' and I've never felt more alone
it feels so scary getting old '
It was finally time to leave for Hogwarts, I used to look forward to this day so much. I would be out of this house, away from Walburga and the memories that clouded our home.
Today is not one of those days.
I was always talented at putting on a brave face and keeping my head held high regardless of what was happening or being said around, but today I felt the world sitting on my chest.
I didn't think I could ever mentally prepare for the whirlwind I would have to face going back to school. It was already difficult being the daughter of a deranged murder, whispers following my every move about being the result of someone considered Voldemort's most loyal followers. But add in being the granddaughter of the infamously rich Walburga Black—renowned for being an all powerful and merciless woman....people were bound to be terrified of me even if I was as kind as a Hufflepuff.
Which I wasn't, I'm an asshole.
Proud to be one actually.
Now Sirius Orion Black is out, he's running around somewhere probably plotting my murder or planning to attempt kidnapping. And Merlin knows people are going to try to treat me as if I helped the man escape. I assume they'll think a freshly sixteen year old girl could help someone get out of Azkaban, bullshit.
With the passing of my high-profile grandfather added on and the inability to grieve...let's just say I had more and more adding on top of my chest.
That's how I found myself on the verge of a panic attack as I stood in front my mirror once again. I straighten out my leather jacket and reach down for my red bag, stuffing a extra pack of cigarettes in.
I look myself over once more and take the wand out of my hair to throw into my purse, letting the black waves flow freely.
I didn't feel like dealing with Walburga pestering me over hair.
Stupid bitch.
Glancing over to the left of my mirror, I speak in parseltounge to Nyx who was curling on the floor. "Come on, we have to hurry if we want to beat the crowd"
Nyx lifts her head up to look me up and down, "I love your outfit—besides the snake purse for obvious reasons"
"Excuse you?! It's not real and you know it!" I roll my eyes as I point down at her, "Monet has managed to make high fashion cruelty free"
"So your paying a ton of galleons for something that should be cheap from a shop?"
I bend down and outstretch my hand to her with a smirk, "I could go get a cheap one but I wouldn't be caught dead in anything not designer"
Nyx began to slip under my leather sleeve as she responds, "How could I forget your most important rule?"
I could hear the mocking in her tone as I roll my eyes and head out of my room, shutting the door before yelling loudly. "Whit get your arse together and come on! You know how much I hate the crowd at Kings across!"
*
"Slow down this instant young lady!" Whitman yelled, Walburga trailing behind him calmly.
I huff and slow down right in front other bricked wall on platform nine and three quarters, beginning to look over my shoulder and couldn't help but laugh at Whitman running past all the muggles with strange looks directed at him and Vega, my owl he stole, sitting on his trunk. Meanwhile, I resist the urge to admire the cold face Walburga wore.
When he finally reaches me, I flash a smile of innocence only to be flicked on my forehead, spotting grandmother still a little ways behind us with her black gown flowing.
I gasp at him dramatically, "For that I should've left you to fend for yourself amongst the muggles!"
He gasps back at me mockingly, "You are a cruel cruel woman Rosalie Black!"
I point accusatory finger up at him, "You did not just use my birth given name!"
He smirks in triumph, "Tut tut looks like I did"
I put my hand over my heart and start to fake stumble, just then Whitman burst out laughing and throws an arm over my shoulders to support me as we face the bricked wall once more.
"Together?" he asks.
I look up at him and grab onto my trunk, "Together"
We run through the wall, his arm still wrapped around my shoulders tightly and we let out a sigh in unison before looking at eachother with goofy smiles until we feel Walburga's hands on our backs.
"Let go of her Whitman—she needs to look presentable"
Whitman's eyes roll as he unhooks himself from me, Walburga letting out a sound of approval before silently walking us to the edge of the red train to put away the owl and our trunks. As we do though, I feel eyes on us as I keep my chin lifted with a blank face, letting the mask fall over my features as I began to scan the platform while Walburga rants about the muggles she passed.
I yelp when someone comes up from behind me and starts spinning me around. The melodic sound of Theo's voice feels me with a buzzy feeling, "And how's my favorite lady today?"
"Put me down Teddy!!" I laugh as I struggle to get the words out.
