"...you can't keep doing this" The silver head woman said as she saw the other woman lying in bed
"...leave me alone, Bronya" Mei said
"Mei..." Bronya said and Mei trembled as she sat up
"I'm serious...please leave" Mei said
"You shouldn't be living like this. Kiana-" Bronya flinched as Mei gave her a deadly cold glare at her once she mentioned the name
"...leave" Mei said
"I miss her too, Mei. We all do...but it was her choice. Do you think she'd be happy seeing you like this?" Bronya asked and Mei looked down. Bronya sighed deeply and walked to the door
"Mei, we are all worried about you. You are not alone. You can come to me or the others when you need someone. I'm begging you...please quit hurting yourself like this..." Bronya said before walking out the room. Lightning struck down from the dark sky as it started to pour down
"...why...why...why...why..." Mei trembled while clenching onto the old jacket of the other woman
"Why did you have to leave me, damnit!? I can't go on living like this! Why!? Have you ever thought about my feelings!?" Mei exclaimed. She clenched onto her chest tightly feeling the pain get worse
"...I-I meant it...I meant it! I meant it, idiot! This world means nothing to me without you!" Mei cried loudly. The storm worsened as the rain poured harder and flashes of light lit up the dark room
"Pl-please...please...just...come back to me. Kiana..." Mei cried onto the jacket

"Guh! Ah!" The young girl woke up shaking and sat up. She looked around her room and touched her eyes feeling the tears that came rolling down her cheeks
It's getting worse...
Mei sighed deeply and rubbed her eyes as she wiped the tears away. She stared at the clock by her nightstand and got up from her bed. Mei went to the bathroom and started her morning routine to get ready for school. After getting herself ready, Mei stepped out of her room and heard a few noises downstairs. She went downstairs to eat breakfast which the maid finished preparing on time
"Morning Mei" Her grandfather said as he sat by the table
"...morning grandfather" Mei said as she walked up to the dining table
"Enjoy your breakfast" The maid said as she gave her a smile and Mei nodded
"Thanks" Mei said. Her grandfather glanced at her for a moment before clearing his throat
"Sho, sent a letter" Her grandfather said
"...throw it away" Mei said as she started eating her breakfast
"He flew back here to see you again..." Her grandfather said and Mei flinched. Her grandfather sighed deeply and set the newspaper down
"I understand how you feel about this but maybe it won't-"
"Why should I care about him when he never once paid attention to me?" Mei asked
"Mei, I-"
"I really don't want to see him, grandfather. So please tell him to stay away from me" Mei said and her grandfather sighed deeply
"I understand. I'll...talk to him later today about this" Her grandfather said
"...if he does show up then I'll stay over at Himeko's place until he leaves" Mei said
"Okay" Her grandfather said. Mei looked down at her food before wincing in pain as she felt her head throb
"Mei, is everything okay?" Her grandfather asked
"Y-yeah...I'm fine. I probably...didn't rest well last night" Mei said
"Don't overwork yourself, Mei. I know you've been studying hard to handle the Academy but take it easy" Her grandfather said
"Yes grandfather" Mei said
"Ah and I need to remind you that we have a new transfer student. Please show her around the place when you meet her" Her grandfather said
"Who?" Mei asked
"Yuzuko Okogi. I was going to reject her form since her grades...look like they need more improving but maybe she can improve with a little help" Her grandfather said
"Excuse me?" Mei asked
"You can help her out" Her grandfather said
"You want me to take care of her?" Mei asked
"No. I'm only saying to help her out to improve her grades. She is in the same grade level as you" Her grandfather said
"Fine" Mei said
"Thank you, Mei. This helps build up a good reputation to our schools so we can get more students coming in" Her grandfather said
"Okay" Mei said. After finishing breakfast, Mei grabbed her bag and her grandfather waited by the front door
"Your friend is here, Mei" Her grandfather said
"Alright. I'm going" Mei said and opened the door
"Remember to be nice with the transfer student okay?" Her grandfather said
"Morning Mr. Aihara" The younger girl said
"Morning Himeko. Get to school safe" Her grandfather said
"We will" Himeko said and Mei walked out of the place. Himeko followed her friend by walking beside her
"Morning Meimei" Himeko said
"Morning Himeko..." Mei said. The girl looked at her friend noticing her expression
"Meimei, did something happen?" Himeko asked
"Nothing. Just...we have a new transfer student coming in today" Mei said
"Oh right" Himeko said
"My grandfather said to give her a helping hand to give her a chance to improve her grades. Pretty much he wants me to take care of her which I'm not looking forward to. If her grades weren't good then why allow her in?" Mei said
"Maybe she isn't all bad" Himeko said
"She better not be or else I'll have to talk with my grandfather" Mei said
"...are you sure you're okay, Mei? Is there something else you'd like to talk about?" Himeko asked since she kept noticing the expression on the girl's face. Mei tensed up slightly and soon let out a deep sigh
"...it's my father" Mei said
"Eh? Your father?" Himeko asked
"He's here...and I'm not looking forward into seeing him" Mei said as she clenched her bag tightly
"Oh...so that's what's bugging you" Himeko said
"Be ready if I end up staying at your place" Mei said
"You're always welcomed, Meimei. You can come by to my place whenever" Himeko said as she smiled
"Thanks Himeko" Mei said. The two middle schoolers approached the school where they found a bit of a group by the front entrance
"What's going on there?" Himeko asked. Mei stepped closer and the other students flinched as they stepped back from her
"Why is everyone standing here?" Mei asked
"Oh sorry about that" The black haired girl said as she walked up to her with a bright smile. Mei looked at the girl in front of her and flinched seeing a certain memory flash by her head but immediately forgot the image of it once it left
...fuck. It's happening again. Why now?
"...you're the transfer student?" Mei asked once she snapped back to reality
"Yep! Yuzuko Okogi but you may call me Yuzu" Yuzu said as she held her hand out
"I'm Mei Aihara. Welcome Okogi-san and I hope you enjoy your first day" Mei said as she reached out to hold her hand. Once their hands touched, Mei felt something that made her pull away immediately
"A-ahem. Uhm if you have any problems you can go ahead and ask me. I'll gladly help" Mei said
What was that just now?
"Thanks. Since it's my first day I would like it if you could show me around so I don't get lost" Yuzu said
"Very well. Himeko, I hope you don't mind" Mei said glancing at her friend
"Not at all. Go ahead" Himeko said as she walked away
"Okay. We have a bit of time to walk around. Follow me" Mei said
"Okay" Yuzu said and followed her. During the orientation, Mei couldn't stop feeling something fuzzy and warm which was a feeling she hadn't felt for so long. A feeling that made her feel...happy?
"We only have five minutes left. Let's head to the classroom" Mei said
"...you felt it too right?" Yuzu asked which made Mei look at her
"...what are you talking about?" Mei asked and Yuzu reached her hand out to grab her hand. Mei's body tensed up as she had a certain vision which made her feel various emotions and pulled her hand away
"...I-I'm not sure what you're talking about. Please don't touch me. I don't like it..." Mei said as she turned around to walk away. Yuzu watched her walk away and looked at her hand seeing the red string connected with Mei. A smile formed in her lips and giggled softly
"So it's finally connected? Guess I found my soulmate" Yuzu whispered softly

