Chapter 3
Victor got the email and nearly had a heart attack. To be fair, he had 2 emails, one from the principal, and one from Kellin's mom. The principal had given the short explanation: he was to tutor Kellin Quinn. The long explanation was really long, compared to what the principal had sent.
"Dear Victor,
I am kellin's mother. There are a few things that you need to understand about Kellin before you tutor him. I know what happened today, and I am very sorry it happened. To start things off, Kellin is very unique, he does things in patterns. He's a creature of habit. As for his behavior, he was diagnosed bipolar when he was 13. He is moody on a good day. School is one of his major struggles. I'm hoping that you will be able to help him. He's a good kid underneath the attitude and sass. His father walked out on us about a year after his diagnosis. His best friend Gabe recently moved, and I feel that, that may be a reason for some of his behavior. He wasn't always this way.
Please be patient with him. He's smarter than he realizes. My hope is to get him back in regular classes by the end of the semester. Music is his passion, and its one way he can be semi normal. I'm not asking you to be his best friend, please just respect that this is all private, and i am greatly trusting you with this information.
In return for your help I will personally pay you 25$ a week. This s my last resort, if he does not do better, the school will transfer him to oaky hills, and until he is deemed okay, he will live at that facility indefinitely. Please try to help my son, all I ask for is Patience, acceptance, and doing the best you can to help him.
It is greatly appreciated,
Kellin's mother, Rachael."
Vic shook his head. He was pretty sure that after the last, god knows how long, the kid hated him, and finally chose today to do something about it. He had put together that the kid wasn't all there, The last few days had really showed it. sighing, he replied to Kellin's mom agreeing to tutor him daily, for two hours everyday for a week. It was an easy 100$ a month, and it was 2 hours a day, he could survive it. Plus, he could fix things with Kellin and let the other boy know that he truly did want to apologize to him.

Kellin Knew that he had to go through with the tutoring. Going back to Oaky Hills was not something he wanted. That place was a miserable sack of shit. They doped everyone up and kept them like Zombies so that they did what the doctors wanted, but they never learned anything, or actually talked. Kellin was Miserable there, His roommate was weird, and when he woke up, he would find his roommate in his bed, with no recollection of the past day, and it scared him.
He started to realize that his roommate was up to no good, and was drugging him, and making him do things when no one was around to stop it. After that, Kellin refused to take medications, refused to sleep and to eat. He lost weight, and slowly deteriorated until the doctors realized something was wrong, and that was 2 months later, after Kellin had not fallen for the drugs his roommate tried to make him take, and he was conscious and aware of what his Roommate had done to him.
The doctors made him talk about it, but he didn't want to, he wanted to forget about it and leave that miserable place forever and never ever return. Doing the tutoring was a shot at not returning to that miserable Asylum that was said to be cheerful and good for young adults.
Throwing his backpack on his bed as he went into his room, he closed his door, locked it and leaned against it. His emotions were all over the place, and he had no clue what to feel or think. It was all too much, all at once. There was several options he had to fix himself, but he went with the fastest, or at least one that would last the longest, his medication that he had not been taking for at least the past week.
Taking out two pills, he dry swallowed them and waited for them to kick in. Within 20 minutes, they took affect and he began to get sleepy and zone out easily, as his medications made him do quite easily. See, He had a schizoaffective disorder, as well as intermittent explosive disorder. One made him have mood swings, while the other would have him blow up and rage for periods of time. Lithium, his one and only medication, treated both, and kept him balanced, or at least were supposed to. His rage disorder had appeared over time after his stay at Oaky hills. In his mind, he didn't think he really had a problem, he believed that the source of his problems was just no one understanding him. His mom did her best to understand her son's disorders, but she didn't understand how Suicidal he could get at times, he kept it to himself.
No one knew about the self harm, that he did when he had hit a very low, low. Most of the time he's disconnected from reality, but when he is connected, he's either having a manic low, or a manic high. He never had anything in-between, calm, but that was because he never took his medication, and that, that was his own fault.
Getting in bed, he tried to sleep, but it would not come. It may have been early in the afternoon, but he ached and wanted to sleep away everything. Getting up, he closed his blinds, and then grabbed his favorite blanket. Since he was a child, the one place he could always fall asleep in was his closet. wrapping the blanket around himself, he curled up in the closet and closed his eyes, trying to find sleep.
