Part 52
Y/n was sat at a barstool at the kitchen counter, watching as the doctor nodded slowly. He jumped back.
"Yep! Definitely pregnant." Wanda looked at Vision with a weak smile.
"Oh, well that much we figured." Vision sat forward.
"It's just kind of taken us by surprise. It's just kind of suddenly, quite suddenly, wasn't it? I mean, practically overnight, I mean, how did this happen?" Y/n grinned widely.
"You see, when a man and a woman love each other very much," Vision glared at the giggling woman. Wanda coughed and stood up.
"Well, we're just tickled pink, or blue." The doctor motioned to her belly.
"You're about four months now, is that right?" Vision shook his head before seeing Y/n and Wanda nodding and joining them. The doctor smiled.
"I thought as much. We let the little ladies keep tabs on their growing babies with fruit. Makes it simple for them." Y/n and Wanda frowned at each other, but let the doctor keep speaking.
"At four months, the fetus is about as big as a pear. At five months, a papaya. Six, grapefruit. Seven, pineapple," Y/n nodded.
"and eight, honeydew!" The doctor turned to her with a smile.
"Yes, that's correct. How did you know that?" Y/n paused for a moment, her face drawing blank.
"I have no idea, I guess I must have heard it somewhere." Vision put his hands on his hips.
"Hypothetically speaking, what size fruit would it be at, say, hmmmm, 12 hours?" The doctor frowned.
"Well, what? 12 hours?" Y/n snapped back to her regular self, patting the doctor on the back.
"As usual, I think Vision's thoughts are fruitless." Vision walked closer.
"Well, hypothetically speaking, should we be concerned?" The doctor walked across the room and picked up his bag before turning to Vision.
"Hypothetically speaking, every new father-to-be gets nervous." Vision stood straight.
"Well I have nerves of steel, so there goes your theory Mr Doctor Sir." Wanda cut him off.
"Vision, why don't you see the doctor out?" Y/n smiled sweetly.
"And can you stay out by any chance?" Vision scowled at her once more before turning to his wife.
"Good idea Wanda. Yes, thank you so much for dropping by Dr. Neilson." The two men walked out the door, leaving Wanda and Y/n together. Y/n reached out and held Wanda's hands.
"I can't believe how quickly this all happened. You missed out on so many maternity clothes." Wanda laughed as the two girls leaned forward to touch their foreheads together. Wanda softly smiled.
"I'm so nervous Y/n." Y/n let out a gust of air.
"Please. I mean, birth hurts like a, well like a word I shouldn't say with children present," Y/n pointed at Wanda's bump. "But that only lasts so long, the hard part is actually raising the kid. But you'll be an amazing mother Wanda." Wanda drew them apart before trying to bring them together again for a hug, forgetting about her massive belly in the way.
"How do you know so much about this?" Y/n shrugged.
"Lucas." Wanda frowned.
"Lucas?" Y/n tilted her head sharply.
"Lucas? Who's Lucas Wanda?" Wanda opened her mouth but no sound came out. Vision walked back inside, interrupting them.
"The strangest thing just happened with.. woah" Wanda and Y/n turned to face him. Y/n and Vision stared at Wanda's belly. Vision yelled out.
"Woah Nelly! Have you gotten bigger?!" Wanda turned around, knocking over a fruit bowl with her stomach. Y/n teleported over to catch the fruit with an orange flash. Wanda just brushed her hair out of her face.
"Have I? I can't tell from this angle." Vision jogged over and picked a papaya out of Y/n's hands.
"I can't wait to be a proud... papa-ya." Y/n pat Vision on the back.
"Vision, I've never been prouder of you."

Vision and Wanda turned around as Y/n walked into their new nursery, all half put together and painted. Wanda pointed at her.
"Y/n, which name do you like better, Tommy," Vision stepped forward, speaking with gusto.
"Or Billy!" Y/n shrugged.
"Honestly, I like them both." Wanda and Vision frowned at her before turning and frowning at each other. Wanda stepped forward.
"But Tommy is such a good, all american name." Vision followed suit.
"But Billy is so nice, it's like William Shakespeare" Y/n frowned.
"Who's that?" Vision stopped moving for a second.
"Well I've lost this battle." Y/n and Wanda smiled. Y/n pat him on the back.
"Better get used to losing, especially while I'm around." Wanda grinned.
"Well Y/n, if you had a kid, what would name him. " Y/n thought for a second.
"God, that's tough. I don't know." Vision frowned.
"Really? Your the most opinionated person I know." Y/n smaked him. Lightly.
"Well, If I was pregnant right now, and I had to choose a name this very second, I'd pick Lucas." Wanda's smiled dropped in a swift motion.
"Lucas?" Y/n nodded.
"Yeah, why?" Wanda compised herself again.
"Sorry, that name just feels familiar for some reason.
"Y/n paused before clicking her fingers.
"WI've probably mentioned it to you Wanda, but it was my dad's name. I've always thought about nameing a son after him." WaVision smiled.
"That's actually sweet Y/n." Y/n shrugged.
"I can be sweet when I want to." Wanda took a deep breath.
"Well,theres only one way to solve this, hope for a girl." Wanda pointed her finger to a blank wall of the nursery, and a stork painting appeared. Vision frowned.
"Well, we'd better decide soon. I'm estimating you'll be due... It's not a constant progression, assuming logarithmic, but were I to graph the fetal development thus far," Wanda frowned.
"He's gonna be here before you figure it out." Vision frowned.
"The nearest I can do is that Billy" Wanda inturupted.
"Tommy" Vision tilted his head and made a noise questioning it.
"is due Friday afternoon." Wanda's eyes widened.
"In three days? Maybe I should sit down."
~~~
Y/n walked out of the house. She needed to escape Wanda right now. She didn't know why, but it felt like a pain in her chest every time she saw Wanda's belly, every time Vision argued about baby names. She only took three steps off the porch before Agnes waltzed out.
"Y/n! Wonderful morning isnt it?" Y/n smiled.
"Agnes! Oh my, I didn't expect to see you! You are right, the sky is magnificent today." Y/n and Agnes walked over to their shared fence. Agnes touched Y/n's hand.
"So, whatcha up to today?" Y/n smiled.
"Oh, nothing more than usual. I'm just off to the shops myself." Agnes gasped.
"No gosh darn way! I'm off to the market as well! I feel like I go every day with how much Ralph eats. Men" Y/n nodded in a knowing way, even though she had no idea what Agnes was talking about, as usual.
"How is Ralph? I feel like I never see him." Agnes chuckled.
"Oh, with how lazy he is I don't think you ever will. Especially since you leave for that singing tour, well, when do you leave?" Y/n stared at her blankly.
"Soon. I leave soon." Agnes looked like she was going to ask another question, but before any words could reach her throught, Vision zoomed out of the house. Y/n looked between the house and Agnes before holding her hands.
"I'm so sorry Agnes, I have a feeling Wanda needs me. We'll have to continue this chat later." Agnes nodded and squeezed Y/n's hands.
"No problem, I'll take my bike to the market instead of walking. I've heard the circuit is beautiful." Y/n had been starting to walk away, but she stopped in her tracks.
"What did you say?" Agnes smiled.
"I thought Wanda needed you?" Y/n blinked silently before smiling.
"Right. I'll see you Agnes." Agnes's smile widened.
"See you Y/n."
