Cinder slowly forgot about everything related to Salem, and when she did the spell let Salem know she had lost Cinder. The spell she had cast on Cinder was a spell to rewind time on a body, but if too much time passed after then the spell became permanent and overwrites the memories that happened before the spell was cast. Cinder was now a normal ten-year-old girl who didn’t realize she had the other half of the fall maidens’ powers. Salem deeply regretted this miscalculation in her plans, she informed Emerald and Mercury that Cinder died and failed the mission she had been sent on. Mercury stayed but Emerald fled, not wanting to work for the person who she believed killed Cinder.
