1.6 - Good for Nothing

Right now we both are sitting inside the car with our party clothes and make up.

Going to a party for a mission indeed means some fun right?

But I absolutely hate my dress, I basically have a slit around my leg and toothpick shoes on— I don't think I can even move around freely, let alone have a fight with drug dealers.

On the other hand, Taehyung is looking the best in his tuxedo.

How can a man literally look so beautiful and ethereal?

More awesome than me or even the girls of whole universe like wow.

His cologne captures my mind like the sky is filled with fog, but for me its breathtakingly euphoric. The boy beside me can't be described in words.

The atmosphere in the car is dull— surprisingly or not, none of us have uttered a single word after entering the car. My reason of not starting a conversation is related to Taehyung's nervousness— he is way too nervous so I prefer giving him his space.

"We are arriving in 5," The driver declares as we both turn our head towards the driver at the same time.

I sigh and straighten myself up. Holding the drawer that is present in my front, it opens with a loud tick as I search for the right weapon which is basically my ideal one.

The only one that accompanies me to each and every mission even if it is not really needed.

My silver dagger.

I hang it along with my knives and tuck them inside my tights on the side which is not on show. I hate this dress even more now— I can't even keep extra weapons because of it's exposing fit.

My mind being involved in the weapons— I actually forget the presence of the boy for a mere second as when I feel Taehyung's gaze at me, I glance back at him.

"Have these," I show him some other weapons and allow him to choose on his own that he thinks can come handy and he can use carefully and perfectly.

After a couple of minutes, our destination— the Namsun tower arrives in the front as it gets clearer and more clearer every second we move towards it.

"Keep that, just in case, you know."

I grab the big box from the drawer and hand it over to Taehyung who seems to be having an internal debate over the content that is inside the big wooden thing.

"Earpiece is okay, but poison?"

His eyes widens once he opens the lid and grabs the small pills out of the box with a black device. Immediately adjusting the device in his ear, Taehyung whisper shouts as his eyes sparkles with fear that a small kid feels when he gets to witness the face of a clown for the first time.

"If you feel like it is the end, I don't think it really is required but well you can't expect anything from fate right?"

I try to explain but once the look doesn't fade away from his face, I throw the topic away and start discussing about my plan.

"Now listen. First, stick together with me at all costs that means don't walk out of my sight. Second, don't eat anything, if someone forces you then it is a complete no-no. Third, if you feel someone is doubting your identity, act your best and prove that you are one of those stupid rich ass guys that are ruined 'cause money is life."

He nods to everything that I explain without interruption.

"And please, don't drink, especially alcohol," I plead.

The last time, I remember the recruit got totally wasted and I had to complete his whole mission. After that he was thrown out of the organization.

No professionalism? There is no need for you to stay here.

But it is rarely a case that someone is forced out of his job. Once someone steps inside the organization, then there is almost no turning back and if someone really wants to then there are a number of processes that the person has to go through like cleaning the memories and what not which is utterly painful.

"Got it," With a small nod, when driver informs us that its time to get out now, we do so with richness and etiquettes pouring out of our each and every action. Everyone thinks that we are high class couple but gosh they don't even have an idea of what type of troubles we are.

Soon when we enter the party hall, we are met by galvanized and recalcitrant crowd. Everyone are so into each other, not giving a single ounce of attention to those who specially are coming all the way from outside to greet them.

Couples are rubbing off their wealth in each others faces as men are eye rapping every girl who just passes from their side.

In all, everything is suffocating that I literally want to run away from such a horrible place.

But not now Goeun, you have to save a family at all cost.

"I will go check up the place."

Taehyung gloriously grabs a glass of champagne from the waiter as I send him a short glare. He winks at me and murmurs 'just acting'.

I hope he sticks to those words.

So when I feel like I am now left all alone in the horrible crowd, I make my way towards the bar and settle myself on the stool. Considering I will not go for alcohol at all costs, I order a simple orange juice.

The bar tender is a quiet, sober girl. She comes back with a glass filled with the liquid that I have ordered and places it right in front of me. I don't think it is drugged or something, but better use my skills for reassurance.

I glance up at the girl's expressions— her face is neutral, just like how it was before. My gut feeling says that the drink is safe but I should not be careless.

Then I stare at my drink.

"Continue on, this ain't drugged."

A man slides on the stool beside me as I glance at him from my peripheral vision. Looking at him with my deadly looking eyes will probably scare him off or if he has the guts then may be he can be someone who is worth it— I mean in sharing information about the dealers.

"After all it is my party and I need to see if each and every guest is enjoying themselves or not."

Wait.

If this party is held by him then that means, is he one of those drug dealers?

I seriously can't believe I am right. The person or basically our target is the one who is sitting beside me and happily trying to socialise with his death god.

The prey himself has stepped inside the predator's radar.

I want to smirk so badly, Taehyung should be grateful towards me now.

"Tell me about you," I initiate the talk as he peeps back at me with sheepish eyes.

He is seriously good for nothing.

"I am, well you can look at how grand the party is," He raises his right arm as his eyes wanders around the hall, probably praising his own self in his mind.

"Look at everyone and understand how rich I am."

"I didn't ask about your richness. I said who are you," I reform my question as he turns his face towards me and sending me a knowing smile, he winks. Not like those kind ones, it is actually a bit scary— like he is well aware of my intentions or he thinks that I am way too interested in him.

But believe me dude, you can't even be compared with the dust of my shoes.

"Cheers."

He raises his glass for a cheer— his glass shines with the same liquid as mine. I grab mine in a flash as my glass's metal comes in contact with his, producing a soft sound.

"I am Chanwoo. Chanwoo Lee."

I am right.

He is the leader.

Considering his nature and personality, his right and left hands must be a piece of cake as well. Chanwoo is overflowing with sluggishness, I don't think he can even get up after getting drugged by me.

Should I take him to a room?

But why is my head spinning?

I hope it is just my imagination.

No way in the hell my drink got drugged.

Right?

But the man sitting in front of me catches my somewhat giddy actions, a smirk plants on his lips as he grabs my hand.

"I will lead you, dear."

While signalling behind his back, I move to a side to check the direction he is pointing at— I blink my eyes rapidly to clear the blurriness that is forming in front of my eyes all of a sudden.

"But where?" I question while continuously shaking my head again and again to clear my vision.

Why is this happening right now?

"Come on, otherwise you won't be able to stand. I don't mind carrying you there in my arms, but it is good if the first one is the option you choose."

I just nod and try to get up on my legs that are super wobbly— I immediately have to grab Chanwoo's arm for support.

A feeling of uneasiness starts attacking my body as a pair of eyes digs holes in my figure from a distance but my mind is totally out of my control.

In no time we enter a dimly lighted room as he leads me towards the bed and stretches around— finally loosening his tie slowly. I can feel his skin glistening with sweat as he nearly rips his shirt off his body.

He is feeling unwell, I can see that.

While he is doing whatever he is doing, I take the time to look around the room and check out my surroundings. A number of mirrors and large drawers are near the bedside as Chanwoo opens one of them and takes out something from a red box.

Ugh, focus on the name Goeun.

Wow that is the protective covering.

He really is good for nothing.
