Y/n walked through the long halls of the compound, the white walls suffocating her. The rhythmic thumping of her footsteps halted as she reached her destination. A tall, sleek, white door stood in front of her, looming above her stout figure. She coughed before knocking loudly upon it with her knuckles. She opened the door after hearing a call for her to come in. She quickly stepped inside before closing the door again and walking to the clear desk ahead of her.

"Pepper! How are you?" Pepper stood up with a smile as Y/n joined her.

"Good, I'm going good. How about you? How are you doing living by yourself?" Y/n chuckled lightly as her eyes widened. She opened her mouth but paused before speaking again.

"Well, any chance I could see Tony, it's actually regarding that, a little bit." Pepper's eyebrow lifted as she tapped a message into her computer.

"Yeah, well, I'm quitting." Pepper looked like she had just choked.

"Quitting?"

"Quitting."

"Quitting what?!"

"This, being a superhero. I think that I should be living my life, the one I didn't get the chance to. The one that normal people get to." Pepper sighed before looking at Y/n's hand.

"Would part of that life be getting married?" Y/n looked shocked for a second before following her gaze and realizing how she knew.

"Oooh, yeah. Yeah, that's a big part of it." Pepper smiled, showing a fraction of her teeth.

"Well, who's the lucky guy?" Before Y/n could answer Tony walked in.

"Hello everyone, I'm here, crisis avoided. Hey Squeak." Y/ gave Tony a wave.

"Hey, Thump!" Tony walked over to the pair and looked between the two girls.

"So, why are you here early, that never happens. Wait, are you dying?" Y/n laughed and handed him a few sheets of paper.

"I just wanted to be early for the first and last time in my life. I'm done being a hero." Tony looked through the papers. He sighed.

"Wow, I can't believe you retired before me. Any reason other than a lack of taste for this lifestyle?" Y/n twisted the ring on her finger.

"Yes, I'm getting married. And I don't want to get my future husband killed because of my career." Tony nodded.

"Anyone I know? A local worker? An online predator? Come on, tell me." Y/n grinned nervously and tilted her head.

"Oh, you know him. You defiantly know him. I just don't believe you like him." Tony's brows furrowed as he thought for a second. He was about to give up when his face fell.

"No."

"Maybe."

"No."

"Possibly."

"NO!"

"Woop woop!" Tony walked around himself and rubbed his face with his hands.

"So you did keep track of that little" Y/n nodded.

"Actually I never lost track of him." Tony looked at her.

"So he's been here, in New York this whole time, and I just never noticed! I never saw him buying groceries, or going for a drive?" Y/n chuckled nervously again.

"Well, that's another thing. I haven't been living here in New York. I've been living in Canada. And we cant afford a car." Tony looked at her and spoke with a fake angry voice.

"I cant believe you did this. Y/n! Have you learnt nothing?!" Y/n chuckled and smiled at him.

"Well, I lied to keep someone I love out of trouble and to keep everyone as happy as possible. I learnt that from you." Pepper chuckled and cut in.

"She's got you there Tony." Y/n grinned.

"I know that I wont be working for you anymore, but I still want to have you two as a part of my life. And, I know it's really far off, but do you think you could walk me down the aisle?" Tony looked at her. Y/n swore she could almost see tears bubbling in Tony's eyes. She saw his shocked face and backed down.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked. It's just that I don't have parents so I just thought maybe," Tony cut her off by placing his hand on her shoulder.

"Of course. I would never say no. On one condition." Y/n frowned.

"You can't wear your iron man suit." Pepper looked at Tony who groaned.

"Okay, on one other  condition." Y/n nodded.

"Shoot."

"You let me pay." Y/n looked shocked.

"No, I can't accept that." Tony wouldn't give up.

"Well, if you can't afford a car, how are you going to pay for an extravagant wedding?" Y/n stared at him with a cold gaze.

"Easy, I won't have an extravagant wedding." Tony matched her glare with the same calculating eyes.

"Well, weddings cost a lot, you cant expect that saving up will make up for that." Y/n took a step closer.

"You can pay for 20%" Tony took a step as well. Pepper was on the verge of laughter.

"80%"

"21%"

"79%" 

Pepper stood up.

"Look, you're both too stubborn for you're own good, so let me end this. Y/n, let Tony pay for 65% of the wedding, and Tony, don't even exercise the idea of having your suit anywhere near the wedding. Deal? Deal. Now, Y/n, I think you have a fiance back in Canada you should get back to." Y/n and Tony broke their glares and shook hands. She hugged them both before walking out. As she was embracing Tony, she whispered in his ear.

"Thanks." Tiny gave her a squeeze.

"Screw you Squeak."

Y/n walked back into the apartment and was met with a massive mess. She walked over to Pietro as he sat at the table with books and paper strewn everywhere.

"Woah, did hurricane Kartina come again? What is this?" She spoke with a chuckle as she picked random pieces of paper and photos up. Pietro was smiling.

"This is wedding planning. I've been looking at chairs, and tables, but mainly at flowers." Y/n raised an eyebrow at him.

"Flowers?" He nodded.

"Flowers. I was thinking because they are so expensive, and because they can be a bit tricky, we could just have two sets of flowers" Y/n sat down next to him and held his hand without even realizing it. He just kept smiling as he continued.

"My idea was that I could have an orange flower on my tux, and you could have a blue bouquet to hold, or just on in your hair." Y/n was tearing up just at the idea.

"That, is the most perfect thing I have ever heard."

And once again, the world was perfect.

Wow, I posted this chapter so late in the day! Sorry about that. I haven't been doing great, but for the first time in a while, I was just able to sit down and write, and it felt so amazing.

The next chapter will bring the start of infinity war, so make sure to emotionally prepare for that, if that's even possible.
