Part 39

Alex managed to escape from his driver's view before he drove off to Shan's in one of the company's car. He could feel his heart thumping in his chest rapidly as he closed on Shan's streets. His hand gripped on the steering wheel tight turning his knuckles white.

Images of Henry replayed in his mind on how many times he had fooled him. His scars, his fears, all coming from one place that Alex sure off, Broadmoor. All this time he had known Henry and all the lies he had told him about himself felt like a knife stabbing his heart over and over from the betrayal.

Alex car stopped right at Shan's doorway before he barged right at the door and slammed his fist on the wooden board. He tapped on the doorbell repeatedly to gain attention before the door swung opened revealing Zahra maddening face.

"What the fuck is wrong with you asshole!" She screamed at him but Alex rolled his eyes at her before he pushed past her through the entrance. "I need to talk to your husband!" Alex says lowly scanning the entire house for him.

"What's gotten into you? Barged in people's home unannounced and acted like you own the place!" Zahra pulled his arm back stopping Alex from moving further but he smacked his arms away from her grip.

"Zahra I did a lot worst and a lot scarier than this. Do not test me! Now get me your fucking husband!" Alex yelled right before Shan stepped into the living room with a small towel hanged on his shoulder.

"What's this about? You have no right to barge in here and yelled at my wife Alex." Shan's voice was calmed but his eyes are filled with rage for Alex's sudden intrusion into their home.

But it didn't take Alex seconds to react. He stepped forward grabbing Shan by his collar and slammed him directly into the wall next to him.

"When are you gonna tell me that Henry Fox is living with me after all this time you bastard?!" Alex words seethed through his teeth. "ALEX! STOP!" Zahra yelled behind him but Alex refused to listen to her.

"Calm down." Shan was never scared of Alex or his temper. For years of working and watching him grow into a man he regretted to say he'd care about had done nothing to provoke fear in his heart.

"I ain't gonna calm until you tell me the truth! Why didn't you tell me it was him? Why did you hide the truth from me?!" Alex yelled gripping Shan's collar tighter with his fist.

"Because of this." Shan says pushing Alex's hand off from clothing on his collar. He pushed him by his chest further away from him.

"This, obsession of yours in finding June!" Shan shoved Alex by his chest again pushing him back against the wall.

"Henry is not some toy you wanted to play around with Alex! He's a human being and using him to find June? I won't allow it." Shan could feel his heart racing in his chest as he shoved Alex further back.

"That's not the reason for you to hide this from me!" Alex shoved back.

"Stay away from him Alex. Now that you know. Stay the fuck away from him!" Shan's jaw clenched tightly at him and Alex had his fist balled up on his side.

"No. I made a promise to June that I'm gonna find her and Henry is the only person in this world that could help me. So I don't care what you're gonna say Shan. I'm getting her back, dead or alive, I'll get her home." Alex could feel his hands shakes from the anger building up inside of him.

It wasn't just the fact that Shan lied to him but the truth is, he had the chances of bringing June back all these times right in front of him and he missed it. He missed every chances cause everyone around him hides the truth from him.

"Alex listen to me-"

"No! I'm done listening to you or anyone!" Alex turned headed towards the front door when Shan stopped him again.

"Alex you do this, you'll lose him, forever." Shan warned but Alex couldn't even bothered to to face him again and instead, he twisted the doorknob opened and left without a word.

.

"Is he alright?" Nora suddenly asks Henry as he finished clearing the table after their last customers left. Henry looked up to see where she pointed at and noticed Cash pacing outside the store with his phone pressed on his ear. He wasn't talking but his eyebrow crooked like he was into some deep conversation with someone.

"No idea." Henry shrugged later continued to flip the chair over the table. Nora sighed tapping Henry on his shoulder before she headed to the door. The bell chimed as the door opened and closed and Henry saw she was standing right in front of Cash with her small frame barely reaching Cash's shoulder.

