{ 🔮 }  · we love freezing weather! . ݁ ٬٬ ࣪

HONESTLY, Endora Prince never wanted to come to this extraction.

Now, it was not her fault she ended up her ─ it kind of was ─ but, really Chiron, this was her punishment? To freeze to death while she waited for the others to arrive? To wait in the cold with only her coat hanging from her body that gave not a lot of warmth. Thank gods to Lou Ellen for giving her those small heating pads she keeps around their corner in the cabin eleven for her hands. Endora still doesn't get how her sister's hands are always cold even when it's sunny at the Camp.

And how did Endora get in this situation you might ask? It was simple. Some people don't really like it when their hair is on fire. Just to be clear, it wasn't real fire, more like illusion with good effects that made campers though their hair really was on fire. Endora and Basil were just practicing some new spell Lou Ellen thought off, not their fault they didn't know what it was about.

And so, Endora was the one who got into trouble instead of her sister ( she will sort this with her, don't you worry ).

But, even if she is a little bit annoyed, Endora kind of lied it that this was her punishment.

Usually, children of minor gods never got to go on quest. First of all, there were not many of them claimed, just a few, like Lou Elle, Basil, Alabaster and Endora, all children of Hecate, Butch, son of Iris, Wendy, daughter of Hebe and Ethan, son of Nemesis.

But it was now Endora's time to shine. Many people don't really know or understand the really and true power children of Hecate posses. And Endora Prince will show them, despite the dark and foggy thoughts forming in her mind.

Endora Prince didn't like Annabeth Chase at first, and that feeling was returned. The brunette witch didn't like the fact that the blonde thought she was smarter than everyone else. She didn't like the way that the blonde looked at her or her siblings when they were claimed. She didn't like the fact that she thought she was something more because she was friends with the son of Poseidon despite their parent's rivalry.

But them, even when Annabeth didn't want to, she came towards Endora, who was the first one to be claimed by her mother, and asked if she could fix her books and papers she ruined. Endora may have smirked when the daughter of Athena came asking for their help and she would be lying if she doesn't say that pride overtook her and got to her head. But she's not sorry. She knows that she is powerful, powerful than most of the demigods in the Camp and that always made her confidence skyrocket.

From that day, Endora and Annabeth had some sort of friendship that no one understood ( neither did Endora, truth to be told ), but she guesses she could call Annabeth Chase her friend, question mark?

But would she go and save her ass. Yeah. Yeah, she would.

Then comes the famous son of Poseidon who got on Endora's nerves just a little bit.

He doesn't understand how lucky he was to be claimed as fast as he was by one of the most powerful gods ( Endora still believes her mother is more powerful ), go on a quest right after being claimed, what after a week or so, and having his own cabin ( what would Endora give just to have her own cabin ). Endora had been at the camp for seven years, being claimed after two, trained while she was there, and the most she got was to tag along with satyrs that were afraid of her to observe.

So, truthfully, she wasn't mad at this punishment Chiron thought of.

She just didn't expect the ending.

Endora didn't mind the winter, not one bit, even when she was freezing to death ─ plus it was night, which meant her powers grew more stronger and she herself felt the moon healing her mental wounds. It was nice feeling ─ like she was bathing in the moonlight, her pale skin shining in the silver glow.

The girl was standing in the parking lot in front of the Westover Hall, a place that she truly liked; it was her kind of style. It looked like a knight's castle. It was all black stone, with towers and slit windows and a big set of wooden double doors. It stood on a snowy cliff overlooking the big frosty forest on one side and the gray churning ocean on the other. A perfect place for Endora Prince.

She Iris-messaged Grover, a satyr, when she arrived, asking if she could come in. He strictly clear that she should stay outside and wait for the others to arrive. Which wouldn't be bad if she wasn't freezing her ass off.

And finally, after who knows what, a sound of car engine rang though the brunette's ears. She let out a puff of air, watching as it appeared in front of her and dissolved into the air just as the car parked in front of her figure.

She watched as the doors of the car opened and three figures stepped out of it. A curly haired blonde girl with striking gray eyes stepped out of the right door and a black haired girl with punk rock style out of the left side door ( her side ). From the passenger side stepped out a raven haired boy with a boyish smile forming on his face.

"Thank gods! I was freezing my ass off!"

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "We're here, your highness, don't worry."

"Oh I wasn't worried," Endora said, accepting a stiff hug from the blonde girl, "The tracking spell worked wonders."

"What got you into this?" Thalia asked, giving the girl a side hug.

"Just some illusion Lou came up with," Endora shrugged, "People don't really like it when their hair is on fire."

"I inspire to be you," Thalia grinned.

"Why thank you, but you truly don't want to." Endora said, "Now, can we please go in. The heating pads are not working anymore."

"I don't get a hug?" a voice behind Thalia said.

The car drove off, leaving for demigods alone in front of the castle. Endora turn towards the last person, raising her eyebrow and acting surprised.

"Do you even know me?"

Percy shrugged and opened his arms, "No, but I like hugs."