"No can do darling"
We both freeze when we hear a deep scruffy voice, "Put the girl down this instant your making a scene!"
Theo sets me down and we both turn to face Theodore Nott Senior next to Walburga.
He had to be the most evil man I have ever encountered besides Tom Riddle in the chamber of secrets, who consequently turned out to be Voldermort.
Says a lot, huh?
Whitman moved to stand on the other side of me as we greet the man with a nod of recognition, "ello Mister Not"
"Good to see you sir" Whitman's says, a fake side smile painting his face.
I assume the reason behind Theo's grimace is both of our fake acts of kindness and respect, "Sorry father, we just haven't seen each other"
Theo's dad looks us all up and down before speaking sharply, "You see each other everyday, feed your bullshit to someone else Theodore"
I suck in a breath at having to stop myself from punching his dad square in the face. Instead I settle for grabbing Theo's hand in mine, if there was anyone who could keep me from acting on violent instincts—it was him.
But he has a point, we suffered from awful separation anxiety. It worked though, a girl with abandonment issues and a boy who couldn't go two second without seeing her. And Whitman, well, he was just as much apart of both issues.
Before any of us can open our mouths he speaks again, "Lovely funeral, not to mention Orion would've been delighted. No filthy mudbloods or blood-traitors present"
So fucking annoying.
My grandfather dies and that's all you have to say?
Men.
Stupid men.
Orion hated you.
"Thank you sir, that's all I wanted. He deserved a respectful funeral—I'm just lucky Theo was there to deliver my speech for me" I say as I feel Theo squeeze my hand in a signal that I played it off perfectly.
His dad nods at me once more, "I would say you were lucky too, Theo did a excellent job. You are more than welcome to join us for the holidays"
"We'll have to consider" Walburga hums, her blue eyes that match my own taking in the passerby's with hatred. "We were hoping to stay in the French manor for Yule"
"Very justified" Theo's father smiled with closed lips, "On for a drink Walburga?"
Walburga nods, "Yes but go on—I need a minute with Rosalie"
With that Theo's father turns on his heal and exits without a goodbye to his son while the three of us let out a breathe we didn't know we were holding in.
The relief is broken though as Walburga grasps my chin softly, "Do not let something as foolish as death affect your scores and report to me about your training with Dumbledore"
"Of course grandmother"
Her grip turns painfully tight, "And you remember who you are—not some random girl. Every move you make is being watched as it has been your whole life, understood?"
I nod and swallow the lump in my throat, her eyes dropping to my feet before meeting my face again as she brushes my hair back with a lowered voice.
"The rumors will fly but you are not his daughter, you are mine and that makes you the most important woman to exist—behave yourself"
I hate the way my heart swells, I shouldn't love her so much.
With one last glance to myself and a sharp look at Whitman, she begins to follow in the same path as Theo's father while I stay stiff watching her go.
Whitman slinging his arm over my shoulder makes me relax my muscles as he starts to guide us to the train while I pull Theo by his hand.
"You are a master at lying Ro" Theo says, finally snapping out of his daze as we walk.
I look up at him and wink, "That's the only way to survive in the house of Black"
"Draco Lucius Malfoy!" Whitman shouts, and I wince at the volume so close to my ear.
Me and Theo look in the direction Whitman has stopped and turned us in, sure enough there stood the family of three with the added addition of Abraxas Malfoy standing high and mighty with his cane similar to Lucius's.
The only bearable Malfoy with the exception of Narcissa.
And Draco, but would I admit that?
No way in hell.
We all shoot smiles at them, only receiving a smile back from Narcissa—Abraxas being too busy studying the muggleborn family pushing by the crowd with distaste.
Draco hugs his mother and curtly nods at his disgusting father before making his way to us, speaking immediately. "You should of heard father, said it's disgusting how close you guys are with Rosie" Draco has the faintest smile on his lips as he shakes his head at us all squished together before Theo speaks tauntingly.
"Since your incapable of recalling—you used to be the same"
Before Draco can respond with what I know would be a sassy retort, Theo and Whitman pull us all into a group hug that has me and him yelping.
"I did not sign up for this!"
"This is terrible, release me!"
