Pictures and pencils
Why wasn't I running? Because I learned to have a little bit of common sense thanks to living with a paranoid opal for most of my summers. If I run I will die. And I don't personally want to die. But I could die anyway. Basically, if I followed this through I may survive.
"Hey! You coming or not?"
I gulped, reluctantly following, my stomach beginning to churn with fear. As I've said I'm way too curious for my own good.
I walked stiffly and slowly.
"Agh. Spring? Can you just levitate her? We're never going to get there in time if were too slow."
"You know I'm of more use than just 'spring levitate this'."
"Ya. We also use you for free nature magic."
Spring rolled his eyes yet still held up his hand and I felt my stomach drop as I was lifted off the ground.
I was flailing around, which probably didn't help my situation.
The first girl just grumbled and kept walking alongside Mari.
"Ha. Wait till Alister meets you. Bet that'll end well."
With some trouble I flailed around enough to face the girl.
"Who's Alister?" I asked, still trying to balance in midair.
She chuckled. "Ooh they really didn't tell you anything."
I shot her a confused look, which just made her laugh more. I sighed deciding to simply stare at the sky knowing I wouldn't get any answers from this girl.
Well, hope this won't end like a horror movie.
The sky started to disappear behind the trees as we walked on for at least 10 minutes. We were pretty deep in the woods so there was no way opal or Jasper would hear me yelling for help if things go sour.
"Ok Mari you're up and you can let her down now spring."
I landed with an thump. At least it was only grass.
When I got up I saw Mari tracing something on the rock while the girl took out a watch.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
She ignored me.
After what felt like an eternity the rock split open.
The trio walked right in through the opening in the stone.
Mari motioned for me to go in as well. Almost shaking, I followed. Most likely only for my curiosity of what would happen, as I now lost my last chance to run.
This didn't look good.
It looked like we were in a cave. And considering how that rock at the entrance split open easily I'm not too confident in this place holding up.
After about five minutes of walking, we arrived in a large circular room. There were pictures taped on the walls, pillows and blankets everywhere, and three doors seemingly made of fabric.
"Hey everyone! We're back!" The girl called out.
After a few seconds, a boy who looked about 13 stepped out of one of the rooms cautiously.
Spring flopped down on one of the pillows while Mari walked off into another room.
And this whole time I just stood there staring at where we were.
"You can sit down you know. Everyone will be out soon."
Spring said putting a pillow over his face.
I nodded and just sat down on the floor, unsure of what would happen.
"So...who's everyone?"
Before I could get an answer, the girl walked over to me with the other boy right behind.
"So Maria do you know why we brought you here?"
Did I do something wrong?
"No." I answered. The girl sat down followed by the other boy, who sat a little bit behind her.
"Well then I might as well introduce everyone first. My name is jade and this little guy is my brother Alister. That's Marion who just left, sunshine is sleeping over there-"
"Stop calling me sunshine!"
"But you can call him spring. Everyone does. Everyone else will arrive soon."
"Cool so um, why am I here exactly?"
I asked.
"Well we have a few things we should tell you. Obviously opal won't, and Jasper only knows a little bit of the story. Plus your mom...well."
"What about my mom?"
"She's lost the memories she had. Well technically they aren't lost. Just out of place."
Before I had the chance to inquire further, Marion popped back through one of the doors.
"Hey guys. They're back."
