Chapter eight

FLASHBACK

I didn't have any sleep last night, how could I? On this day it was gonna make it five years since my mom passed. Five years and yet it seemed like it was just yesterday she passed away and told me she loved me. It still felt like it was yesterday I attended her funeral. It was still a fresh wound. Her memory was still fresh.

I was awake even before my alarm rang, I turned it off and sat up. Today was gonna be a bad day, I could tell. I didn't want to get up from bed today, I couldn't believe it had been five years. I opened my drawer and pulled out the small photo frame of her, she was smiling widely in it as if dad had said something really funny when taking this. I smiled but yet my chest hurt, I felt my chest tighten and soon the tears fell. I hugged her photo, holding it against my chest as I laid back on the bed and cried like I always did on this day.

You would think after five years someone would be over this, how could I? It had just been FIVE. It could even be twenty and I'd still cry. I hated this day so much.

Why'd she have to leave? Why'd she have to die and leave me to feel empty? I miss her so much.

I couldn't hold back my tears as I cried and held the photo frame tighter. My phone rang and I knew it was Alex calling me to check on me, I couldn't answer just yet. I wiped off my tears and picked up my phone from the top of the drawer.

It was her.

I sniffed and decided to fake being okay. "Hey,"

"Hey. Baby, how are you?"

"Great. I'm fine." I answered, sounding as cheerful as I could.

"You're not okay, are you?"

"I am."

"Elvis." She called my name softly and i couldn't pretend anymore, my heart felt like it'd be stabbed.

I cried.

"I miss her, Alex."

"I know you do." She replied softly, I shook my head.

"No. She's supposed to be here, she's supposed to be here for my graduation and make breakfast and tell me she loves me and come to my wedding but...but she's not...she's not here, Alex. What am I gonna do?"

"What you've always been doing for the past five years, sweetie. Be strong. You need to be strong for your mother if you want her where she is, baby."

I shook my head, unable to say anything as I cried.

"It's okay sweetie, I'm here."

I did nothing but cry for fifteen minutes and Alex didn't once leave, she spoke to me and comforted me through the phone. My father used to always come into the room and we'd stay up in my bed and talk about mom and then he'd bring up the funny memories and make me laugh then cry but I guess not today.

I had showered afterwards and put on a black shirt and black pants. I needed to be ready, dad and I were gonna go to the cemetery to visit her and drop a flower. We always did this and I needed to look great for her. I packed my hair into a man-bun and walked outta my room, shutting my door behind me. I knew he'd have to be downstairs, we needed to leave early so we could come back on time and watch Titanic, mom's favorite movie.

So, more tears. Yayyyno.

"Oh, you look good." June said as she walked out of her room and began walking beside me, dressed in a mini skirt and a blue crop top.

I ignored her and kept walking towards the stairs and down.

"Are we going somewhere?" She asked and I sighed, I stopped on my tracks and turned to her.

"Yes. I'm going somewhere with my dad, going to see my mom."

June knitted her brows. "Isn't she like....dead and now nothing but dust?"

"Like your brain, huh?" I flashed her a smile and kept walking down the stairs, Davian was laying on the couch and watching Star wars on TV. I walked past him and he quickly sat up.

"Look who looks like an ancient vampire."

"Better than looking like a waste of sperm." I retorted.

"Hey, kiddo." Dad smiled at me as he put down the file he was reading.

"So, are you ready? We need to leave."

He blinked. "Oh shoot! I lost track of time." He said and looked at his watch. "Sorry, I just need like five minutes and then we can leave."

"You're not even dressed yet, five minutes won't do that." I chuckled. "I'm giving you ten to get dressed."

Dad smiled and stood up. "Yes, Mr. Giroud." He said and walked over to me, he kissed my forehead and looked at me with a proud smile.  "Your mother would be so proud if she could see how handsome her son grew up to be, taking all her features and thank God for that because his father is ugly."

I snorted. "Stop. You're not ugly, you're just old."

"Um, ouch."

I laughed. "Go get dressed, Mr. Giroud."

"On it." He said and turned to go.