Theo and Whitman just laugh while letting go of Draco who is scowling as if they killed his entire family.
So dramatic.
Whitman takes his arm off my shoulders and throws it over Draco's, which only results in him being shoved off as they start to walk ahead of me and Theo.
I feel my chest warm as Theo removes his hand from mine and replaces the arm Whitman once had over me while pulling me into his side, he kisses the top of my head as we make our way onto the trains open doors with the sound of loud chattering filling my ears.
"Sorry about my dad Ro"
My eyebrows raise suggestively, "Don't be Teddy, one day I'm gonna hire a hit man for him"
He chuckles as we watch Whitman and Draco slide into a compartment, "Tell me your skipping on the hellos with the losers?"
My eyes rolls with a laugh, "Duty calls"
He groans and pushes me forward to the back where they usually sit, it makes me send him smile as I start walking off—seeing him smirk as he yells. "Don't let them have you for too long, come back for me!"
"Always Teddy!" I say dramatically, a random Hufflepuff passing by shooting me a odd look after before I began to chuckle facing the way I was going.
Each compartment I peer into gives me no one I wish to see and I'm sure I've already checked ten glass windows above wooden doors before I see three heads with black, red, and brown hair.
With joy I slide open the door and lean against it, "Ello my sexy friends"
Hermione squeals while jumping up at a fast rate, throwing her arms around me so quickly that I almost topple over before I begin to hug her back even more forcefully—starting to spin us around.
"Merlin! I missed you Rose!"
Pulling back, I put both my hands on either side of her cheeks and look over her face as if I'm checking for injuries before speaking, "Dear Salazar Mione you got even more beautiful!"
She laughs that familiar laugh and pulls me back into a hug, "How did I go this long without you?!"
I squeeze her tight and recall the punishment I took to be able to do this with no regrets, she was everything.
"I missed you more than you can comprehend" I say softly.
We pull away from each other and she has tears in her eyes, I uncomfortably wipe her cheeks off. "Mione don't you dare cry right now! You know it scares me!"
She nods quickly and I gently shove her back, forcing her down beside Ron before she speaks. "I just feel so bad! None of us were there for you during the funeral or finding out about Sirius Black!"
Thank Merlin she didn't call him my father.
Ron gives me a horrified look as he tries his best to comfort a crying Hermione, awkwardly patting her shoulder.
I resume my leaning in the door way as I respond, "Oh well—no point in mourning the dead"
Lie.
She sighs and looks down at her feet, it makes me feel the need to fix her mood. So with a chuckle I speak, "We can have a sleepover in my dorm tonight, Hm?"
The sassy voice of Harry Potter interrupts, "Can you give me a hug before you continue giving your attention to Hermione?"
I turn my head to him, offering a goofy grin before reaching down to grab his hands and pull him up, wrapping my arms around his neck.
We held a brother and sister type of relationship, a complicated one in the eyes of others considering our two very different past's.
He squeezes me until I choke before whispering, "Glad your okay"
I chuckle again and pull back holding his upper arms, "Let me make sure you look healthy real quick so I know if I have a Dursley or three to kill"
I squint playfully and spin Harry around, making him and the two others laugh.
"Yep I'm gonna kill them"
"What? Why?!"
"Because they clearly haven't been feeding you well!"
Harry looks at me with fake shock but in his eyes I can see I'm right, but before I can go on a long rant we are interrupted by Ron's yelling. "Oi! Stop acting like a mum and sit down! We need to talk!"
I shove Harry down onto his seat before sliding the compartment door shut with a little too much pressure, resulting in a loud clink. Then I go to throw my legs up across myself onto Hermione's lap when I jump to my feet startled, "Who is this man?!"
Hermione shakes her head at my dramatics, "Professor R.J Lupin, our new defense against the dark arts professor"
I lean over inches away from his scarred face, inspecting his sandy hair and raggedy sweater. "He's pretty sexy, isn't he Mione?"
She gasps and pulls me back down into my seat, "That is extremely inappropriate Rose!"
Ron gives me a look of disgust, "He's probably in his thirties!"
Harry just chuckles at all of us as I kick my feet up and cross them on Hermione's lap with a smirk, "Oh shut up Ron that's only fourteen or so years older than me!"
