There were just a couple of days left before the wedding and the wedding rituals were to begin. It was the day of the mehndi and sangeet ceremony. The family had arrived at the banquet hall. The sangeet night was organized by Aniket and Nitya. They had planned a special performance for everyone. Nitya and Aniket had even invited Manvi and Aarav for rehearsals but one or the other always denied or made an excuse.

The Malhotras and Wadhvas were at the banquet hall. It was all decorated taking suggestions of Manvi and Aarav. Indirectly it was them planning their own wedding. Nitya and Aniket were smart enough to get them involved in this wedding.

Manvi was sitting between everyone right in front of the stage. A few girls were applying Mehendi to her and also other ladies. A few minutes later spotlights fell on the stage and Nitya and Aniket appeared on the stage with a smile.

"Swagatam Swagatam aaj main Nitya" said Nitya

"Aur main Aniket" joined Aniket.

"Hum dono aap sabhi ka bharpoor entertainment karne wale hain" they said in unison.

"Bhabhi, aaiye sabse pehle hum aapko aapke naye Parivar se milwate hain" said Aniket.

"Toh dil thaam ke baith Mannu, tujhe apne nai family se milne ka mauka mil raha hai haan" Nitya said with a wide smile.

The curtains dropped, and Anita and Sharad were in front of them.

"Toh suno Manvi, ab tum jinse milogi vo hain, humari pyari jeejhi aur jijaji " said Anita

"Haan Manvi beta zara ye bhi dekh lo tumhare saas sasur bhala kaise hain" said Sharad, they left the stage.

The curtains opened and everyone saw Nitya and Aniket dressed in the same way as Anoop and Pooja.

Aniket performed as Anoop trying to flirt with Nitya who was dressed as Pooja, later Anoop too joined him in the dance, and then Pooja came up to pull their ears. But then she joined them in the dance and performed.

The curtains dropped and a while later the curtains opened again. Aniket and Nitya were dressed as Karan and Nandini.

"Manvi beta ab apne natkhat se dewar se milo" Sharad said.

Everything went according to the plan, but Nitya was unaware of the surprise Aniket had planned for Manvi and Aarav. She assumed that it was a performance they had mutually planned but the case wasn't the same. The curtains opened and they saw a different backdrop of which Nitya was unaware.

He pulled Nitya to dance along with him and Nitya somehow managed to follow him with the steps.

Nitya was a little annoyed because she had no idea about this. Aniket stood in front of her to tease her.

The curtains dropped and then next was Ishika's performance. She danced on the latest number. Later, Aniket and Nitya stood on the stage instead of Anita and Sharad.

"Aap soch rahe honge ki parda girte hi hum yahan kya kar rahe hain" said Nitya

"Lekin iska jawab hum nahin, ab mere pyare Dada denge"

Aarav got confused and he glared at them. Meanwhile, Ishika came up to him and pulled him to the stage and she showed a thumbs-up to Aniket and Nitya.

Aarav saw that they all were emotional and he took both the mothers to dance with him. Manvi noticed how he made the mothers smile and she too smiled with this.

"Ab ye tha Malhotras ka kamal toh ab aap log dekhiyega hum Wadhvas ka dhamal" Nitya said, raising her invisible collars.

"Acchha aisa kya karne wale hain aap?" asked Aniket.

"Vo toh aap dekh leejiyega, aur ab aa rahe hain, humari family se Manvi ke Bade Papa aur mere Dear Chachu '' announced Nitya.

Vivek and Rishabh were standing on the stage, Vivek announced "Ladies and Gentleman...oh...forget it" and he started dancing.

The Malhotras and Wadhvas both enjoyed the sangeet night a lot.

"Bhayi aaj toh maza aa gaya sangeet mein" Karan said.

They all had returned to Malhotra house.

"Hmm, sach mein bahot achha intezaam kiya tha bhayi Aniket aur Nitya ne" said Nandini.

"Arey tumne vo dekha Pooja, Vivek ji aur Rishabh ji ne toh humein surprise hi kar diya, kya kamaal dance kiya unhone" Anoop said.

"Haan aur Sadhna ji aur Prerna ji bhi kam nahi thi" replied Nandini.

"So toh hai" Pooja said, admiring them.

Aarav was happy seeing his family happy. He smiled, noticing that everyone was very happy. Still he wasn't happy with the relationship he was sharing with Manvi and he went to the terrace. Aniket had noticed the unsaid sadness on his face and he too followed him there.

"Dada, kya baat hai, aap khush toh hain na?" he asked

"Haan mere bhai, aise kyun puch raha hai?" asked Aarav when he saw him there.

"Dada, mujhe pata nahin kyun aisa lag raha hai jaise aap is shadi se khush nahin hai '' Aniket said.

Aarav smiled at him and kept his hand on his shoulder "Tu chinta mat kar mere bhai, sab thik hai, aur haan main is shaadi se bahot khush hun, tu zyada mat soch" he said.

