Chapter 2
*3 am*
"I'm going ouuuuuut" Baekhyun slurred, standing up from his seat and stumbling towards the door.
"Piss off" Chen snapped, glaring at the boy as he stood up.
"Euuurgh" Baekhun moaned in reply.
"Chen, What's wrong now?" Tara said.
"Just leave me alone" Chen says as he strode out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
"Shtop being a shpoil shport" Baekhyun yelled behind him.
"Just calm down a bit okay?" Hyewon said, trying to pull him onto the sofa.
"The night is shtill young~. I'm leaving losers" Baekhyun shouted, suddenly sprinting outside of the room.
"Seriously, what's with that idiot?" Hyewon muttered, running through the door after him.
Tara was left by herself in the living room, staring at the ashes of the fire which had now died.
She could here Hyewon screaming at Baekhyun outside, glancing out the window to see her chasing after the boy who was wading through a pile of snow.
After a few minutes she returned back to the living room, her face pink with frustration.
"He's bad enough when he's sober, why do we let him drink?"
Tara chuckled but her mind was filled with thoughts about Chen. Was he really okay?
After Baekhyun had disappeared, the girls went back to their room, not hearing from Chen for the rest of the night.
When the sun rose the next day, the pain in their heads settled in and Chen finally left his room to find something to drink at around 7am.
Everyone looked at him, astonished by his sudden appearance however he ignored them and went straight to the fridge.
Tara was fed up by now, choosing to ignore him.
"Where did he end up?" Chen questioned, pointing to the door.
"Baekhyun? I don't know he ran off somewhere and must have caught a taxi" Hyewon replied, soon turning back to the tv.
Chen nodded, not questioning any further.
"Where's the coffee?" Chen asked, reaching into the cupboard to search for it.
"I'm not sure, Baekhyun was meant to pick it up" Hyewon muttered.
"We won't have any then" Chen sighed, shutting the door and turning to the girl with a look of annoyance.
As the least hungover Hyewon volunteered to get some coffee, grabbing a cardigan from the stairs and pulling it over her shoulders before leaving the house.
"I'll be back in about half an hour" She shouted.
Once Hyewon had closed the door she walked along the path towards town, the snow crunching with each step she took.
The wind was blowing hard, whistling around her ears and causing the leaves to fly across the ground in front of her. She pulled the cardigan tighter around her body and sped up to avoid the crisp air.
After walking through the town, looking inside each window, she finally spotted the sign for a coffee shop.
She jogged over to it and opened the door as quickly as she could, hiding from the cold outside.
The smell of coffee beans immediately surrounded her and she looked around at the almost empty cafe.
"I guess it's not very busy today" she muttered.
Staring at the drinks sign she searched for the price of an Americano, glancing up at the guy behind the counter.
"Hallo" she smiled as she looked at his face.
(God he's handsome. If I'd known boys looked like this over here then I would have come a long time ago)
"Hi, what do you want to order?" he replied, smiling widely at the girl.
She stared at the sign for a second, immediately looking back at him in shock.
"You speak Korean?" she asked, feeling like an idiot for attempting another language.
"Yeah, I used to live there so-" he replied, chuckling as Hyewon's cheeks turned pink.
"Thank god, I had no clue how to order" she interrupted, trying to hide her embarrassment.
He stared at the girl before speaking, looking at the cute smile which was covering her mouth.
"What do you want to order then?" he asked, pressing a few buttons on the till.
"Four Americanos please"
He nodded, turning away from her and started grabbing some cups. Hyewon noticed that he was much taller than her and had blonde hair which hung over his eyes slightly.
She heard the bell on the door ring, watching as the only other person in the cafe wandered along the street.
There were big windows all around the shop and the outline of the mountains could be seen faintly through the furthest window.
There were big curtains draped on either side and lots of rugs placed around the place, all with different patterns.
Although the furniture was mismatched it didn't look strange, giving the place a homely feel.
There were some bar stools on one side of the counter and on top there was a selection of different cakes, covered in decorations.
The machine the guy was stood at began whistling, drawing Hyewon's eyes back to where he was stood.
He was filling the final cup with coffee and had three others placed next to him, balancing on the edge of the counter.
She gazed at the cup balancing and noticed as it began to wobble slightly, soon toppling over onto the ground.
The guy swore and leaned down to pick up the now empty cup as a loud rumbling sound beginning outside and the ground began shaking more rapidly, causing decorations on the other side of the shop to fall.
Hyewon focused on the window, seeing a white cloud billowing towards them. Snow was pouring off the edge of the mountain covering it completely and it began racing towards the building.
"Crap" the guy shouted, pulling Hyewon by the hand into a store cupboard where he dropped to the ground.
She couldn't see the window, but the thundering became a lot louder. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest and her eyes darted around the room.
"W-what's going on?" She stuttered, stopping at the boy next to her.
He held an equally worried expression but squeezed her hand as he answered.
"I think it's an avalanche"
"What?" She shrieked, shuffling closer to him and holding his hand tighter.
"I've never seen one before either, but it definitely seems like it" he answered
"What do you mean?"
A loud bang resonated throughout the building as the snow slammed against the building, blocking all exits with a pile a snow.
Hyewon fell back in shock, landing on top of the boy next to her and hiding her face in his chest as her body began to shake.
The noise outside began to quieten down until eventually, all you could hear was the two figures breathing heavily.
"Is it finished?" Hyewon asked, glancing up at the boy and realising for the first time where she was sat.
She pushed herself away and the boy stood up leaving the room for a second to check.
Hyewon sat there on the ground, a complete mess of tears.
Her hair was all over the place and she clenched her hands into fists, attempting to stop them from shaking.
After a few minutes, the boy walked back in, his face pale and his hands running through his hair.
"Is it over" she questioned, looking up with hopeful eyes.
"You might want to look for yourself" he muttered with a serious expression.
