"Your claws are huge." I said incredulously while running my fingers along slender nails of a were-tigress. Satine now in her human form and miraculously fully dressed when she transformed right in front of me, let me hold them as we sat at their dining table. Soft, warm hands with red hairs on her fingers that were faint and barely visible unless you were looking for them as I was. I was searching for some flaw that gives away her true divine creature and found none of it on her hand except for the nails she calmly lengthened like a cat. They are white, long and oddly hook shaped not to mention they look positively demonic on her human fingers. Any normal woman would have been too afraid to touch them and while I did faint for a minute, touching them doesn't really seem to disturb me. They inspire me, I believe they're most beautiful claws I have ever seen in my life. Even with a few broken and chipped they are terrifyingly spectacular. "What happened to those ones?" I asked.

"Vampires." She said her green glinting like emeralds. The she sipped her hands under the table into her lap straightening her burgundy dress. The act brought my attention to dark patches on the material which made something in my gut twist tight into a knot. Blood. But who's?

"Vampires? The soulless pale faces that drink blood also exist?" I'm a little overwhelmed of how she can say it so calmly.

"Yes." They all said in unison.

"Werewolves, demons, werecats, now vampires?" I leaned back into my chair fell nauseous. What would Sam think? What if he knew? He has that superb sense of smell he must know. Whatever led me to think about him at this moment? I shook my head as if I could simply shake him out and forget him. He and Alpha make it too difficult to forget.

Marilyn chuckled. "Luna there are plenty more mythical creatures out there." She walked towards the arch window and gazed out of it dwelling in her own thoughts.

"Oh..." I feel almost inferior to know so little, compared to all they seem to live with and treat as if it is nothing. "So repeat again you were made by four ancient Gods."

"And cursed by two others." Val sniped lingering in the corner.

"Pan the God of the Wild, Aphrodite the Goddess of Beauty, Athena the Goddess of wisdom and Hephos... Hepha..."

"Hephaestus God of fire and blacksmith to the Gods." Val finished as she poured the wine in a glass at the dining table.

"Valerie it's still morning." I scolded.

"It's six o'clock somewhere." She drank down her glass within seconds then sighed. "Let's fix up your face. Mari did you finish the dress?"

Mari suddenly spun around and gazed at us excited. "I need to make a few more attachments!" She rushed out of the room and we listened to her thundering footsteps.

"What dress?" I asked but Valerie had hauled me up by my arm. "Ouch."

"Sorry." She grabbed my chin and turned my head to analyse the wound. "We teach you how to fight for a reason you know." She let me go and I rolled my eyes.

"I have a feeling that if I were to attack my father his belly fat would protect him."

"Since when does he aim for your face?" Satine asked.

"Since I found his drawings."

They both closed in on me interested. "His drawings?"

"His explicit workings of a few women who serve us."

Satine gagged and Valerie looked like she just smelled something really awful. "That disgusting fat leech." They both muttered. Most would have said pig but they have a strange attachment to pigs. Val backed away from me horrified. "Your poor mother. How can anyone betray her? I swear she's the only man in the city that doesn't love her. Arielle is an angel."

"He's the devil." I replied.

"The devil is way more good looking." Satine said retracting her claws to normal but still perfect finger nails. I would have gawked like I did when she grew them out but the question remains stuck in my brain... Satine met the devil?

Mari shouted from the top of the steps. "Satine!"

"Oh what?" Sat sighed rolling her eyes.

"Did you have to bring company? I can smell it from all the way over here." My eyes widened confused.

"Smell what?" I questioned.

They ignored me keen to listen to Mari, "you had to bring a Count Dracula with you didn't you."

"It's not my fault these vampire kings are obsessed with me." Satine said flipping her blood red hair back. Val turned to her with an exhausted expression as if this isn't the first time this has happened.

"Let me guess his other brides and wives caught you with him and they tried to kill you." Valerie scowled and scrunched up her nose in disgust.