"Babe." Clarissa the devil called and walked out of the kitchen and towards us, her heels clicking on the ground. "Why are you not dressed?" She asked as she fixed her earrings.

Father sighed while I frowned. "I know I know, Elvis already scolded me and I'm about to go get dressed."

"Good. Because my parents are gonna be here soon." She said.

"Papa's coming?" Davian and June asked.

"Yes, now get up and go get dressed." She ordered them.

A frown worked it's way into Dad's face. "Your parents are coming?"

Clarissa looked at Dad like he was crazy for asking that. "Yes, darling. I told you this last night, they're coming to town."

"No, you didn't."

"No. I can swear I did say so."

"Oh." He blinked. "I'm sure I'd remember."

"Babe. This is not the time. I need you go freshen up before they arrive."

"Um, but-" Dad looked at me.

"Baby, please." She kissed him. "They're gonna be here soon and I need us to welcome them."

"Now?"

Clarissa nodded.

I knew my father, he was never gonna agree with this. It was his first wife's memorial, he wouldn't.

"But we have to go visit Elvis's mom."

I chirped in this time. "Yes we do, and we are in fact late. Go get dressed father so we can leave now."

Clarissa's face suddenly was filled with a sad expression. "Oh, I apologize then. I understand. Never mind, I'll um...I'll just explain to them that you had to do something more important than meeting them." She said, faking a smile and making it very obvious to him that she was fake smiling.

She was manipulating him.

"I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind, Clarissa." I smiled at her.

She glared before turning it to a smile. "Of course, I'll just...greet them. Alone." She said and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry for disturbing, I didn't remember today was your wife's memorial and I just...they wanted to see us and see how happy their daughter is with her husband and—"

Wait, was she....was she pretending to be crying right now?

Oh my God.

"Clarissa." Dad placed his hands on her shoulders as she looked down, letting out those crocodile tears. "Don't cry. It's okay. I'll see your parents," I frowned. "Maybe when we both return then we can see them."

"Yeah, it's just....they'll be here for just like an hour or two and then leave almost immediately as they have to go to Mexico for a vacation, they are only gonna be here an hour and I don't want you to miss them but I also understand that seeing his mother is also important."

"Oh." Dad gulped, looking helpless. "Since it'll be just an hour or two then yeah, we can wait, right?" He looked at me. "And then after they leave we can go."

"Um, absolutely not." I chuckled. "And what if my father had to travel today for a meeting seeing as he didn't know since you didn't mention it, then what? Wouldn't your parents have come either way?" I cocked my brows at him.

"Well yes, but he was informed, Elvis. Don't do what you're trying to do."

"And you should?"

"Elvis." Dad called.

"You're really not going to visit mom?"

"Elvis, it's been five years. If you keep visiting her your pain won't heal." Clarissa said softly and I turned swiftly to her with a glare.

"Watch your mouth now, Clarissa." I sneered.

"Elvis. Listen, I know this is all of a sudden but we'll still go. They just have to come and then we say hi and we go see her."

"So all she does is cry some fake tears and manipulate you into staying and not going out with your son to see his dead mother and you suddenly fall for it and decide to stay home to wait for people who didn't even call you to tell you they were coming to see their son in-law? Sounds odd to me." I said, I could feel the anger in my voice but I kept my tone calm yet filled with pain.

"Elvis, I didn't-"

"I don't care." I shrugged, cutting him off. "You can stay here with her and wait for her parents to come and then you can have a nice meal with them and pretend nothing happened on this day, also forgetting your duty and promise to your son." I said and tapped my knuckles on the table severally. "This day only happens once and we spend it together, it's supposed to be our time."

"Elvis honey, I-"

"Don't." I rose my hand, stopping Clarissa from speaking. "You've done enough, don't you think?" I said, raising my voice a little, I was so mad at her. I wanted her to die. I wanted her to burn. To feel the pain that I was feeling today. "Today is a day in my life when I finally get to spend time with my dad and see my mom with him. Today's supposed to be a special day," my voice cracked as I felt my throat tighten.

