Kim Taehyung is Jimin's best friend. They've known each other since first grade, when Taehyung pushed a kid off the swings for being mean to Jimin.

Jimin and Taehyung have been like two peas in a pod ever since. Joined at the hip most of the time, doing everything together, sharing everything.

This means, of course, Jimin has told Taehyung about each and every heartbreak, every scar on his big, fragile heart, every time Jimin has been hurt, and every person Jimin has liked. Taehyung always sighs and says the same thing.

"You love too much for your own good."

And Jimin knows he does. He's just lucky that he has Taehyung there to back him up when it all comes crumbling down.

"You know," Taehyung says this time, pink dusting his cheeks, "I would never hurt you. I would treat you how you deserve to be treated. I would love you more than anything."

Jimin wants to believe him. Jimin wants to fall in love with him right now, wants to make sure he never has to hurt again.

But he can't.

He doesn't love Taehyung like that. He thinks of him as a brother, in fact- someone he can depend on, someone who can depend on him.

And so, Jimin's heart is not the one that's being broken this time.

It's Taehyung's.
