🍦 Chapter 3 🍦
Last update for the week! Enjoy...
• FANGIRLS UNWANTED, DON'T YOU GET THE MEMO?! •
"You will be grouping yourselves in two for this project and your assignment would be to discuss one kidney or liver disease." The biology teacher, Iruka-sensei dropped the assignment on the class like it was nobody's business.
Everyone groaned because group projects were so annoying. Hinata was always at the end of the stick for assignments like this so her groan was probably the loudest. Nobody always wanted to pair with her and when they did, she ended up carrying majority of the workload.
"You would create a note for and prepare to lecture the class on the day of your exhibition. Find your partners everyone and one of you should meet me at the staff room to submit your names and get which disease you would be talking about. Class dismissed."
As soon as Iruka-sensei left the class, everyone flew to their best friends or brilliant students to partner up with them. Sakura, who had already permanently occupied her seat, was the first among many girls to get up and ask Sasuke to be her partner.
Everywhere was unnecessarily rowdy and noisy. All for the want of a dark haired boy's attention. Said raven stood up and immediately all the girls held their breaths, thinking that he was about to choose. He turned towards Sakura's direction and the rosette held back a squeal of delight. Sasuke-kun was going to choose her!
Or not.
Prince Charming walked right past her and stopped when he got to the seat of one lone girl. He kicked her chair. Hinata jumped at the sudden kick and looked up to see the offender only to be met with something she could only describe with one word- handsome.
This was the first time, she realized, she was getting a proper look at the Adonis called Sasuke Uchiha. His porcelain pale skin only made the dark colour of his eyes more pronounced and beautiful. They were a deep shade of gray with flecks of red in them, how unique.
His hair was not completely dark either, she was wrong about that. It was more of a deep, almost black, shade of blue than jet black. It was split into two long fringes that framed his face and tousled at the back of his head in a rather handsome way.
Now Hinata got the reason why the girls flocked around him. He was hot...but not in the 'oh Sasuke, I'll have your babies' sense. She had more brains than to come on to a guy like that. His pale pink lips moved. "You are my partner for this project." This was the first time he spoke. Ever.
"Uh?" Hinata articulated dumbly.
"Uh?!" The rest of the girls that had been pining for his attention screamed in disbelief. Whether they did so because of surprise from hearing Sasuke's voice or because he blatantly ignored them and chose a nobody, it was unclear.
Sakura blinked rapidly in puzzlement. "But Sasuke-kun, I asked first to be your partner." She complained and instantly other girls started complaining too. It was noisy and Sasuke ignored them all.
"Follow me." The dark haired beau told Hinata and walked out of the classroom promptly. Hinata scrambled to run after him if only to avoid the searing looks she got from her classmates.
"Uhm, not that I mind but why me?" She asked once she caught up with him. He was a fast walker so she had to jog to keep up with his pace.
"You're quiet." Sasuke replied her monotonously. Hinata got the hidden message at once. It said, 'don't bother me and I won't bother you either.'
"Right. I am quiet." She whispered to herself. The rest of the walk, or jog on Hinata's part, was silent just the way Sasuke wanted it to be. They got to the staffroom and did the necessary to get their assignments. They were to talk on Cirrhosis.
"Where are we meeting at for this?" Honestly, Hinata was surprised that Sasuke asked first. She had pegged him as the demanding type. This was a nice turn of events.
"I am good with anywhere and Saturday evenings." She replied.
"My house then. Give me your phone number." Sasuke passed her his phone, which she noted was the latest model in town and she typed in he phone number. Must be great to have a good phone. But really, all she needed a phone for was to make calls and reply Mebuki's demanding calls so she didn't need a better model.
"Here you go." Hinata handed his phone back carefully.
"Hn." He grunted and then left her presence as quickly as he appeared in it.
Ino and Sakura immediately pounced on her the moment they saw her. "You!" Ino yelled as they both walked over.
When they got close, Sakura gripped Hinata's shoulders and shook her in excitement. "How did you get Sasuke-kun to talk to you?! I have been trying for ages!" She half squealed, half demanded.
"What did you do? Have you been secretly talking to him or something?" Ino didn't share in her friend's excitement. She saw this as a competition and took it as one.
"Nothing of the sorts. He chose me because I was quiet..." Hinata explained but was cut off.
"As if!" Ino yelled initially but then her face contorted into something thoughtful. "You know, that might be true. Perhaps silent girls are Sasuke-kun's type!"
"Oh no." Sakura paled considerably. "I am anything but quiet!" She panicked. Hinata tried in vain to tell them that Sasuke just didn't want any troublesome fan breathing down his neck.
Ino placed her hand on her friend's shoulder encouragingly. "Duh bestie, you can be quiet! It's not too hard, Hina-whatever does it all the time, you'd practically think she's mute!" What an amazing pep talk. In the sarcastic sense. Hinata was starting to think that Ino didn't actually know her name.
Come Saturday evening, Hinata was at Sasuke's huge mansion. Sasuke was the one to get the door and the scowl on his face when he did was as deep as the canyons in the Hidden Cloud. "What are they doing here?" He spat less than nicely.
'I know that you didn't want fangirls on your case but I had no say in this matter.' Hinata replied mentally before doing so physically. "Hi, Sasuke-kun. We're sisters and we don't like being too much apart so we decided on a group study session." It was more of a perfectly rehearsed speech than honest words.
"Hi Sasuke-kun, I'm Sakura, Hinata's sister." Sakura was doing that thing again where her voice was high and saccharine sweet. Hinata much preferred her original voice to this fake doll voice but who was she to talk?"
"And I'm Ino, her best friend and partner. Thanks for having us over." Ino was also doing the same thing.
"It's my pleasure." Sasuke muttered dryly and surely very sarcastically before (reluctantly) ushering them in.
Sasuke's mother was a beautiful and very kind woman. It took no genius to see who Sasuke took after in his looks. But whereas Mikoto was cheerful and funny, Sasuke was grumpy and broody. Must be his father's genes.
Sakura sat beside Sasuke throughout the entire study session, and it was more useless talk and flirting attempts than studying that they did. Her sister and her friend's additional presence slowed down their work rate.
They at least managed to get some things down after a long while and Sasuke dismissed them all with a not so kind slam of the door. It was un-nice but if anybody were in the raven's shoes they would have done the same thing.
Somehow, that last slamming of the door part of the day and Sasuke's unresponsiveness in general rolled over Sakura and Ino's heads. They began to talk and giggle about how cute Sasuke was and how beautiful his mother was.
Sasuke was not the only one to wish that there were no more 'group study sessions' after this one. Not because Hinata didn't like Sakura and Ino, far from it, but because they would only slow them down and nothing would get done.
Between Mebuki's overbearing demands, babysitting Sakura, housework and schoolwork, Hinata was busy so she preferred to finish her project early.
Looking at Ino and Sakura though, Hinata could tell that her wish was just that- a wish. She sighed and ran after them both when they were about to leave her behind and drive off. Once again, they forgot she existed.

It's up to you to decide in this story whether Ino and Sakura are evil or not. So what do you think? Are they? Are they not?