For the rest of the day, Mei couldn't do anything to avoid the new girl since she had the same class with her. It was also a struggle to focus because of the stupid visions she kept seeing which only occured being near Yuzu or touch her. The mix of feelings bothered her to the point that everyone was terrified of her since Mei's expression wasn't pretty
"...h-hey are you okay?" Himeko asked nervously feeling Mei's aura
"I'm fine..." Mei said
"Has the new student been giving you a hard time?" Himeko asked
"It's nothing. Forget it" Mei said making Himeko flinch
"I understand" Himeko said. Mei stared at her food and got up from her seat
"I need to use the bathroom..." Mei said and walked away. As she walked by, Mei heard whispers from other students which only made things worse for her
...I'm exhausted
She got to the bathroom and looked around hoping it was empty but...it wasn't
"Hm? Hey Mei" Yuzu said and Mei immediately turned around trying to leave
"Hey wait!" Yuzu said grabbing her hand. Mei felt her heart throb and slapped her hand away
"Mei?" Yuzu asked as she saw the girl breathing slightly heavy
"You alright?" Yuzu asked slightly worried
"Y-yeah. Yeah I'm fine. I just...uhm...it's nothing" Mei said
"What's wrong?" Yuzu asked as she leaned in. Mei was slightly surprised that she ended up blushing a little before pushing her face away
"Agh!" Yuzu groaned
"Have you ever heard of personal space?" Mei asked
"Sorry Mei" Yuzu said
"Aihara-san..." Mei said
"Hm?" Yuzu asked
"We're not close enough to call each other by our first names..." Mei said looking to the side
"Then let's get to know each other" Yuzu said
"What?" Mei asked and tensed up as Yuzu took a step close
"I want to get to know you more, Mei" Yuzu said
"Wh-what for?" Mei asked as she tried to get away but her back ended up bumping against the wall
"Because I find you interesting" Yuzu said and Mei jumped as the girl leaned in closer. She shut her eyes tightly and Yuzu stopped close to her lips. She smirked playfully before going towards her ear
"You're cute, Mei" Yuzu whispered softly and Mei's face turned extremely red along with her ears. She covered her right ear and trembled
"D-don't do th-that" Mei said
"Oh my bad. Are your ears sensitive?" Yuzu asked and Mei pushed her to the side
"Please don't get close to me like that again. I don't plan on being friends with you..." Mei said as she walked away
"Jeez...she sure is cold" Yuzu said and blushed a little as she remembered her face
A kiss would've been nice...
Meanwhile Mei was walking away from the bathroom with her heart beating rapidly. Her face was completely red and she stopped for a moment before covering her face
...wh-why do I feel...like th-this?

It'd be really cute if Yuzu and Mei met in middle school.