Satine narrowed her eyes feeling the judgment. "You guessed half right. I was there ready to snap his head off his body but the mistresses got in the way." Satine suddenly sniffed the air and whatever she smelled made her panic. "That's not him."

"Well it's some vampire boy sniffing on my gardenias!" Mari continued sound completely peeved.

"Boy?" Satine repeated mortified then ran up the staircase to wherever Mari was.

"I thought vampires couldn't go out in daylight?" I said.

"They can't." Valerie stated. She ran off to follow Satine and I ran behind her lifting up my skirts as to not trip but I stumbled on my own feet anyway anxious to see what a vampire looks like.

They were standing at the window in Mari's bedroom looking over the back garden and I drew up behind them to have a look. "Holy Hades what is your problem?" Satine whimpered not making sense.

"Aw Satine he brought you flowers." Mari mocked and nudged her with her elbow. I looked over Satine's shoulder and saw a young man our age with black hair, ghostly pale skin and in a black fancy coat with gold trimmings down in the garden gently sniffing on Mari's pink gardenias. From this gentle act you wouldn't think he was a killer but I suppose that's how they toy with humans.

"That's the Dracula's son? Not bad." Valerie purred eyeing him up through the window. This confused me for a moment and I remembered how easy it is in all novels I've read to find the enemy attractive. However I thought of Evan and that changed my mind completely for if I ever were to fall in love with that creature I would hope someone would decapitate me to ease my suffering.

"Use correct grammar, he's Dracula's son not the Dracula's son." I stated the inner grammar witch getting the better of me. They all laughed at me and I blushed embarrassed for an unknown reason.

Satine explained. "It's a title Luna." I looked at them lost and Satine began to lose her patience. That stung a little because I have never seen her impatient before it's always the other two with an attitude. "Dracula was the first vampire but he's dead so, now Dracula is just another word for king or the ruler for the next vampire who decides to be in charge."

"So if I were..." I started but she interrupted getting frustrated. "Bloody hell Luna do you get it or not? Because I'm not wasting my time explaining undead rubbish."

"Well excuse me for being for being human."

"Ah he's looking!" Mari whispered hastily and just like that we forgot our anger and became young girls again. The type that gawk at a good looking men and make up future baby names just from looking at their behinds. I mean their eyes, yes their eyes. Nothing to do with the male physique. We all jumped away from the window but Marilyn the clumsy oaf stumbled on her own feet and knocked the both of us over. My head smacked hard into the ground and with her big rump landing on my stomach. I would have rather died than feel the pain that's erupting now. My eyes bulged out from my head and I feel like an elephant is standing on my stomach.

"C-can't brea- b-b!tch get off me..." I choked out. Mari gasped and quickly hopped off me grabbing me firmly by my wrists to haul me up.

"I'm not fat." She said to me sternly then dusted me off before saying so seriously it was hard not to laugh. "I'm just a giant cat."

Satine scowled peeking through the window but trying to stay hidden as well. "That was a classic bad joke if I ever heard one."

Mari grinned at her. "But so worth it."

"What do we do about him?" I asked bringing them back to reality.

"He makes one wrong move in my garden and he's dead." Mari stated with a dark voice. She is very serious about her gardenias which she should be because they're beautiful.

"I'll go down and uh..." Satine didn't finish she just rushed quickly out of the room with an eagerness that I have never seen in her unless she's targeting food. Valerie and Mari shared gaze with the same devious grins and devilish eyes.

Mari whispered, "there's no way I'm missing out on this."

"Neither." Val replied but then she pointed at me. "You stay up here. He might be hungry." They bolted downstairs giggling like hyenas.

I muttered to myself as I walked down stairs. "If I can handle an overgrown mutt, freaky fire demons, three furry cat women and an Evan I can handle a toothy boy smelling flowers." I walked down the hallway to the back door where Mari and Valerie lingered looking out and facing away from me. I squished between them and that's when I realised the vampire was looking right directly at us and now at me.

