"Mom! I'm going out!" Jenna grabbed her purse and put her phone in it, then started walking downstairs to the door. She did one last check in the mirror, fixing her hair slightly and smoothing out her purple dress. Chloe and Brooke has set her up on a blind date, and she didn't wanna show up late.
"To go where?" Her mom called from the kitchen, most likely washing some dishes.
Jenna sighed. "To go hang out with Brooke and Chloe!" She lied quickly. This was believable, since she hung out with them so often.
"Okay, but be back soon!"
"Yes ma'am." Jenna started opening the door.
"And be careful!"
"Got it!" She quickly left before her mom could add anything else. She started walking down the sidewalk, humming softly to herself. This date was going to be at some theatre, so she was a little worried about getting bored.
She was actually more than just a little nervous; who knows who Chloe and Brooke set her up with. This could be a total disaster!
She told herself to calm down and just continued on her walk. She soon reached the theatre and started looking around for the girl. Chloe had described her as short with tan skin and short black hair...
"Hello!"
Jumping up in surprise a little, Jenna turned around to see that the voice that had spoken was a girl that fit exactly that description. She was wearing a light pink sleeveless dress with flower print on it and some white high heels, though they weren't very high. She was also smiling a lot. "Are you Jenna Rolan...?" She asked sheepishly, a smile on her face.
"Yep! So you're Christine...?" Jenna asked. She had to admit, Christine looked really pretty.
Christine nodded. "Yep! That's me! And I hope you like musicals!" She pulled out two tickets from her purse. "I have two tickets for Wicked!"
"I don't actually like musicals that much..."
"...." Christine just let out a small giggle. "Well, that's okay! It doesn't matter who you're listening to, it's who you're listening with!" She started motioning Jenna over as she walked closer to the theatre. "C'mon!"
Jenna blushed a bit and followed. Christine was... interesting to say the least. How did Chloe and Brooke even know her? Whatever. Just as long as she didn't fuck anything up, this would be good.
Once they were inside and had given their tickets and taken their seats, they were mostly awkwardly silent until the show started. Jenna wasn't paying much attention. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to take a small nap. She had closed her eyes until they shot back awake.
She felt Christine's hand holding onto hers.
That was enough to keep Jenna awake the whole time, actually even paying attention a little to the show. Once the musical was over and they got up, Christine looked at Jenna with a bright smile. "Were you bored at all?"
Jenna was still holding onto to Christine's hand as she shrugged. "It wasn't the worst thing, so pretty good." She tried to act cool.
"Well, I have tickets to Guys and Dolls in two weeks..." Christine looked hopeful at Jenna. "Would you maybe like to go..?"
"... of course!" Jenna smiled as they walked out of the theatre.

"... and that is how I met your mama!" Jenna smiled down at a small girl, no older than eight years old.
The girl giggled. "Wow, Mommy! You really stayed awake through something you didn't like just because of Mama?"
Jenna nodded softly and kissed her forehead. "Time for bed, Adelaide."
"Awww!" Adelaide pouted. "I wanna her more about Mama..."
"And I promise you will, but it'll have to be tomorrow!" Jenna gave her daughter one last hug before starting to leave the room. "I love you sweetie..."
Adelaide snuggles under the covers. "Love you too, Mommy!"
Jenna left the door cracked open and sighed as she walked to the living room. She looked over at a picture of her, Christine, and Adelaide, who was only around three, sitting in a picture frame on the table in front of her. They looked so happy in it. Jenna picked up the neatly framed photo and smiled softly, tears pricking her eyes.
"I miss you, Chrissy..." she sighed.
