Chapter 3

"Wait," Cinderella laughed. "You're my fairy god mother?"

"Yup."

"Look, man, if this is some kind of a joke -"

"Do you want to go to the ball or not?" Britney set her hands on her hips, daring Cinderella with her sharp eyes.

Cinderella looked around the closet. In her anger, she ruined a lot garmets. Any hopes of adjusting any to fit her boney frame went out the window.

"I have the power to make your raggedy ass stand out. By the time I'm through with you, the prince will be obsessed with you."

Cinderella pondered on her words. Ever since she was a little girl, she dreamed about having a life with the prince in the royal castle.

She pictured walking through the doors, having the guards bow at her, while the prince stood up from his seat, bedazzled by her beauty.

Britney grinned at the sparkle in Cinderella's eyes. She circled her way behind her, and set her hands on her shoulders.

"Princess Cinderella," she whispered into her ear.

"Princess Cinderella..." Cinderella repeated as a smile lit up her face.

"The prince can be yours... forever."

"He is gayyyyyyy," Gus finally added his voice to the conversation.

Britney gasped upon seeing him among the clothes on the carpet. She shot a stunned look at Cinderella, who was glaring at Gus.

"Are you trying to die?" Cinderella asked Gus.

Gus waved his hands. "Look, we don't know this 'fairy god mother'. He could be a witch or worse!"

"It's she!" Britney exploded.

"Whatever," Gus retorted.

Britney crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

"The prince is not gay. I have seen him with women," Cinderella argued.

Britney moved in front of Cinderella, blocking her view of Gus. Her eyes bore into Cinderella's. Once again, she took hold of her shoulders.

"You're going to be late. So, are we going to do this or not?"

Cinderella nodded. "I can't miss the ball."

"Good girl!" Britney twirled, whipping Cinderella's face with her hair. "Aw, I'm so excited. We'll have to fix your hair, do your make-up." She bended over to Cinderella's bottom. "And do some ratata to that ass," she sang.

Cinderella's cheeks flushed red. She covered her bottom with her hands, turning her back to the wall.

Britney laughed. "Don't be ashamed. I'm here to help."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you've said that already. Get on with it." Gus scurried up a pile of dresses. "She doesn't have all night to discover that the prince ain't shit."

Cinderella growled, but Britney grabbed her wrist to force her attention back to her. "My services come with a price." Her tone was serious.

"I knew this bitch wasn't a fairy!" Gus blurted out.

Britney's eyes blinked red. "In exchange for a soul, I'll make you the most beautiful and influential woman in this kingdom," her voice took a deeper tone.

"A soul?! Rella, that's a demon. Don't bargain with it."

"So, what do you say, girl?"

Cinderella glanced at Gus. He shook his head vehemently at her. Bringing her gaze back to Britney, she rubbed her arm.

"I don't have any souls to offer to you. I killed the bitches I could have sacrificed."

"I can't believe you're seriously considering this -"

"Shut up!" Cinderella cut Gus off. "I don't have time to get you a soul," she said to Britney.

Britney stretched her lips, and slowly shook her head. "That's too bad. I guess my time here is up," her voice switched to a high pitch.

"Good riddance!"

Britney took out her wand from the sleeve of her dress. Cinderella's heart skipped a beat when she began to draw a portal in thin air.

"Wait!" she shouted.

Britney paused. She raised her brow at Cinderella. "Yes?"

"You can have Gus."

Gus' jaw dropped. "What?!"

Britney looked back at Jaq who had his hand on his heart, his eyes darting between her and Cinderella.

"You wanted a soul, right?"

"Yeah, but, a rat's?"

"It counts as a soul."

Britney breathed through her mouth. "Look, girl -"

"Please..." Cinderella put her hands together. She lowered her head. "I'm begging you."

Gus hopped off the clothes. "I am outta here," he said. However, before he could make it halfway to the door, it banged closed. He looked back at Britney holding up her hand. "Oh, no..." he trembled.

"A rat's soul is only going to get you three hours," Britney said.

Cinderella's eyes widened. "Three hours?!"

"Make sure you charm the prince and return here before midnight."

Cinderella gapped. "You can't be serious."

"Oh, but I am." Britney straightened her dress and positioned her wand. "Now stand still. You're about to become a princess."
