Chuck vs. The Ex Part 2

You and Sarah were in your waitress uniforms, both wearing wigs while Casey looked completely different in his disguise.

You and Sarah saw Chuck and Jill come in and Casey guided them to their table. Sarah looked over at you and could see this mission was bothering you.

"Remember Y/N, this is just a mission. Not real. It will be okay." Sarah said quietly, and tried to give you a reassuring smile.

"I know...thanks Sarah."

"Now, you need to serve them the wine. You got this."

You nodded your head and headed over to Chuck's table.

"Good evening, Mr. Bartowski. Can I get you two anything to drink? The usual perhaps? A 2000 Les Fiefs de Lagrange."

Chuck took a second to realize it was you. You looked different with the wig on.

" Oui, oui." Chuck replied winking at you. You smiled and poured the wine before leaving.

" I'm really glad things turned out so well for you, Chuck. Especially after, you know, what happened."

You stopped walking for a sec, wanting to yell at Jill but you remained calm and continued to walk over to Sarah and Casey.

Chuck was starting to do not so great and Jill was wanting to get ready to leave.

Sarah had to do something and walked over to Chuck.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, Mr. Bartowski, but there's a phone call for you at the bar."

" Excuse me."

Chuck walked to the table where you and Casey were waiting at.

" What do you think you're doing?" Sarah asked.

"Getting closure. She owes me an explanation."

" No, she doesn't. She exercised her First Amendment right to dump you." Casey said." Now get back in there and find out what Guy is planning."

"Hey this woman, really messed him up and I had to pick up all the broken pieces. I agree that he needs closure. As much as I don't like this whole thing, Chuck deserves it."

"Thank you sweetheart."

" Look, Chuck, I know it's hard, but tonight, you have to be a spy first." Sarah said.

" Yeah, it is hard. I'm not like you, Sarah. I can't turn my emotions on and off like some robot. I'm sorry, that was uncalled for. I'm not acting like myself tonight."

"Are you done feeling sorry for yourself?"

" Personally, I'd like another ten to 15 minutes of really pathetic self-indulgence, but duty calls. I'm going back in. Thanks."

Chuck made sure Jill wasn't looking and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before heading back.

Chuck returned with you back to your place after the mission, flopping on your couch when you walked into your living room.

"That was a disaster."

"Oh come on Chuck, it wasn't that bad..."

"I barely got any information about her boss. Or flashed on anything. All I got was that they were working on a new strain of influenza or something... I don't know. It's biochem stuff."

"Oh! I was pretty good at biochem...That was a long time ago though."

Chuck looked at you for a second then buried his face back in your couch. You sighed and leaned down beside him.

"Come on babe... I'm sure you'll get another chance to figure this all out."

"How...I just had tonight. I mean thank God for that but still..." Chuck asked, looking back at you.

"I don't know. But you, me, Sarah and Casey, we'll figure this whole thing out."

"I guess..."

You leaned over and gave him a quick kiss.

"Now...how about we go to my bedroom, and I get you out of this suit?" you asked with a playful smile on your face.

Chuck smiled back.

"Only if I can get you out of that waitress uniform."

"Deal."

Chuck got up and picked you up as he headed to your room, both of you laughing.

The next morning, you got ready for work at your place, then you and Chuck headed over to his place so he could get what he needed for work. You had enough time still, so you decided to have some breakfast before heading out. Ellie came walking in and saw you both sitting on the counter.

"Am I supposed to ignore you or can I ask you a series of personal questions that you have to answer?" Ellie asked.

" You were right. You're always right. I never should've gone out with Jill last night."

"Chuck, maybe I overreacted. You know? Maybe there was a reason to go to dinner with Jill."

"Yeah, to humiliate myself."

"Aww Chuck." you said looking at him.

" Come on, the way things ended with you guys, you've always had a million questions and no answers, and now you finally got some."

"So what? What good did it do me to go poking around in my past? "

"Because maybe now, without all that wondering and what-iffing, you can finally close that chapter of your life."

"Right again."

Later in the day, you and Chuck decided to go check in on Sarah and Casey, and see if they have figured anything out yet. You found their van and opened the door. As soon as you did that though, you both had guns pointed at you.

"Easy, easy, hey. We come in peace." Chuck said as you both stepped in.

"What the hell are you two doing here?" Casey asked.

" We thought we'd swing by and, you know, check up on Jill; make sure she's doing all right." you said.

"She's fine. She came home last night and she hasn't left her room since."

" Wait, wait-- shh! She's making a call. Hello? Damn, bug's on the fritz. We need a new one." Casey said.

"I'll go in as housekeeping and plant another." Sarah suggested.

" She might recognize you as the waitress from the restaurant. I'll just tranq her. She'll wake up in an hour, thinking nothing of it." Casey said.

" Whoa, whoa, whoa-- hey, hey." Chuck said, stopping them. " I'll go. I'll go. As much as I really don't want to do this, I'll apologize for last night, she'll tell me what a giant loser I am, and I'll plant the new bug; no tranqing necessary."

" You know where it goes, Chuck? One button on the bottom, click on, click off."

"All right. I'm going in." Chuck said, grabbing the bug from Sarah.

"You sure about this?" you asked him.

"No... But I got this."

"Okay. Do what you got to do." You said, smiling a little. Chuck smiled back and quickly kissed you before leaving.
