There was a myth about the most beautiful flower, blooms in the largest and most dangerous desert, would grant the person who can find it a free, happy and sufficient life. Arthur, a young man who carries a romantic and chainless soul heard about this. He decided to make the most meaningful journey of his life. His wish was to pass through the desert and gather that mythical flower all by his own. His parents worried about those dangers he might encounter along the trip, but he persuaded them with a promise he would soon return.

His journey was carefully planned and calculated. On those early days of his journey, his spirit was so high that even the bad weather couldn’t make him forget about his ultimate goal.

Then one day, he was strucked and almost swallowed by a massive sandstorm. With his extraordinary courage, he fought bravely and got through the storm, but his body was seriously injured as his mind was partially broken.

After a storm comes a calm, he found a peaceful oasis in the middle of the desert. Full of joy, he decided to stop there and rest, prepare for the next trip to come. There he met an adorable little rabbit. The friendly rabbit comforted him and even took herbs for his injury to heal. Every day, rabbit came by his side, amused him with many interesting stories he has never heard. As his condition got better, rabbit took him to visit its fantastic world inside the oasis. Allured by all those delight, Arthur came to the point that he almost forgot about his journey.

As time passed by, his inner struggle about staying or leaving made him so confused. In this place, he could always meet the beautiful little rabbit, could live those tranquil days, without worrying about all the dangers, nor facing harsh weather out in the desert.

But… How about his worrying parents? Were they waiting for him to come back home? How about his ultimate goal? Must he have to let it die? Little by little, Arthur lost his will, his courage, and even his own self-confident.

Everything in this oasis was so wonderful, the rabbit kept on showing him its wide knowledge, told him things he couldn’t understand. He had a desire to fully acknowledge them, but still, he felt so lost inside, for the reason that he wasn’t belong to this heavenly place.

Then one day, Arthur saw his parents were going everywhere, desperately searching for his whereabouts, and his friends constantly asked him about the mythical flower. Startled from this nightmare, he woke up, panic. He decided to go to the lake, to wash his face and to clear his mind. When he saw his reflection on the water surface, he was shocked. He didn’t look at himself for a long time. He couldn’t recognize his own face, he couldn’t find the young Arthur, he was no longer enthusiastic and bright as the sun. The eyes shone beneath the water showed nothing but fear, cowardice, and anxiety. Suddenly, Arthur realized, time doesn’t wait for anyone.

Arthur decided to find little rabbit, convinced it to go with him on his journey to find the mythical flower. In return, rabbit showed him nothing but its emotionless, beautiful, pink eyes. He knew what those eyes said, he knew the answer.

Silently, Arthur left the beautiful oasis. Right when he felt the burning sand of the desert below his feet, the oasis behind him dissapeared like an illusion. He felt so downhearted, like losing something so important. Perhaps, he couldn’t find the little rabbit and the beautiful oasis again, in this lifetime.

Those days have passed, he will truly cherish them whether they are real or just illusions. Because he finally made up his mind. This time, he would still going to find himself another companion, and certainly not going to stop anywhere for too long.