"A lot of nerve for one so young..." Valerie purred at the man.

Where's Satine?

"I'm probably centuries older than you." He said his voice rich and deep. It doesn't match his young face at all and it makes him sound seductive. It also scares the daylight out of me.

"If I were you I would be smart enough not to be trespassing on our property." I decided to step back and stand behind Mari losing all the bravery I once had.

The vampire noticed and grinned at me. "Why I have not had the pleasure..."

"She's not here for anyone's pleasure." Val growled.

I sighed deciding to step in again. "Shouldn't you be out biting something?"

"Aw a brave little human girl." He mocked. "I didn't come to start anything, my intention was to see Satine and I will whether you like it or not."

"Is he trying to threaten us Val?" Mari asked still grinning.

"I think he is." She replied.

"I would like to speak to her." He said more seriously.

"That's up to her. Now go linger out there I don't want your sweaty dead stench rotting up the place." Val waved her hand to shoo him off.

He wore a grim expression. "Was that necessary?"

"Back away go on." She continued like she was talking to a disobedient puppy.

"Do you know who you are talking to?" He sneered. From the back into the woods I saw big glowing green eyes but I remained calm.

"We're really getting nowhere." I said and decided to take a step outside causing the girls to stiffen. "Satine is prepping herself for your death, would you like a cup of tea until then?"

"Doesn't really work with my diet." He whispered sensually then he winked at me.

"Luna..." Mari breathed. "Get back in here."

"Best not to be impolite I mean these are his last breaths, that is if you vampires do breathe."

"If we get bored." He grinned down at me surprised. "She is uh getting ready for me ha?" He said not so charmingly. In fact he sounds excited almost like he has true affections for Satine and she is in the woods just about to murder him. I don't even think Shakespeare could come up with something as tragic as that.

"Do not take that as a good sign." I replied sympathetically.

"You are only human correct?" He smiled revealing long sharp fangs but they're not as scary as Alpha's and all of a sudden a very stupid idea came into mind.

"Oh he's showing his little fangs." I awed. "They look so cute."

"Cute?" His brow creased.

"Luna..." Mari giggled. "Why would you say that they're hardly that impressive?"

"I'm just trying to be nice I mean I know they're not much just little baby snake fangs."

"Baby snake fangs! These can and will rip your throat out!" He snarled outraged.

"I once spent the night running with a bipolar werewolf and after seeing his terrors these little needles..." I pointed to both of his fangs. "Just can't compare."

"Oh a little wolf whore I should have known." He looked ready to grab me but a giant tiger ran out from the trees snapping her jaws onto his jacket. I screamed with him as she dragged him across the ground into the woods until they were both faint and far away.

"Come on Luna." Valerie said gently pulling me inside as I stared at the trees in horror. But neither of them were fazed whatsoever.

"She... But he was just..." I stuttered and Mari closed the door and gave me a really awkward smile.

"He would have killed you." Val said.

"Not with three giant cats around." Mari said.

"Oh who cares he's vampire?" Val snarled aggravated by my sympathy.

"The Dracula might. You know since he is or was his son." I pointed.

"You sleep with one werewolf and you think you know everything?" She sternly said crossing her arms over. My horror changed to annoyance. She made it sound worse than what it was and even Mari stepped to my side furious.

"Enough Valerie." Mari ordered taking my arm. "The whining has to stop before I snap my own neck or choose drinking as a sport." Valerie twirled away taking a heavy intake of breath.

"I better check on the tea." She grumbled strutting away.

"Don't worry Luna, you just came at a bad time." Mari said leading me back upstairs.

"Finding a giant tiger in a house and a vampire prince in the backyard is only a bad time?"

"You're right you must be losing faith in your sanity." She said cupping my cheek and bringing back that friendly smile.

"To be honest I do not remember a time of when I had it."