"It is a special day, and you know that but still, you don't even care! All you do is try to ruin my life. My father's and my relationship!" My voice rose higher in anger, tears threatened to fall but I didn't care. "You went as far as ruining this day for me. Don't you have any conscience you fucking psycho bitch!"

"Elvis! Stop!" Dad shouted.

"You've done a great job. Your performance is amazing." I clapped for her, ignoring Dad. "But I hope one day you die of guilt. You've taken everything away from me, even my father so why don't you do everyone a favor AND TAKE MY LIFE AS WELL SO IT'D END AND I'LL GO BE WITH THE ONE PERSON WHO LOVES ME IN THIS WORLD!" I cried. "Cause I hate you so much."

"Elvis," dad walked to me. "You know that's not true, I do love you. I do, okay." He tried to place his hands on my shoulders but I moved away from him. He looked hurt but I didn't care.

I shook my head. "No, you only think you love me because I'm your son. You're so into your new family that your own son don't even matter to you anymore or the woman you visit once every year that supposedly meant so much to you." I sniffed and wiped my tears.

"That's not true."

I nodded. "It is, so please do have dinner with her parents. I'm not gonna wait for you, I won't betray mom's trust and I'm always going to go see her and will go now. And I don't give a shit what anyone says!" I shook my head at him. "Mom would be turning in her grave at this but sure, stay with her." I said and turned, walking away as I cried, letting the tears fall. I ignored his calls and Davian's snickers.

I hated this family.

I thought maybe he'd show up since I spent three hours there, but he never did.

Alex did.

And Clarissa's parents never showed up either.

Flashback ends.

Present Time.

I stared at myself in the mirror after dressing up for school, my left eye was black and it hurt whenever I touched it. It wasn't my first time getting a black eye from Davian but it sucked because I really was no match for him and i knew it. I sucked. Not only did I look girly but I couldn't even throw a manly punch.

I let my curly hair down, using it to hide my left eye, I didn't need anyone seeing how weak I was. I mean literally everyone knew my brother bullied me but no one cared.

The bystander effect.

Damn, I did look like my mom. I smiled at myself and looked at the photo of her I had put in my mirror. I let out a sigh and stared at my outfit once more, I really didn't care about how I dressed because even if I was in rags, I'd still look great. Alex's words.

I picked up my backpack and cellphone before exiting my room and going down the stairs and to the dinning.

"Good morning, Dad." I greeted before sitting across him.

"Hey kid, how are you?" He smiled.

I nodded. "Good, you?"

"Hungry." He said and I chuckled.

Davian was just staring at me and smirking, his eyes daring me to say anything to dad about the punch but of course my hair covered it. Clarissa was sitting beside dad and fixing her hair with a small mirror while June was typing away on her phone.

"June, no phones on the table." Dad instructed, June sighed and dropped her phone close to her plate with a big smile.

"Sorry, it's just Sasha from the team has tea, Dad. She's been texting all day." He didn't ask. " So, she's telling me how her boyfriend kissed her sister last night thinking it was her, I mean yeah your sister does look like you so can you blame the guy? Stop being dramatic" She snorted and rolled her eyes.

I blinked and turned slowly to June with a frown, I knew the Sasha she was talking about and whoever she was dating, was a cheat. "June, Sasha and Samantha look nothing alike." I stated.

June turned to me with knitted brows as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "What? Yes, they do." She huffed.

I blinked severally. "Sasha's Asian and Samantha's black."

They were both adopted since Mrs. Cooper couldn't have kids of her own.

June thought about it for a second with her mouth open, before gasping loud. "OMG!! Her boyfriend is such a cheat!" She exclaimed

I nodded and patted her shoulder. "Yeah."

"I need to tell Sasha that her sister is black and Denny is a pathetic, awful liar." She said and picked up her phone again, typing away

"I'm sure she already kn-never mind."

Dad looked at me and cracked a smile, he did want to laugh but didn't, I smiled back.

Sometimes June's stupidity surprised me.

Giselle was serving breakfast, stuffed French toast with berries on the top.

She was perfect.

"Good morning Giselle," I grinned at her. She smiled back at me and pinched my cheek, making me giggle.

"Good morning, baby boy. How was your night?"