Ron's eyes get so wide I'm concerned they are gonna pop out as he turns to Hermione, "She's bonkers! Fourteen years ! Fourteen years! Is she bloody nuts?!"
"Enough!" Harry shouts impatiently, "I need to tell Rose what Arthur told me!"
I look over at him after shooting Ron's baffled face a glare, "What is it Harold?"
He rolls his eyes at the nickname before continuing, "Mister Weasley believes your dad isn't just after you, that he's after me too"
It's my turn to roll my eyes at him, "For one don't call him my father and onto number two—why would my sperm donor want anything to do with you?"
Hermione grabs my attention by giving me a pointed look with a harsh whisper, "He was a loyal servant to the Dark Lord Rose! Of course he is after Harry!"
I sigh and look back at Harry who seems unshaken, "He will have to kill me before I let him touch a hair on your little head"
Harry shoots me the best grin I figured he could muster, "I know Rose, we all got your back too"
I swing a arm over his shoulder and ruffle his hair, speaking with enthusiasm to cover up everything inside me. "Of course I know that my dearest Harold!"
He pushes me off with a laugh before the train suddenly throws us forward and begins to slow with a loud screech. Hermione slides down the seat, pinning Ron against the window which throws my legs off her lap in the process as the train comes to a complete stop.
Ron and Hermione exchange an awkward glance that I internally find hilarious. Then Hermione carefully slides to the other end of the seat and looks down at her watch before leaning forward and shoving it in my face.
I jump back in surprise and swat the leather band on her wrist, "Merlin Mione!"
But she keeps shoving it towards me with no intention of stopping, "Look at the time! We shouldn't be stopping! We barely started the ride there! We have hours left!"
I grab her wrist forcefully to stop the relentless shoving and look at the time, "We still have another three and half hours? It's impossible"
Harry begins to stand and open up the compartment door, peering out into the corridor. "Tons of people are looking out too, no one seems to know"
The train jerks harshly out of nowhere, swaying after as all the lights flick at once before simultaneously going out.
"What's going on?" asks Ron with a shaky voice.
Harry shrugs, "Maybe we've broken down"
"Excuse me hot professor" I say as I lean over him to wipe the frost from the glass.
"Rose now is not the time!"
I laugh airily and lean back into my seat with sudden boredom, "I don't know what what's going on but it is odd"
We all turn our heads to the window as we hear Ron whimper while looking out of it, "Guys something is mov...mov...moving out there and I think it's coming aboard"
The train starts to sway violently and I can't help but to groan loudly. "Bloody hell what's going on?!"
Suddenly a ball of light was in the hands of the man we have come to assume is R.J Lupin, and his face feels eerily familiar.
"Do. Not. Move." he states softly, but with emphasis on each word.
Harry adjusts his glasses while sitting back down between me and the professor when a dark cloaked shadow enters, Dementors.
All I have time to say before I hear screaming is, "Dementors"
An ear curdling scream rings in my skull with the follow up of a woman shouting before I hear a random man beggging to have some girl back over and over. The worst of all though is the flashes of Walburga's punishments that begin to play in my vision.
It doesn't stop until all the lights are back on and I have to clutch my chest to steady my breathing as I look down to see Harry sprawled out on the floor.
Hermione, Ron, and the assumed professor rush down to Harry's level trying to wake him with urgency but I can't seem to hear their voices nor can I move. I'm too busy trying to recover from what I just heard and wrapping my head around what it exactly was.
Harry wakes up after a few rough taps to the face from Hermione, propping himself up on the palm of his hands with a breathless tone. "What was that?!"
"A dementor" I rasp out, still staring ahead of him with a look of discomfort written on my face.
Harry stands up with the help of R.J Lupin and sits besides me, everyone following suit besides the professor who stands looking at me with a face of worry and something I can't explain as his lips part—running a hand over his chest oddly.
"Rose what's wrong?" Harry asks.
The fuck Harry?
Maybe uh...the dementor?!
I shake my head without tearing my gaze away from the spot my eyes have been burning a hole into.
"Rosalie Aries Black! Answer us!"
