Cop 1:
[Man, thought you'd be off the clock by five.  Did they keep you on call?  Shit luck.]

Cop 2:
[Cap said I could leave my gun and badge if I went home and listen to my old lady go on and on about her online shopping or whatever the hell she did all day.]

Cop 1:
[That's what you get for choosing the life of a public servant.]

Cop 2:
[It just had to fucking rain.]

Two cops from the Night City Police Department (NCPD) are calling each other while sitting in their cars as it rains outside.  Just then, someone walks up to one of them, who's sitting in the passenger seat.

Cop: *sees the guy and gets annoyed* Hmm?  What the hell you doin'?  Back it up.  Looking to get shot?

Before he could say anything else, the man in question points a DB-2 Satara (a tech double-barrel shotgun) at him, and in a bit of irony, the burly man blows the officer's head off.  As he unloads the empty shells, the rest of the police sees this, and pulls out their own guns and starts to open fire on the man, but the man was unfazed by it, as he has body platting on his torso and arms.  Without any hesitation, the man pulls out a M-76e Omaha (a tech pistol) and a HJKE-11 Yukimura (a tech automatic pistol), and starts to fire back at the cops, killing two of them.  He then reveals to have a Projectile Launch System in his left arm and fire a projectile at them, blowing some of them up.

Cop 3: GOT US A CYBERPSYCHO!

Cop 4: RAISE MAXTAC NOW!!

The Cyberpsycho, now armes with a HJSH-18 Masamune (a tech sub-machine gun), sees the two ips before shooting them, shredding them to pieces.  While he's busy shooting, one cop, armed with a M2038 Tactician (power shotgun), hinds behind a car close to the Cyberpsycho, waiting for him to run out a ammo.  As soon as that happens, the officer cocks his weapon and pops out of his hiding place in an attempt to shoot the suspect, but it turned out to be fruitless, as a Mantis Blade comes out of his right arm, and his decapitates the cop.  Another cop, not thinking clear, runs at the Cyberpsycho while shooting him, but the Cyberpsycho cut him in half (vertically), courtesy of another blade that is in his right leg.  The shootout continues, with the NCPD receiving more and more casualties.  Then, the Cyberpsycho's back begin to glow, and from there, everything around him appears to have slowed down.  He runs up and puts a bullet in the backs of six more cops.  After that, he reloads two new shells in his gun as everything returns back to normal motion, and the six cops'heads turn to chunks of brain and blood.  Just then, a red light with the words "STAY AWAY" could be seen underneath the Cyberpsycho.  A projectile shoots one of his guns, but not the Cyberpsycho, who used the same technique to get away from the blast.  The Cyberpsycho looks up and shoots at the helicopter that hovers over him.  It then cuts to members of MaxTac.

MTac: Need to fry his system fast.

Female MTac: Freak's sporting military-grade ICE.

MTac: Meaning our tech isn't?  Get to it!

The female member of MaxTac's goggles glow red as she looks down at the Cyberpsycho.  Within seconds, the Cyberpsycho's systems are fried, making him in place while the MaxTac members lowers dawn and surrounds him.  They slowly walk up to him with weapons ready, and they proceeds to shoot him multiple times, forcing him to drop his gun and collapse to the ground.  One member goes up the the fallen man, who pulls out his pistols and starts shooting him, but the MaxTac! member also has armor platting as well, as he aims his gun closer...and pulls the trigger.

Jack's POV

This...is Night City.  The "City of Dreams".  But to me, it's the "City of Nightmares".  What was supposed to be a place where it's free from government control, had turned into a cesspool of greed, violence, and corruption.  And now, recently, some poor choom by the name of Lt. Col. James Norris had succumbed to "Cyberpsychosis" after having too much chrome, and went on a gun-fueled rampage at Corpo Plaza, City Center, but was flatlined by MaxTac.  But unbeknownst to us at that time...that incident would be the beginning of something truly insane.  My name is Jack Kubo, also known as "Neo".  I'm 17 years old.  And this is my story...about how I took out a big corporation.......as an "edgerunner"...