"Great, thanks for asking." I grinned and looked over at Clarissa who was now fixing her lipstick. "Good morning, Clarissa."

She paused before looking at me and faking a smile. "Ah, Elvis. Good morning, you look good."

"You too." I fake smiled as well.

We began to eat and I made sure dad didn't see the dark shades at my eye because well, he was always blind.

We were done eating and I picked up my bag with a sigh. "I'm gonna go now."

"Oh, I'll drop you." Davian offered with a smile.

What was he up to? Was he trying to act nice in front of dad and then dump me in the middle of the road? No, thank you.

"Uh, I'll p-"

"Mm." Dad cleaned his mouth with the souvenir and stood up. "No need, Davian. I wanna show you all something, follow me." Dad said and stood up, I frowned and looked at Giselle who smiled at me as if she knew something. I followed Dad outside with Davian, Clarissa and June following closely.

When we got out, dad stopped walking and I looked over at him. "Yeah?"

He smiled at me and walked over to a car, a blue Audi! A FREAKING BLUE AUDI.

"I got a new car." He smirked.

"Wow! It's amazing." I blinked.

June gasped. "Oh my."

"Woah!" Davian chuckled in excitement. "Dad, you've gotta let me take this thing for a ride! Damn!" Davian said as he walked around the car, admiring it.

"It nice?" Dad asked us and I nodded.

"It's really beautiful, dear. Davian and June could take it on a ride." Clarissa said with a grin.

Of course.

"What'd you think, Elvis?" Dad asked and I smiled the more.

"It's beautiful. Blue. Mom's favorite color and mine too." I smiled. "Great choice."

Dad nodded, smiling. "I thought so too."

"Oh please, Dad. Let me take this to school!" Davian pleaded. "You already got so much cars, let this be an early birthday present, please!"

"Oh, it's not mine." Dad shook his head. "It's Elvis." He said and walked up to me, handing me a key.

I blinked, confused.

"What?" Clarissa, her kids and I said at the same time.

He nodded. "Yup, this is yours. You need your own ride so I got you one. I had to figure out what you'd love and I thought, a blue Audi." He shrugged. "Blue because your mother and you love blue and you are old enough to have one too."

I chuckled. "Dad, it's not April first so no April fools, please."

Dad laughed and shook his head. "It's yours, Elvis. I mean it. You deserve more than this car but let me start with this."

My smile faded, I was frozen at that spot.

Dad got me a car.

I have a car.

A blue Audi!

AN AUDI!

I took the key from his hand and looked up to see him smiling, I let out a squeal as I jumped around and ran to the car. "Oh MY GOD! OH MY GOD! AN AUDI! AHHHH! GISELLE!" I looked over at her, standing beside an angry slash shocked looking Clarissa.

I ran to her to show her the keys. "Gisele! I have a car now!" I excitedly screamed, laughing and admiring it. "Oh my God, thank you Dad!" I said and ran back to him, giving him a tight hug. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

He laughed.

I was more than happy, I couldn't stop smiling. My adrenaline rush was high, I couldn't stay in one place.

"You're welcome, son." Dad laughed and held me.

"Babe, isn't that...too much? I mean, too expensive?" Clarissa said and I shot her a glare, she was gonna manipulate him into thinking it was much. "I mean, Davian drives one nor as expensive as this and it's too much for a seventeen year old."

Dad shook his head. "I don't think so. You said it was amazing and I believed you so here it is, for Elvis." Dad smiled at me.

I grinned.

Ooooh, the magic is wearing off. Haaa!

Davian was so angry, his eyes were dark and filled with jealously. He looked like he wanted to kill someone so quick, his fists were clenched and I smiled at that.

June was admiring my car and was already taking photos and doing Snapchat videos with my car, along the lines I heard her say 'this is my brother, Elvis's car.'

"Come on, you guys are gonna be late. Why don't you take it to school." Dad said with a smile.

I nodded and with a squeal, rushed over to my car. I got in and I kept letting out heavy breaths, I was too excited. The seats were comfortable, everything in her was perfect. I placed my hands on the steering and giggled. "Wow." I breathed.