Henry watched from inside the store, Nora's crossing her arms around her stomach hiding the coldness before he decides to continue cleaning up for closing. The rest of the staffs had left leaving Nora and him with Cash to finish the final cleaning like usual.

Henry accidentally dropped few of the sugar packs he collected on the table and sighed. He crouched, collecting each one of the packs before he straightened his back again when he felt someone standing right behind him. Henry turned around and gasped when he saw the older gentleman from earlier standing right before him and surprised how he missed the sound of the door bell chimed.

"Sir, you scared me. I'm so sorry, but we're closing." Henry says placing his hand over his chest trying to calm his frantic heart down.

Henry noticed when William didn't say anything but kept smiling back at him. His eyes filled with glistening tears and his skin was rather paler than earlier.

"Sir?" Henry called feeling the awkwardness between them. He could see behind William's shoulder, Nora and Cash still talking with each other outside of the store before he turned his gaze back at William.

"Do you need anything sir? How did you get here anyway? Didn't the owner told you the store is closed?" Henry asks tilting his head behind William's shoulder again when he realized William still standing frozen with that smile on his face.

"Sir?" Henry called again when he didn't get his answer but later he watched how William slowly raised his palm cupping Henry's cheek.

Henry gasped at the coldness hitting his skin when he felt that familiar sharp pain inside his chest stabbing him deeply.

"No- no, it can't be- no, no-" Henry mumbled when he realized that William was not actually standing before him but rather his soul.

"I just want to thank you my dear boy." He starts keeping his palm over Henry's cheek.

"After I talked to you, I realized something. I missed my family so much. After what you've told me, I couldn't bare to go back to my empty home, surrounded by nothing but memories." Tears building up in Henry's eyes when he heard William's word ignoring the fact that his chest is burning in fire.

"You didn't-" Henry whispered trying not to think about William's reason for death but he couldn't deny the feeling he had, the pain he felt upon William's touch.

"I'm alright now. I just want to say goodbye. You reminded me so much of my boy." William pat Henry's cheek softly before he lowered his hand on his side again. Henry could feel the whole room starts to spin but he held on to the table next to him for support trying to shake the feeling of pain stabbing him between his eyes and chest.

"I'm so sorry." Henry whispered in a harsh breath but William shook his head at him. "Nonsense my dear boy. Thank you for everything." He smiled one last time before tapping Henry on his shoulder and Henry could see him starts to fade.

The moment William dispersed from Henry's sight, he finally felt the sharp pain was released, causing him to stumble and fell on his knees to the ground. He coughed violently feeling warmth running through his forehead and his nose when he heard the doorbell chimed.

"Hen, I think Alex is- Oh God, Henry!" Nora screamed for him when he saw Henry kneeling on the floor clutching on his chest in a coughing fit.

"CASH!" Nora yelled for Cash still standing outside the store and seconds later another chimed was heard and Henry could feel another pair of arms clutching on his side.

"Jesus, what happened?" Cash asks pulling Henry from hunching over the floor when he noticed blood starts trailing down from Henry's nose. "Henry, what the hell happened?" Nora pressed on him to answer her when Cash felt Henry swayed on the floor before Cash helped steadying him. His hand clutched on Cash's palm trembling with coldness before he replied.

"He's g-gone." Henry whispered earning Nora a furrowed look. "Who?" She asks sternly confused by Henry's words.

"William." Henry finally let himself free and fell on Cash's lap with blood trickling down on his mouth and chin. Cash could see the furrowed look on Nora's face drop when she heard this guy's name. He stared at Henry's weaken state right over his lap panting over catching his breath.

"It can't be. We just saw him." She whispered but Henry sighed swallowing his throat dry before he nods at her.

"He k-killed hims-self. He c-can't handle being al-lone." Henry stuttered before he broke into another coughing fit.

"Can someone just fucking explain who the fuck is William and should we bring you to hospital Henry?" He pushed Henry off his lap to face him with horror filled his eyes. Henry's nose running with blood trickling down on his thick lips down on his chin.