"Pakka na Dada?" Aniket asked.

"Ab kya stamp paper pe likh kar doon? Tujhe sona nahin hai kya ? Jaa ke so aur mujhe bhi sone de'' Aarav ordered and Aniket nodded his head. Though he was not satisfied with his reply he went away

"Dada aap kuch bhi keh lein par mujhe fir bhi lagta hai, aap kuch toh chupa rahe hain mujhse" he thought.

NEXT MORNING

It was the day of Manvi's Haldi and choora ceremony. The ladies and Manvi and Nitya's friends were there to apply her Haldi.

Manvi's room

Manvi came out of the washroom and she saw a yellow cotton saree on the bed and Nitya was waiting for her there.

"What is this nonsense? Ye saree yahan kya kar rahi hai Nitya?"

"Mannu, tujhe yahi saree pehnni hai haldi ke liye" Nitya replied.

"What? Ye sab kya nonsense hai Nitu, ab Manvi Wadhva ye cotton ki yellow saree pehnegi, arey behenji lagungi main isme" she yelled.

"Par Mannu, sari ladkiyan haldi mein aisi hi saree pehenti hai, yahi rasam bhi hai"

"To hell with your rasam , main ye sab nahin pehnne wali" Manvi said, her voice was even audible to the guests. She was annoyed as she herself had decided to be in an unwanted relationship. She couldn't express it and her frustration came out this way.

"Mannu tu aise baat kyun kar rahi hai" Nitya innocently asked.

"Nitya..." before Manvi could say anything Sadhna came over there.

"Arey, kya kar rahe ho tum log? Aur Manvi beta tum itna chilla kyun rahi thi?" she asked

"Dekhiye na Badi maa, ye Nitya mujhe ye cotton ki saree pehnane pe tuli hai"

"Beta yahi rasam hai, sari ladkiyan, haldi mein aise hi kapde pehenti hain" Sadhna replied.

"Par Badi Maa..."

"Beta, apni badi maa ke liye, ye pehen lo hmm" Sadhna said with utmost love and Manvi looked at her, she melted seeing her face, tears rolled down her eyes and she hugged her.

"Samajh gai, ye bahane kis liye hain, tumhe humse door jaane ka darr sata rhaa hai na" asked Sadhna with a smile and Manvi nodded a little.

"Beta, aise nahi rote, aur tum kaunsa door jaa rahi ho, yahin toh rahogi na tum, Dilli mein, jab tumhara mann kare tum aa jana" she said caressing her head.

Sadhna wiped her tears and Manvi smiled a little

"Chalo ab jaldi se ye saree pehno aur neechey aa jao, sab tumhe haldi lagane ke liye intezaar kar rahe hain" Sadhna explained and Manvi agreed.

A while later Manvi came downstairs in the yellow cotton saree. The ladies started applying Haldi to her. Sadhna, Prerna and Nitya one by one applied haldi to her. When Manvi took a shower she again came downstairs in a red Anarkali suit.

"Ab Manvi beti ki choore aur kaliron ki rasam hogi" said Vivek.

"Lekin uncle choora toh Manvi ke mamaji lagaenge na, vo toh hain nahi" said one of her friends.

"Arey kisne kaha ki Manvi ka mama nahi hai" said Bhagat ji who was standing outside, he came with his wife.

Bhagat ji entered with the chooda set and said "Ye itna bada aadmi yahan khada hai, aapko dikhai nahi deta kya Vivek ji"

"Arey haan Manvi ke Mama toh yahi hain" Rishabh said.

"Sach mein Bhagat ji ne toh har tarah se Manvi ke mama hone ka farz nibhaya hai, chaliye bhaisahab ab ye rasam aap puri keejiye" said Prerna.

Manvi sat on a stool and Prerna tied a scarf on her eyes. Bhagat ji and his wife Shalini made her wear the chooda, which was dipped in milk before that. After that, a cloth was tied around the choodas and then Manvi's blindfold was removed. Manvi smiled at everyone. Later on, Kalires were tied to Manvi's chooda.

"Chalo sari ladkiyan baitho ek line mein" said Prerna

"Par kyun auntie ji" asked Manvi's friend.

"Arey Manvi apne kalire sab par gira ke dekhegi, jispar gir gai, agli bari uski" she explained.

All girls excitedly sat in a row, Nitya didn't sit deliberately as she didn't want to get married.

"Nitya tum bach nahi sakti, chalo tum bhi baitho" said Sadhna.

Nitya pasted a smile and sat.

Manvi started clicking her chooda one by one on everyone's forehead and it didn't fall on anyone but just as she came on to Nitya and raised her hand, she hadn't had to make any effort and it fell on her. Nitya was shocked she immediately got up.

"Iska matlab Nitya tu next hai" said one of her friends excitedly.

"Hatt! Main ye sab nahi maanti, main jaa rahi hun" she said in an irritated tone and left from there.