I inserted the key and started the engine, this was like music to my ears. My heart was filled with joy.

"June! Let's go!" Davian snarled at her as he got into his car.

She snorted. "Uh, hell no. I'm not going with you, I'm going with Elvis." She said and flipped her hair, I was a bit taken aback, it made me want to laugh but I didn't and just looked at Davian with that same face that was shoving back a laugh but had a big smile. June turned to me. "I'm coming in."

I nodded. "Well, get in."

She giggled and rushed to sit in the passenger's seat. "Oh my, your car is so dope." she said with a gasp before buckling her seatbelt.

"I love you, Dad!" I yelled out to him.

"Love you too." He smiled.

Davian drove out angrily with full speed and I just felt glad. He punched me and I get an Audi the next day? Life is amazing.

That sounds like an abusive relationship but you get the gist.

I drove to school screaming the lyrics to Rihanna's Te amo with June who had her hands in the air, both of us wearing our sunglasses.

June could never be understood, I mean I know she's a sweet, naive, amazing girl but her mother and brother's influence was turning her into something she wasn't at first. That was something I could see.

"Woah," she giggled as she stepped out of my car the same time as me. "Thanks for the ride, stepbrother."

"You're welcome, step...sister." I frowned.

She giggled and walked away.

"Hey, Elvis. Sup." Alex smiled as she made her way towards me, dressed as Alex. Black dress, black socks and boots, black eye shadow and a serpent necklace.

"Hey." I smiled at her.

"How are-" she paused and stared at the Audi beside me. "Woah, I wonder who got a new car." She chuckled. "This is a good car."

I grinned. "Well, maybe after school we can go for a ride." I smirked.

"How can we go for a ride in someone else's c-" it clicked and her eyes widened. "Elvis, are you saying this is your-"

I rose the key up to her face with a smile and wiggled my brows.

She screamed. "Oh my word!! Wait, did you steal this?"

I rolled my eyes. "No! Dad surprised me with this, this morning."

She gasped. "Oh bloody Satan! This is neat!" She said as she touched the car and looked at it. "My best friend has an Audi!" She sang and danced a little.

I laughed.

"Oh my," she turned to me. "Tell me everything, especially your stepmother an step siblings reaction. Those are my favorite parts."

"Okay, so." I began as we walked into the school. "Clarissa was all like; darling, don't you think this is too expensive and this was after she had suggested Davian take it to school!"

"Imagine the stupid woman!"

"I know!" I exclaimed as well. "She tried to manipulate Dad but the spell don't work no more."

Alex grinned. "Thank Satan."

I shook my head. "No, I'm not. Anyways, she wanted Dad to take it away and Davian was so furious that the car was mine."

"He deserves to be eliminated."

I chuckled. "And June, she rode with me. Didn't want to get into Davian's car and that made his anger worse."

Alex laughed as we approached her locker. "I wish I was there to have seen this. I'm so glad he got you a car. Blue. He's coming back to his senses."

I nodded. "Yeah, I wish I had met Jesse earlier. This plan of his is working, it hasn't even been a month and I got a car. Something I have wanted for years and even told dad about but he wouldn't give me one."

"The lord is by your side." She said as we stopped at her locker.

I snickered. "Enough about me. Now, how was your date?"

Alex smiled as she unlocked her locker and looked at me. "It was magnificent. Finn is funny and cute and-" she paused as she looked at me, her dreamy look turned into a frown.

"What?" I asked, confused.

She reached out her hand and pushed my hair backwards, showing my black eye.

"Ally, stop." I said and brought it down again.

"Oh my God, Elvis!"

"It's nothing." I sighed.

"You have a black eye. It's something. Who hit you?"

"Al-"

"It was Davian, wasn't it?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

She slammed her locker shut and began storming away when I rushed to her and held her hand, twirling her to face me.

She was mad.

"No. No."

"Let me go, I'll make sure to give both of his eyes bruises."

"Alex, leave it. He's only gonna hit me the more at home. I like my pretty face."

She sighed. "I hate him."