Henry shook his head trying to raise himself from leaning against Cash's lap but failed. "N-No. I'm alright. I just need a minute." Henry says pulling himself towards the counter leaning himself back against the wooden wall.

Both Cash and Nora sighed desperately staring at Henry grabbing the tissue from above his head by the counter and started wiping the blood on his face.

"Henry this never happened before. Maybe we should get you checked." Nora suggest but as usual, Henry dismissed her by shaking his head.

"No, it's fine. It happens sometimes when it's too closed." Henry says pressing the tissue over his nostril causing his voice changed to a squeaky one.

"What's too close?" Cash ask looking back and forth between Nora and Henry.

"Death." Henry replied shortly before breaking into another coughing fit.

It took him some amount of time to actually stopped bleeding over Nora's floor before he could gained his strength again. He was no longer on the floor but rather on a chair,  hunching on his thigh with his head hung low to reduce his dizziness when he remembered Nora said something about Alex earlier.

"Owh, you were saying something about Alex. What is it?" He asks tossing the bloody tissue on the table before him when Nora sat up from her chair across from him. Cash sat by the table next to them in between Henry and Nora when his gaze turned abruptly towards her.

"Uhm- nothing. Just that he couldn't make it to pick you up. Cash will sent you home." Nora says dismissively. Henry retorts but couldn't care less cause the headache and the pain in his chest is still lingering and he had hoped to go home and rest before he collapsed.

But somehow deep down he could see Cash contemplate, seeking Nora's eyes for attention but soon obeyed cause Nora started hissing at him from asking more questions. Henry could feel his body swayed when he stood but Cash was quick enough to hold him down from falling over the table.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" Henry asks turning away from the door to face Nora still standing by the table with her arm crossed over her chest and that furrowed look still linger between her eyebrows. She faked a smile nodding her head at him before waving him goodbyes.

.

"Cash?" Henry called as he was leading the hallway for him and stopped to face Henry behind him. "Yep?" He asks.

"Where exactly is Alex?" Henry asks the million dollar question causing Cash to sigh longly at him. They both stood in the middle of the hallway heading towards Alex's loft when they both stopped.

"Honestly, I don't know. He told us he went to the office and later he disappeared driving the car to God knows where." He explained.

"Driving? Doesn't his driver drove him there today?" Henry asks leaning his shoulder over the wall next to him to prevent him from falling.

"He did. Then he ditched him. Now we couldn't find him." Cash could see his words made Henry straightened his posture again. "You and Nora are headed back out to find him didn't ya? That's what you guys were discussing about back at the store?" Henry asks stepping few steps closer towards Cash. His head hung low unable to face Henry in his eyes when he felt him stood only few inches away from him.

"I wanna come with you guys." Henry offered but Cash lifted his gaze back at him in shock. "Absolutely not! Alex won't forgive me if anything happened to you! Plus after what happened today, I don't think I want you anywhere away from that door!" Cash pointed at the door at the end of hallway signing at Alex's loft.

"But-"

"No but Henry! Please. I can't protect you both like this. Stay inside and don't ever come out until Alex walked through that door, alright?!" Cash yelled at Henry before he turned himself around to head to Alex's loft.

"Cash." Henry called turning himself back towards him still standing only a few feet away from him. Henry stepped closer grabbing the key from his fingers before rested his palm over Cash's shoulder.

"Bring him home safe okay? I'll be fine here. I promise I won't go anywhere until you both got home." Henry says gripping the key in his palm firmly.

Cash let out an air out of his nose sighing in relief before he nods. He watched Henry turned the key into a slot smiling weakly at him. He stares at Henry's pale tired face trying to forget the image of blood running through his face few moments earlier.

Henry stares at Cash walking back into the hallway and disappeared into the elevator with a small wave of goodbye before he decides to enter the apartment.
