Craig, Derek and Luke enter the cinema. Trevor Conrad stands on the concession counter.

TREVOR

Nobody panic. The ice machine has been fixed. Ice cold drinks for everyone. If you purchase an ice cold drink.

Trevor exhales and attempts to climb off the counter without harming himself. Craig approaches Trevor with Luke and Derek following his lead.

CRAIG

Excuse me. Hi. Can we speak with the manager?

TREVOR

My uncle is currently out at the moment, but he's asked me to take over as acting manager. I'm Trevor Conrad, also known as Popcorn boy. What can I help you with?

LUKE

We're looking for jobs. We heard you were hiring. You are hiring, right?

TREVOR

Yes. Here at the Royal Cinema we are always looking for friendly faces to...uh...

Trevor digs into his pocket and pulls out a blue, wrinkled Royal Cinema napkin with black ink scribbled all over it. He squints at the tiny, smudged words.

TREVOR

En...Em?

DEREK

Can you just give us the applications?

TREVOR

Absolutely.

Trevor reaches behind the counter, grabs three clipboards, and hands one to each of them.

TREVOR

I know one of you will be a great asset to the Royal team.

CRAIG

Wait. One of us?

TREVOR

There's only one position available.

Luke hangs his arms over his brother's shoulders.

LUKE

I guess that means you two are going to have to find your own jobs (to Trevor) When do I start?

Derek slaps Luke's arm away.

DEREK

Whoa, hold on. What makes you think you're going to get the job?

LUKE

I called dibs. Besides, hello. I am the premium theater guy. I know everything there is to know about feature films. Ask me anything.

CRAIG

Okay, big shot. What was the evil knight's real name in Sword of the Galaxy Empire?

LUKE

Brahm the 42ned of Plant X19. (yawning) Next.

DEREK

Who was the third guy on the left next to the guy on the bike in the fifth scene of Mega Motor Mania 4?

LUKE

Ha! Trick question. It was a girl. Gretchen. AKA Baby Light Wheels.

TREVOR

Nice work.

LUKE

Does that mean I'm in?

TREVOR

No. Fill out that paperwork and I will call you in for individual interviews.

Trevor backs into the counter and knocks down the castle of golden yellow cups.

TREVOR

I've got it!

He dives to the floor and gathers them back up. Craig takes his brothers aside.

CRAIG

Before we get into any more arguments, let's remind ourselves that there are plenty more jobs out there for each of us.

Derek flips through the application.

DEREK

Do they all pay nine bucks an hour with free movie privileges?

Craig is tempted but keeps his cool.

CRAIG

Doesn't matter. We have to act like professionals. This is about the car, remember? Let's keep in mind that this is not a competition.

Luke and Derek stare each other down as they fill out their applications.

CRAIG

Guys? (to self) We are doomed.
