Keith

He took a sip of his drink, feeling the taste bots slide down his throat, relishing the taste they left behind.

Keith stretched, walking out of his dirty unkempt kitchenette. He ran a hand through his tangled hair and sighed.

Keith was tired and just wanted a good sleep. For once.

But it seemed that sleep would not come today. His monster computer was beeping urgently. He dropped his drink to the floor and lunged towards his computer, tapping furiously on a keyboard that was projected onto thin air, his finger dancing faster than any human's.

°°°°°°°°

Keith wiped a few stray beads of sweat that were racing down his face.

Close one.

He turned to a small box on his left. A small machine rested on top of the box, and it was the oldest object he had ever seen. His computing skills were still enough to figure out to operate it, though. Even if he sometimes didn't understand why things were either too simple or too complicated.

Keith pushed his finger to a button, and it clicked. The monitor flashed into life, showing the figure of a door, accompanied by a loud sound that pierced Keith's ears every single time. There was a small gash to the side where a master key could be slid through.

He hesitated. Then, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out the key, taking a moment to study it thoroughly. Twirling it with his metal fingers as he had done every single time before inserting the ancient key into the archaic machine.

Keith slipped the key into the computer. It beeped as the key smoothly slid out.

>Welcome, master [REDACTED]. How may I be of assistance?

Keith's cybernetic fingers began gliding over the old keyboard, too fast for an eye to follow. He manipulated the code, checking entry files supposed to be deleted.

Furrowing his eyebrows, Keith hesitated again. He took a deep breath, then maneuvered a small rectangle, a "mouse" (as the computer called it), over to the file and clicked on it.