I snap my head to Hermione's direction and shake it, snapping out of it.
"That was horrible" I mumble to Hermione.
"What happened when you passed out Harry?" Ron asks, shooting worried glances between us both.
"It was so weird....I heard screaming and I could've swore I heard my parents yelling out too" Harry spoke with confusion before Hermione responded nervously, "Umm Harry....no one was screaming"
I find my voice finally, "No no I heard screaming too. Lots of it"
Hermione and Ron exchanged horrified looks and turn back to us at the same time the Professor seems to collect himself from whatever weird state he was in, "Here, Eat. Chocolate always helps"
I nod before placing it into my mouth and standing, sliding the door open before stepping out in a rush.
Harry stands quickly, "Where are you going Rose?!"
I glance at him and gulp, trying to make my voice stop sounding so small as I whisper the only name in my mind. "Theo"
Rushing forward, I hear Harry calling my name and then the professor with Hermione telling him to leave me be.
When I finally find Theo's compartment I slide the door openly harshly, scanning it with calculated eyes.
On one side sits Theo at the window, Blaise Zabini beside him in a fitted black suit, and Gregory Goyle beside him. On the other side of the compartment sits Whitman at the window across from Theo, Draco across from Blaise. And finally, Vincent Crabbe in front of Goyle.
But then I spot the last thing I wanted to see, Pansy fucking Parkinson.
She's sitting beside Crabbe, barely hanging onto the seat as she's so clearly tried to sit with them unwanted.
What the fuck is she doing?
Should I just Avada her now?
It would probably make my mind calm down.
I realize I zoned out while looking everyone over when Goyle stnads up and put his hand on my shoulder, "Rose, are you okay?"
I nod without glancing at him before looking between Theo and Whitman. Both whom are shooting worried glances at me, and maybe if I paid more attention I would've noticed the worried expression painted across Draco's face.
I go to sit beside Theo and Blaise scoots over for me without hesitation. I feel peace come back to me as Theo wraps his arm around me and looks down expectantly as I just shake my head.
"What are you fucking mute you dirty little blood-traitor?"
I can feel everyone tense around me along with their annoyed scoffs by her presence. I might just have lost my ability to speak but she knows just how to bring it back, stupid cunt.
I lean into Theo more and shrug, my voice returning back to it's full strength as I mock her. "What are you fucking done trying to get into Draco's pants?"
Her lips part, "Please, at least if Draco touched me he wouldn't be getting his hands dirty from the filth you surround yourself with"
Maybe it's the fact she believes my grandfather dying has me in a weak spot to where she believes I won't rip her fucking head off.
I look at Blaise and shoot him a smug look which he returns, clearly trying to hold in his laughter as no one makes a move to stop what's happening and put Pansy in her place, knowing I'd flip on them as well if they did.
I begin to lean forward and stretch my left hand towards her, "You see that big green emerald Pansy?"
She goes to smack my hand out of her face but I pull it back before she can, "What are you showing me your stupid rings for?"
"Tut tut tut Miss Parkinson, that is the Malfoy family ring your looking at—not to mention one hand of my 'stupid rings' cost more than your family fortune" Satifised at the look of shock and anger on face, I lean back under Theo's arm before speaking again. "I'll be sure to let Narcissa know what I think of the girl who wishes to be her daughter in law one day, it will make for great laughs over tea"
Draco raises his eyebrows at me and smirks, probably thinking about how I have already let Cissa know all about what Pansy Parkinson is like.
A bigoted bitch who deserved my fist in her face again.
She stands up quickly with flushed cheeks from presumed embarrassment as she points a finger at me, "At least I'm not friends with that pathetic mudblood!"
I stand up almost too fast as black dots spot my vision and harshly grab her wrist pointed towards me, my anger taking over as my wand instantly went into her throat.
I yanked Pansy closer to me so the tip of my wand would dig into her neck, "Call Hermione that one more time you disgraceful bitch, I'll show you dirty blood"
She lets out a whimper of pain, all the boys rising to stand except Crabbe who's too busy eating and watching in awe to move.
"Get the fuck out Parkinson" Theo snaps with venom, "No one let you in here"
Pansy attempts to listen but I can't let go of her wrist, my nails making crescent moons in her skin as my wand digs deeper.
