Chapter 2
"My lady, why did you even leave without informing us all? You could've been gravely injured without anyone accompanying you! Please, never do this again. Additional to these, Sir Yuki also told me about your.. sadistic tendencies," your butler finished, finally done with scolding you like the 'mother' that he was. At his last sentence, you grew rigid.
Sadistic.. tendencies?
And your eyes widened once you finally realized what he meant. 'Ah! That time after tricking the criminals.. He must've heard me even though I just muttered all of those things that I've said.'
Cue the flashback.
Once out of your sight, you just lightly laughed as you complimented yourself inwardly for being able to make that great of a plan out of a whim. "Thinking that they were off the hook, only to experience their freedom being taken away once their relief sets in.. Ah~ Just imagine the looks on their crestfallen expressions. It's so unfortunate that I wouldn't be able to witness it.." You paused, before continuing, a much wider smirk on your lips, "I couldn't think of a plan more cruel than this." You muttered before finally turning around, ready to head towards the Metropolitan Police Department to ease your way in back at the job you've always dreamed to have.
Back to the present.
Your hands slid down your face in distraught, strings of curses flowed through your mind as you recklessly showed 'that' side of yours again. Meanwhile, Kambe just looked at the whole ordeal with amusement swirling around his eyes. Clicking your tongue at him, you turned to your your butler, "Alright alright, Sir Tanaka. You may now take your leave," and as you said that, your words were immediately followed, leaving you with Kambe all alone in the premises of your extraordinarily large living room.
"Well, that was quite a sight to see," he said with that condescending tone that you hated with all your might. "Stop yapping," you grumbled as you sunk down on your couch, your irritation slowly seeping out of you due to how comfortable the cushion was. Well, until that damned male open his mouth to speak again.
"And who would've thought that a lady such as yourself would be an extreme sadist," and with that, you were quick to defend your self from that unfortunately true accusation. "What?! I'm not a sadist for hell's sake. Yuki was just trying to make me look bad again," and you crossed your arms as your mind drifted off to the events that happened earlier.
"Oi. I heard from my informant that you threw your money once again to fix all the damage you caused. You do know that money isn't going to solve anything," you berated him with one side of your lips tugging upwards. "You're saying that as if you didn't use cash to get into your job as discreet as possible so that Sir L/n wouldn't know about it." And he threw that back at you making you flinch.
"Tsk. Touché," was what you only said under your breath before silence overtook you two, as if the both of you didn't know what to exactly say to the latter. "I'm just glad that you weren't hurt," and with his words came your widened eyes once more. Furrowing your eyebrows, you crossed your legs before propping your elbow on it. Leaning your cheek against your enclosed hands, you stared at him with a look of contempt. Is he really using his words to try and make you fall for him? Hah! As if that would actually work when you disliked the dude ever since you saw him.
"You've been acting like that ever since you saw me. That's so unlike you that it's starting to make me feel the shivers," you finalized what you've said with a chuckle. He rose an eyebrow at you. "I'm just feeling anxious because of your reckless actions. Am I prohibited from feelings as such even though I'm you're fiancé?" Oh, and it looks like he cornered you once again with his questions. Damn. He's good at this game.
"Oh please, this soon marriage of ours is only because of our parents. It's not like we actually have feelings with each other," you sighed, glad that you answered his question as greatly as you could. "It's quite hilarious to see how you're so sure with your mere speculations," he retorted back at you making you narrow your eyes at him.
"What do you mean? It's true that our parents were the one who arranged all of this?" You threw him back a question, quite confused with what he was saying. Was there something wrong with your statement just awhile ago? Or was he doing this to make you feel as disgruntled as possible. With how the man is, you suppose that it would be the latter. Kambe just shook his head at you. 'This oblivious girl,' he thought.
"H-Hey. Why are you shaking your head like that as if I've stated something incorrect," and you just wanted to slap yourself on the face for even stuttering in front of this man. "That's because that is the case."
"What did I even do! Gosh, all of this is making my head ache." You raked your hands through your hair before closing your eyes momentarily. Though once you opened them again, he was immediately in front of you. "What are you planning to do, Kambe?" You asked, suspicious of him.
Leaning in closer, his lips landed on your forehead, making your thoughts blank out. 'What? What did he do? Just what the heck is going through this man's mind?' And even though your thoughts were like that, red flushed out through your face as if your face was made of wood and fire was lit making heat continuously spread on your whole cheeks.
"I've heard from before that kissing the place where it hurts makes the pain go away," was what he only said before finally stepping backwards. Once seeing your face as red as a tomato, a smile was now plastered on his face, contented with how he made you react. He was now walking away, making your eyes follow his form.
"What the hell are you planning to do now?!"
"I have some urgent matters to attend to. Or, do you want me to just cancel them so that you could spend time with me?" There it goes again, he just loved to tease the hell out of you. "Oh please, I'd appreciate it more if you were to leave my sight in a flash."
And just before he was able to completely make his exit, he stopped, making you turn your head towards him, wary if he was scheming something once again.
"Just call me Daisuke."
Was his last words before finally fully departing. The heat on your face seemed to never cease, and it just prompted you to pinch the bridge of your nose, mind drifting off to how he was able to make you feel such emotions with just those dialogues and movements of his.
Man, you really dislike that male.