"Me too, sweetie. Me too." I sighed as well. "But at least i got a blue Audi." I smiled

"Don't change the subject. Are you gonna let him go free after doing this to you?"

I nodded slowly. "It's not the first time."

"It should be the last."

I sighed again. "I'll think of something, Now let's go back to your locker and then to class."

"You're lucky I love you." She said and walked past me.

I grinned. "I love you too."

♚ ♚

Today I was popular all because I had an Audi. People would smile at me and tell me my car was nice, girls were even hitting on me but I just shrugged them off, thankfully I had Alex by my side. Throughout all I'd hear was people greeting me, all cause I had an Audi?

Alex and I were seated on our table at lunch talking about how Elvis had become more famous in just few hours when a guy approached our table.

"Hey," he greeted with a smirk

"Chase, hey." Alex greeted with a smile.

"Nice necklace." He smiled at her.

"Thanks, I would order you one but your parents are Jesus freaks."

Chase chuckled.

"H-Hi." I stuttered, trying to keep my composure.

"Hey, uh I saw your ride, it's pretty dope."

"thankyouverymuch." I rushed..

Alex and Chase both frowned, they didn't hear me.

"I said, thank y-you very much." I slowed down.

I really hate how I act when he's around but right now Chase was smiling at me with his pretty brown eyes and God did he smell so good. He was wearing a v-neck long sleeve and a small silver chain.

My crush for Chase never died ever since that night.

And the sad part of this whole crush story is the fact that Chase has a girlfriend. The rudest bitch in our beloved school.

Pearl.

She was beautiful too but what Chase didn't know was that Pearl wasn't a committed, honest girlfriend. She was sleeping with Davian, my step brother.

Sad drawing.

"I'm glad you got one, you deserve that." He said and I smiled.

"Yeah, thanks. If you wanna....you know...go for a ri—"

Alex quickly placed her hand on mine, stopping me. "Chase, can we talk later? I need to take Elvis to the principal in a bit."

Chase nodded.  "Sure, uh, I'll see you guys later." And with that he walked away.

"Jesus, Elvis. You really become stupid when that white boy is around." Alex said and I threw a fry at her.

"Shut up. He's just so hot, I can't take it."

"He's like basic." She grimaced. "And you were about to ask him to take your car for a ride, are you mad?" She smacked my back.

"Ow!"

"That man also has a girlfriend but maybe if he kisses you he'll know you're the one."

"They've been dating for two years." I stated.

"And she's been giving her pussy to that pussy called Davian." She huffed. "We just tell him and he'll break up with her and you'll just date him."

"I'm not even sure he's....you know?" I shrugged, not wanting anyone to hear.

Alex's brows knitted. "What? Gay?" She said it out without even caring, I had to look around to make sure no one hears.

"Seriously, Alex."

"Sorry." She apologized as she ate her meal.

"Hey!" Finn came from behind and sat next to Alex. "Hi."

I smiled. "Finn!! Hi!"

"Hey, Elvis. Looking good."

"Yeah, whatever." I chuckled.

"To what do I owe this visit?" Alex asked and flipped her gorgeous hair backwards, arching a brow at Finn.

"I just wanted to give you this." Finn said and unzipped his backpack, he took out a small box and handed it to Alex. "Open it when I'm gone, I'll see you later." I knew he wanted to kiss her but he just wasn't sure if to, I could see it in his eyes that he wanted to. However, he just smiled, stood up with his backpack and left.

"He's gone. Open it." I smirked, leaning in to see.

Alex rolled her eyes at me and opened the box, letting out a huge gasp.

"What is it? What is it?"

"Oh my God! Wow." Alex was clearly shocked and smitten by whatever she got. I leaned closer and she showed me what was inside the box, it was a silver necklace with her name on it and below the l and e was a small skull.

Definitely something Alex would like, I can't relate.

"Oh wow. A skull with your name, so romantic." I didn't mean for it to come out as sarcastic and blank as it did, but I couldn't fake an excitement when I didn't get the devil thing.

Alex was a sucker for things like this so Finn getting her this obviously made her happy. "How do I ever pay him back?" She asked with a big smile as she held the necklace.