I lean closer to her, "Say it you nasty bitch—go on and call Hermione a mudblood now"
But Pansy only shakes her head fervently, her eyes welling up with water that makes me smile maliciously before I spit in her face.
"Fucking pussy—that's what I thought"
She gasps and turns her face away, quickly reaching up to wipe it as she shakes in my grip. That's when I feel Theo and Blaise slowly move me away from the distraught girl and sit me down between them again while Draco and Whitman push Pansy out of the compartment with harsh words, all the while Goyle is shutting the door.
When the door is fully closed and they all join us in sitting down, we share a look before dying of laughter with the exception of Draco who just slightly laughs while shaking his head.
I lean onto Theo with a scowl returning as I recall her being here to begin with while kicking my feet onto Whitman, refusing to touch Draco when we are both in our regular state of minds.
"Why the fuck was she here?" I snap, my tone making Blaise flinch in surprise.
"Stupid cunt came rushing in when the lights were off" Theo responds with disgust, my appreciation of him hating anyone I did growing.
Blaise chuckles, "Don't get all twisted little Rose—we were about to kick her out but as soon as the lights came on you rushed in"
"So fucking annoying, she hasn't tried to speak to any of you since first year when I snapped at her and now my grandfathers dead she thinks I won't ruin her life?" I began to scoff, "And calling my rings stupid? I could buy her family and still be richer than the queen of England—not to mention how horrible she speaks Mione"
Blaise nudges my shoulder, "I missed our little firecracker and her potty mouth like the Scots"
"Me too" Crabbe says with a mouthful of sweets, each one of us grimacing but I still smile at him gratefully before looking up at Blaise.
"And I missed the most fashionable man I know in the four weeks of separation" I wink up at him, "Tell me how is mumma Zabini"
Blaise rolls his eyes and leans into the bench before speaking, "Well the summer in Paris was nice when you were all there but she seems to have found her new 'soulmate' although he barely speaks English" he sighs, "They got engaged a few days ago after a week of meeting and she brought him back to England with us! We missed the funeral because of his 'transportation ID' being messed up, did you get mum's letter?"
I chuckle slightly and grab his arm beside me to give it a squeeze to pause his ranting, "Don't be hard on the woman, she can't help she's a hopeless romantic and trust me you didn't miss anything special. But yeah, I've been writing her back"
"More like hopelessly loves growing her bank account" Draco scoffs.
I lift one foot off a reading Whitman's lap who I have no idea how or when he pulled out a book to use his usual form of escapism as I kick Draco's kneecap.
"Don't kick me with your excessively chunky shoes!"
I shoot him a innocent grin, turning to look at Blaise who just laughs.
"It's fine Rose, Draco's right. The woman is money obsessed—not love obsessed" Blaise shakes his head.
Theo tightens his arm around me before speaking, "Did Blaise Zabini just say the phrase, 'Draco is right' ?" He looks down at me and whispers, "Should we have his head checked?"
Blaise wacks Theo's head ironically, making me giggle and respond sheepishly as I grab Blaise's chin and turn his head to inspect him. "I think so Theo....seems serious"
Theo responds quickly with wittiness, "Could be the work of polyjuice potion love"
"Oi! Enough you too, you are terrible together!" Blaise says, amusement clear in his voice.
Whitman looks up from his book, "You have no idea Blaise, no idea"
Me and Theo gasp at the same time befofe I ask a question in shock, "Did he just pause his reading to insult us then immediately return?!"
"Looks like it, seems Whit can't learn a lesson can he?"
I fake sigh and shake my head, "Guess we will have to teach him again Teddy, I mean what else can we do?"
Whitman's head snaps up and he gives us an uneasy glance as Draco spits out his own words, "Enough you two, your relationship is sickening"
I look up at Theo and grin, "Don't be jealous that my friendship with Teddy is so much better than yours with him"
Draco scoffs at me, "You wish Black"
That scoff will drive me mad.
Each one of us except Crabbe look at Draco before laughing.
"What's so funny?" Crabbe asks, he who has yet to pay attention to anything other than the sweets in his lap.