The witch regarded him, looking him up and down. Her gaze made the boy a little bit nervous and anxious, pulling his hands down by his side.

"So, no hugs?"

Endora pursed her lips,, "Too soon. Let's get inside, Grover is waiting for us."

The oak doors groaned open, and the four of them stepped into the entry hall in a swirl of snow. The place was huge and Endora fell in love with it less. She preferred the exterior over the interior. The walls were lined with battle flags and weapon displays: antique rifles, battle axes, and a bunch of other stuff. She knew Westover was a military school and all, but the decorations seemed like overkill.

Percy's hand went to his pocket, probably where he kept his lethal ballpoint pen, Riptide. Thalia was rubbing her silver bracelet, her favorite magic item.

Annabeth started to say, "I wonder where ─ "

The doors slammed shut behind them.

"Oo-kay," Percy mumbled. "Guess we'll stay awhile."

Endora hummed, "Spooky. I like it."

Percy looked at her strangely, "You are weird."

"I know." the witch said simply, "Not the first one to notice that. Not like you even noticed me at all."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing," Endora shrugged and looked around. She could hear music echoing from the other end of the hall. It sounded like dance music.

Percy raised his eyebrow, but followed after Endora none the less. Annabeth, Thalia and Percy stashed their overnight bags behind a pillar, while Endora kept hers to herself. She didn't want to leave her Chanel bag for someone to take it k( it was her prised possession after her spellbook and sword ); besides, it weight nothing with the spell she put on.

They started down the hall. The group hadn't gone very far when the girl heard footsteps on the stone floor, and a man and woman marched out of the shadows to intercept them. They both had short gray hair and black military-style uniforms with red trim. The woman had a wispy mustache, and the guy was clean-shaven, which seemed kind of backward to the . They both walked stiffly, like they had broomsticks taped to their spines.

"Well?" the woman demanded. "What are you doing here?"

"Um. . ."Percy begun to say, "Ma'am, we're just ─ "

"Ha!" the man snapped, which made Percy jump. "Visitors are not allowed at the dance! You shall be eee-jected!"

He had an accent ─ French, maybe. He pronounced his J like in Jacques, He was tall, with a hawkish face. His nostrils flared when he spoke, which made it really hard not to stare up his nose, and his eyes were two different colors ─ one brown, one blue ─ like an alley cat's.

Endora stepped forward and snapped her fingers. The sound was sharp and loud. The sensation flowing though her as a gust of wind ripple out from her hand, across the room. It washed over all of them, making the banners rustle on the walls.

"Oh, but we're not visitors, sir," Endora said. "We go to school here. You remember: I'm Endora. And this is Thalia, Annabeth and Percy. We're in the eighth grade."

The male teacher narrowed his two-colored eyes, and Endora stared back with the same glare. The man seemed to be hesitating. He looked at his colleague. "Ms. Gottschalk, do you know these students?"

The woman blinked, "I. . . yes. I believe I do, sir." she frowned at them. "Endora. Annabeth. Thalia. Percy. What are you doing away from the gymnasium?"

Before they could answer, Endora heard more footsteps, and Grover ran up, breathless. "You made it! You ─ " he stopped short when he saw the teachers. "Oh, Mrs. Gottschalk. Dr. Thorn! I, uh ─ "

"What is it, Mr. Underwood?" said the man. His tone made it clear that he detested Grover. "What do you mean, they made it? These students live here."

Grover swallowed. "Yes, sir. Of course, Dr. Thorn. I just meant, I'm so glad they made. . . the punch for the dance! The punch is great. And they made it!"

Dr. Thorn glared at them. Endora decided one of his eyes had to be fake. The brown one? The blue one? He looked like he wanted to pitch them off the castle's highest tower, but then Mrs.Gottschalk said dreamily, "Yes, the punch is excellent. Now run along, all of you. You are not to leave the gymnasium again!"

They didn't wait to be told twice. They left with a lot of "Yes, ma'ams" and "Yes, sirs" anda couple of salutes, just because it seemed like the thing to do. Grover hustled them down the hall in the direction of the music.

Percy walked closely to Endora and asked in a low voice, "How did you do that finger-snap thing?"

The girl rolled her eyes, "I'm a witch, I can do all kinds of stuff." she huffed, "Besides, it's a trick Chiron can teach you. Hasn't he shown you how to do that yet?"

"That was close!" Grover said. "Thank the gods you got here!"

Ebdora, Annabeth and Thalia hugged Grover. Percy gave him a big high five, which was lame truth to be told.

"So what's the emergency?" Percy asked.

Grover took a deep breath. "I found two."

"Two half-bloods?" Thalia asked, amazed. "Here?"

Grover nodded. Finding one half-blood was rare enough. This year, Chiron had put the satyrs on emergency over time and sent them all over the country, scouring schools from fourth grade through high school for possible recruits. These were desperate times. They were losing campers. They needed all the new fighters they could find. The problem was, there just weren't that many demigods out there.

"A brother and a sister," he said. "They're ten and twelve. I don't know their parentage, but they're strong."

