2: Morning
Cinderella's Point Of View
I got up early, like usual, at four in the warm, bright morning.
Correction, it was annoyingly cold. Freezing, might I add, but any more useless words about morning temperatures, and I won't be able to attack the mildew that's in the kitchen.
I got out of my bed and stretched before going to the window. I threw down the rope ladder and climbed down in seconds before running to the kitchen. In the kitchen, I grabbed my apron and tied my hair back and went straight to work by cleaning. As a working person, I slept with my everyday-dress on, but not to worry, I made sure everything is clean before going to sleep (yes, I have a thing for extreme cleanliness. That is why I feed the cat soap as punishment).
After an hour of cleaning the entire mansion, I fed the animals, and went to go get the cat. I walked straight into step-mother's bedroom and let the light in a little to shine on the cat.
"Lucifer." Instantly, he was up and bounded over to me. He was scared of me, and we both knew it.
"Get downstairs, Lucifer," I ordered sharply, my blue eyes piercing into his dark ones. He understood me, and he scampered downstairs fast.
Stupid cat.
Once I reached the kitchen, I gave him water (I am not wasting milk on a cat), made breakfast, and three pots of tea.
Some time later, I brought three trays of breakfast into my step-family bedrooms. Ugh, ever heard of getting up, tidying yourself, then actually going to the dining table? Hmph, I guess not.
Lazy people.
With perfect balance, I went into Anastasia's bedroom first. She was still asleep. I set one tray on her table then grabbed the laundry at the door. Next, I went into my other sister's room and did the same. When I reached my stepmother's room, I found her already awake and up.
"Good morning, Stepmother," I greeted monotonously.
"Yes, good morning," she said sarcastically. Then, she went right ahead and began listing my chores. And me? I was tuning her out. I didn't listen to her as she rambled on and on and on about the chores! Will she ever shut up?
"Understand, Cinderella?" She asked sternly.
"Yes, Stepmother," I said, my face blank and cold. I left sharply, grabbing the laundry as I walked to the door.
Two hours later, I finished weeding and watering the garden; washing, mending, ironing, and drying the laundry; and cleaning the stables. By now, it was late morning and the girls had their lessons. They were taught how to dance by tutors.
Ha. They are just making fools of themselves. I could dance ever since my father taught me how to walk.
I smirked as I watched my stepmother formally saying her goodbyes to the tutor who limped away, trying to stay gentlemanly. His feet must have been stepped on many times by my stepsisters. He said his goodbyes, looking rather disheveled. I smirked and went to my room through the rope ladder. Why a ladder? Because then I don't have to waste thirty minutes running up and down the attic stairs like a crazy maniac.
(Did you ever even see those ridiculous attic stairs in the Disney Movie? Absolutely horrifying.)
I went to my room and took out an unfinished pale blue dress I had been sewing.
Time passed, and I was finished the dress I had been making. It was pale blue with yellow ruffles and black lace trim. Where did I get my materials? From the old dresses from Anastasia's and Drizella's old dress pile.
I smiled and fingered the dress gently, think what to do with it. I could either sell it to the dress maker in town, or wear it myself. "Heh, guess I'll keep it..."
I left my room and was on the way to the kitchen when a knock at the front door stopped me. I sighed and went to answer it.