"I'm wondering the same thing Crabbe" Draco says, looking worried at all of us laughing so hard out of nowhere.
"Because you—you....think your friendship with Theo's is better than his and Rose's" Blaise struggles out between laughs.
"I like to think it is! Just like me and Whit's!" Draco speaks with a ridiculous defiance.
He has to be joking.
As our laughter dies down I give a slight chuckle before speaking, "Woooo...that was a good one Draco"
He scoffs at me and I fight the urge to strangle him as Theo just looks at me with a look of endearment that sends stupid butterflies into my stomach, one's that need a knife stuck in them or I'll die, before he places a kiss on top of my head.
Goyle switches the subject, "I got you acid pop while I was in Hogsmeade last weekend, I know you told me at the funeral you hadn't been to get one in a while"
I smile so widely and genuinely I think my face might crack as I grab the acid pop from Goyle's outstretched hand. "Dear Merlin I could kiss you! You are officially getting a free honeydukes trip from me!"
Goyle's face goes bright red as he quickly sits back in his seat and starts stuttering over his words, Draco shaking his head at the flustered friend.
Blaise starts patting Goyle on the shoulder as he tries to calm him down, "Salazar Rose I think you broke him"
I take the wrapper off my acid pop and put it in my mouth, enjoying the feeling of the painful sizzle in my mouth. "Goyle knows he holds a special place in my heart"
"Ghg- Yea-ah" sputters Goyle.
All the boys burst out laughing, and I feel relieved to see a genuine laugh come out of Draco in so many ways I cannot begin to explain.
"Ro stop...you're making it worse on the poor bloke!" Theo laughs out with a smug look.
I reach up to push Theo's hair off his forehead, finally deciding to bring up what I was avoiding.
"I need to tell everyone something"
At this everyone looks at me, even Whitman takes his book and closes it, Crabbe looking up from the sweets with interest.
"Remember when all the lights went out and it got really cold?"
"Obviously" states Draco with a roll of his eyes.
Whitman elbows him in the side, "Continue Ro"
"Well it was dementors, I'm sure you would've heard my spill by now if I wouldn't have busted into your compartment and had a fuss with the anti-women lover"
Draco goes to open his mouth but I put a hand up to signal I'm not done, "A dementor came into my compartment with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It started to feed off of Harry and he passed out but all I could hear was screaming and had flashes of terrible memories before the new professor sent it out"
Draco let's out annoyed sound, "Of course the dementor came to Potter's compartment"
All I can think about is how stupid their rivalry is as I respond, "Yes Draco, I'm sure Harry was so excited that he attracted a dementor"
"Why do you always have to take up for him?!" Draco shoots back, the level of annoyance in his voice making me blink momentarily.
"Because I refuse to be apart of the show of masculinity you two have going on!"
"Are you okay?" Whitman interrupts by slapping a hand over Draco's mouth, face riddled with concern.
I glare at Draco as he shoved Whitman off, "Yeah I am, I came here looking for Theo because I couldn't speak after it. As soon as it ended I stood up abruptly and left but everyones favorite post-it was sitting here and I lost track of what I came in here to do"
Theo squeezes my shoulder, making my annoyance cease once more. "Trust me—no one wanted her here"
"I for one am offended you only came to look for Theo" Whitman scoffs loudly, and I actually see anger on his face.
My eyebrows pinch together, "I didn't want to worry you with everything you have on your plate plus I was just going to talk to Theo alone then sit with you all anyways"
Whitman scoffs again, even more loudly and opens his book back up.
Why is he so angry? I mean Whit was a angry person in general but?
"And I for one won't tell Whitman that I trump him as number one" Theo says, mirth laced in his voice.
Whitman kicks Theo's shin, his voice making my eyes go wide. "We fucking get it, eh? So just shut up for once"
Theo grunts at his kick before sending one back, "Oi—no one is being serious"
Blaise is the one to change the subject this time with a smirk working onto his face, "Well at least Draco has something new to harass Potter with"
I see Draco match his smirk, "And what's that Blaise?"
"His dementor trauma" Blaise says with amusement.
"Your both ridiculous" I sigh, "If any of you were getting fed on by a dementor I'm sure it would be the same"