"Strong in what way?" Endora asked, "Zeus way or Nemesis way for example."

"Don't know, Dora," Grover said, "They're just powerful. And, we're running out of time, though. I need help."

"Monsters?"

"One." Grover looked nervous. "He suspects. I don't think he's positive yet, but this is the last day of term. I'm sure he won't let them leave campus without finding out. It may be ourlast chance! Every time I try to get close to them, he's always there, blocking me. I don't know what to do!"

"Right," Thalia said. "These half-bloods are at the dance?"

Grover nodded.

"Then let's dance," Thalia said. "Who's the monster?"

"Oh," Grover said, and looked around nervously. "You just met him. The vice principal, Dr. Thorn."

"Joy."

Weird thing about military schools: the kids go absolutely nuts when there's a special event and they get to be out of uniform. Endora guesses it's because everything's so strict the rest of the time, they feel like they've got to overcompensate or something.

There were black and red balloons all over the gym floor, and guys were kicking them in each others faces, or trying to strangle each other with the crepe-paper streamers taped tothe walls. Girls moved around in groups, and some of the older guys looked uncomfortable, hanging out at the edges of the gym and trying to hide.

"There they are." Grover nodded toward a couple of younger kids arguing in the bleachers. "Bianca and Nico di Angelo."

The girl wore a floppy green cap, like she was trying to hide her face. The boy was obviously her little brother. They both had dark silky hair and olive skin, and they used their hands a lot as they talked. The boy was shuffling some kind of trading cards. His sister seemed to be scolding him about something. She kept looking around like she sensed something was wrong.

Annabeth said, "Do they. . . I mean, have you told them?"

Grover shook his head. "You know how it is. That could put them in more danger. Once they realize who they are, their scent becomes stronger."

"So let's grab them and get out of here," Percy said.

He started forward, but Thalia put her hand on his shoulder. The vice principal, Dr. Thorn, had slipped out of a doorway near the bleachers and was standing near the di Angelo siblings. He nodded coldly in their direction. His blue eye seemed to glow. Endora was glaring daggers at him.

"Don't look at the kids," Thalia ordered. "We have to wait for a chance to get them. We need to pretend we're not interested in them. Throw him off the scent."

"How?"

"We're four powerful half-bloods. Our presence should confuse him. Mingle. Act natural. Do some dancing. But keep an eye on those kids."

"Dancing?" Annabeth asked.

Thalia nodded. She cocked her ear to the music and made a face. "Ugh. Who chose the Jesse McCartney?"

Grover looked hurt. "I did."

"Oh my gods, Grover. That is so fucking lame. Can't you play, like, Green Day or something?"

"Green who?"

"Never mind. Let's dance."

"But I can't dance!"

"You can if I'm leading," Thalia said. "Come on, goat boy."

Grover yelped as Thalia grabbed his hand and led him onto the dance floor.

Annabeth smiled.

"What?"

"Nothing. It's just cool to have Thalia back."

Annabeth had grown taller over the summer; everyone in the Camp had. Even if Endora stood taller then Percy right now, Annabeth shot up to be taller then Endora. She used to wear no jewelry except for her Camp Half-Blood bead necklace, but now she wore little silver earrings shaped like owls ─ the symbol of her mother, Athena. She pulled off her ski cap, and her long blond hair tumbled down her shoulders.

Percy, too, had grown over the summer from what Endora remembers. She's always watching from the side, not really paying attention to the popular kids of the Camp. He looked more awkward then what Endora initially thought and his raven hair seemed longer.

Your bisexuality is showing, imagionary voice of her sister rang though her mind.

Fuck off, she grumbled, half listening to what Annabeth was saying. Something about architecture.

She went on to explain how she'd designed this huge monument that she wanted to build at Ground Zero in Manhattan. She talked about structural supports and facades and stuff, and Endora tried to listen. She knew she wanted to be a super architect when she grew up ─ she loves math and historical buildings and all that ─ but the girl hardly understood a word she was saying.

Endora knew Annabeth was going to a new school in New York, something Endora wasn't experiencing. It was a boarding school in Brooklyn, and she and Thalia were both attending, close enough to Camp Half-Blood that Chiron could help if they got in any trouble. The witch was thinking of asking Chiron if she could attend some school, but the idea was still processing in her mind.

"Hey!" Thalia called to them.

She was slow dancing with Grover, who was tripping all over himself, kicking Thalia in the shins, and looking like he wanted to die. At least his feet were fake.

"Dance, you guys!" Thalia ordered. "You look stupid just standing there."

"Well?" Annabeth said.

"Um, who should I ask?" Percy asked.

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "You're an idiot. Sometimes, I wonder how your brain works. Me or Dora, Seaweed Brain."

"Oh. Oh, right. Um. . . Annabeth?"

The blonde let out a tired breath, "You're so fucking dumb. Alright, let's dance. Don't step on my feet, I'm making myself clear."

"And I'll be over the punch table ─ or shadows, probably shadows." Endora said, walking away, not really bothered by the situation.