"Send him some ass photos."

Alex swiftly looked up at me with a disgusted expression and I laughed.

"I'm kidding."

"You fucking better be."

"Elvis!" I heard Jesse call, we turned to our left and saw him running towards us. Dressed in a white crop top that had the words 'GAY' written boldly with a pair of blue jeans and his facebeat. "You got a blue Audi!!" He squealed as he sat beside me.

"How does everyone know that? Why do people even care?"

"Are you kidding? You're asking how everyone know that? In case you didn't know, your stepsister is popular and you'd be surprised by the amount of people that follows her on Snapchat." He snorted.

"You follow June on Snapchat?" Alex asked with arched brows.

"Yeah, don't you?"

"Bitch, I don't even have Snapchat."

I laughed.

"Why follow a dummy if you have one?" Alex asked with a little chuckle.

"That's why I follow her, stupid. She's pretty, yes but we also wait for her to post a photo and put a caption, eighty nine percent of it are always hilarious because she says the stupidest things." He giggled. "Like yesterday, she posted a photo of her holding a coconut and she said coconuts are made by black people because it's kind of black and reminds her of Will Smith."

"Woah!"

"Wow." I blinked.

"Wait till you hear how she thinks SpongeBob is gay because he has so many holes." Jesse cackled.

"That does kinda make sense." Alex muttered.

"Yeah, plus have you seen hun with Squidward? It's a little suspicious." I shrugged.

"You three are insane." Jesse said.

"Back to the will smith thingy. That's racist. Did she even know that that was racist?" Alex asked, frowning.

"June being June? I doubt she does." I answered with a shrug.

Jesse nodded. "She got a lot of backlash but no one really blames her cause they know she's got a screw loosed in her brain."

"One?" Alex huffed. "Baby, I'm sure it's just one holding the brain, she's lost a lot."

"She's charming, leave her alone." I chuckled.

Alex snorted. "Yeah, I can remember all the horrible things she's done to you. Like when she posted that photo of you wearing your clothes in your room and showed your ass, or when she made that video of Davian throwing your sleepy ass in the pool, her idea actually. I remember when she poured water on your bed and pants and called your dad to tell him you wet the bed. Don't even defend her."

"Wow!" Jesse blinked.

Alex was right. June was a monster of her own so remember when I said she was nice and sweet? Scratch that. She's evil too.

"Yeah, yeah." I mumbled and ran a hand through my hair. "She's Ursula's daughter after all."

"Woah. Woah." Jesse frowned and turned my head so I could face him like I was some kind of toy. "Black eye?"

Shit. I had forgotten, I quickly put my hair down to cover it again

"How?"

"Davian." Alex answered before I could. "Punched him hard and Elvis wouldn't do shit."

"Oh, you will."

"I don't need to." I sighed. "I'm used to it."

Jesse shook his head. "Well don't. This will be the last time he hits you and not be caught. You're gonna stop him from doing that."

I rolled my eyes. "I can't, I'm his punching bag. I've kinda got used to his fist colliding with my face."

"Not anymore." Jesse said firmly, he was hinting at something and even Alex knew that.

"What are you suggesting?" Alex asked with a devious smile.

"How about we play Damsel's Tag."

Alex and I exchanged looks for a second.

"What do you mean?" I asked him, sounding confused and suddenly interested.

"You're gonna make him punch you again," he smirked.

"What?" Alex wrinkled her nose.

"Clarissa knows when your dad would get home, so she knows when to push your button, and when you get mad, your Dad comes there in cue and she plays victim, right?."

I nodded. "Yeah, she's so good at that." I chuckled and rolled my eyes.

"What are you getting at?" Alex asked, sounding intrigued.

"So you're gonna put yourself in Clarissa's shoes and make Davian hit you," he paused and furrowed his brows. "Except this time, Daddy sees." He smirked evilly.

My brows shot up as I processed this and gave it a thought.

"Now, it's Davian who got tagged. You've passed it."

"You're smart." Alex said, grinning at Jesse.

"So?" Jesse asked me.

"Well, let's play the damsel's tag." I smirked.

Davian, you're it.
