emotional, jimin. your sister, unfortunately, isn't that simple. she's a brat and doesn't get anything straight." mr park scoffs, "leave her, yoona. she needs to face the consequences of her actions."

"not on my watch." jimin voices out firmly, "yoona, take her upstairs. now."

without a word, yoona helps the girl up, holding her carefully for support, but it still doesn't keep aria from whimpering in pain, holding her arm. despite all the hurting and dried blood here and there, aria stands up slowly, stumbling to be on her feet as she holds jimin's arm, shaking her head for him to not say anything.

"go, ari." he says softly.

"please, oppa... don't..." she pleads, dropping more tears as she begs him virtually to not say anything to their father, knowing that even if he listens to jimin right now, later he is going to teach her a lesson if he wants. and he looks determined this time.

"you don't need to be scared, kiddo. i'm here to—"

"no no, please. you don't understand, jim..." she cries silently, hugging him tightly with one arm, keeping the other one undisturbed. it still feels like she's going to lose the arm. "please, there's no use."

"listen to her, jimin." the father says, stepping forward and grabs aria's aching arm, earning a loud cry from her instantly. jimin glares at the father, trying to get his sister free, but the man gestures his men to clear his way. now the police officers and the assistants, hold jimin out of the way.

mrs park, too, places her hand on jimin's shoulder, trying to calm him down, as he yells at the father, who's dragging his daughter up, unbothered by her tears and cries for help.

by the time jimin is freed, tears welling his eyes, as he sprints upstairs, calling out for their father. however, unfortunately the door of aria's room is locked and mr park is inside with her. "open the fucking door!" jimin shouts, hitting the door, "what kind of father are you?! don't you dare hurt her park minjun, i'm gonna get this door down!" he yells, looking over toward his mother and wife, and the rest of the staff and the police officers. "fine." jimin mutters, kicking on the wooden frame with all his strength, frequently using his shoulder and arm strength to push against the door, which is when the sound of something breaking enters his ears. it's not the door, but something inside the room.

"fucking bastard!" jimin growls and continues trying to break the door, which eventually loosens the hinges and with a final kick, jimin manages to get it down. aria's against the wall, on the floor. mr park is the guitar, broken. aria's bleeding, crying, hurting, and most of all her eyes are drooping close now.

"you're not a father..." jimin grits out, pushing the man away, almost throwing a punch at his face, when his mother and wife step in time, holding his arm to save the action.
