Chuck vs. The DeLorean Part 4
You and Chuck wanted to go check in on Sarah to see how she was doing after last night and the situation with her dad.
You knocked on her door, holding onto a tray of coffees.
"Hey." Sarah greeted, when opening her door.
" They were all out of fruit, so were forced to bring up some chocolate croissants." Chuck said, holding up a bag.
Sarah smiled.
" Oh, I guess I have no choice but to take those off you. Come in."
"You okay?" you asked softly.
" I'm fine." Sarah answered as she sat on her bed, taking out a croissant. You sat down beside her, placing the tray of coffees on the night stand while Chuck grabbed a chair and sat in front of you both. "My dad will turn up somewhere, but, uh, I guess the real crime is that we didn't get to freeze the sheik's accounts."
" Well, I'm sorry if we pushed you into trusting your father."
" If there's one thing I learned from my father, it's be ready for disappointment. And if it's anyone's fault, it's mine."
"No, it's not." Chuck jumped in." 11 years ago, my father left Ellie and me. He's a... he was an unusual man. I guess that's generous. An engineer. We used to get Christmas cards and birthday calls, and then one year it just... it just stopped. I don't know why. What I do know is that it wasn't my fault. Granted, it took a significant amount of time and... an incredible amount of therapy to come to that realization, but... you need to know that your father's sins are his and not yours."
You smiled warmly at Chuck and then turned back to Sarah.
"And Sarah, my father... he never really cared. I mean my mother really didn't either but she at least tried. Sometimes. I will give her that. But my dad...he was never there for me. He was never there to tuck me in at night, to tell me everything was going to be okay, he was never there to help me when things got hard at school, or to cheer me on at my graduation...or even there to warn any of my boyfriends with the whole dad talk. He never really even told me he loved me. The only time he reaches out to me is when he needs money." you said, trying not to cry. A tear managed to slip out though.
Sarah looked at you, feeling so sad for you. Chuck reached over and grabbed your hand, giving it a soft squeeze. You looked at him and smiled a little.
"I'm so sorry Y/N." Sarah said softly.
"It's okay. Really. I've slowly come to accept it."
"Well, this was all pretty eloquent for 9:00 a. m."
"What can I say? I am an articulate schnook." Chuck commented.
You and Sarah laughed a little.
"Lucky for me." Sarah said with a smile.
You were at home now, enjoying your day off and doing a little cleaning around your house. You heard your phone go off and looked over to see it was Chuck calling. You stopped what you were doing and answered.
"Hey! What's up?"
"Y/N the 10 million dollars is in my account."
"What? How?"
"I don't know."
"Did you talk to Sarah or Casey yet about it?"
"No not yet. I was going to go down to Orange Orange and see if they're there and tell them."
"Okay. Hang on. I'm going to leave now and meet you at Buy More and we can head down together."
"Okay. See you soon."
Once you made it over, you and Chuck quickly ran over to Orange Orange and down to Castle.
"Hey, hey, Sarah. Look, I hope this isn't a mistake and the CIA has decided to compensate me for my numerous acts of heroism..."
"Later, Chuck."
"But there happens to be an extra- oh, I don't know- $10 million in my ATM account."
" What? Why would my father put the sheik's money in your account?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Again, we're not so sure that this is coming from your father. I'm still clinging to the compensation theory."
"Leave it there."
" You know, that's not a bad idea. It should earn a couple thousand a day in interest."
" What are you doing? Where are you going?" you asked Sarah when you saw her packing a bag.
" It's personal." Sarah replied before walking off, leaving you and Chuck confused.
You went with Chuck back to the Buy More, where Casey ran over to the both of you.
"Hey, hey. You seen Walker?" Casey asked.
" Yeah, she just left in a real big hurry with two duffel bags stuffed full of T-shirts and some serious firepower." Chuck answered.
"Where are you going?" you asked.
" It's personal." Casey replied before running out.
You and Chuck then looked over at Morgan.
" Morgan. Morgan." Chuck called out.
" Yeah, buddy."
"Morgan, I'm gonna loan you the money."
" Oh, thank you."
"What? What money?" you asked.
"I'll tell you later honey." Chuck said looking at you then turned back to Morgan." First, we need to borrow the De-Morgan. It's an emergency."
" Oh, absolutely, yeah, yeah, yours, done. What's up? "
"It's personal." you and Chuck replied then took the keys and headed out the store.
"Treat her well, my friends."
As you and Chuck raced down, well as fast as you could in Morgan's DeLorean, you ended up finally finding Sarah in a not so good position right now, Amad and his men all had their guns pointed at Sarah and her dad was beside them, hands tied behind his back.
Chuck honked and everyone stopped to look over. Chuck put the car in park and you both stepped out.
"Don't shoot! Don't shoot! We have your money right here." Chuck shouted.
" Hey, no!" Sarah warned.
"Mr. and Mrs. Lichtenstein, thank you for joining. Here to sell me the DeLorean?" Amad asked, walking over to you both.
" We have your money, okay? And we can wire it to you right now." Chuck said, opening up the laptop in his hands and showing it to him.
"If you're lying, I will put a bullet in her head." Amad said, pointing over to Sarah with his gun. You looked over at Chuck.
" All I need is your account number. Please. We're just a couple of bad con men who got in way too deep. All right?"
"All we want to do is give you your money back. Come take it and let us go." you told him
Amad walked over and began punching it in on the laptop.
Meanwhile, Casey was sitting in his car off to the side, a laptop opened, and seeing the numbers being punched in.
"The sheik's account number. Hmm. Decent plan, Bartowski and L/N. Of course I'll never tell them that." Casey commented as he started up his car to drive over to them.
"There. You have your money." you told Amad as the money all went through.
" Pleasure doing business. Now kill them."
" What?" Chuck called out.
All of a sudden, cop sirens went off. It was Casey, playing his part.
" Okay. Hold it right there! " Casey shouted as he stepped out of his car. "U. S. Treasury. Don't anybody move. Send 'em up, boys. I got them. I got the Lichtensteins." Casey then came over and grabbed you both. "Come on."
He then slammed you both down onto his car.
"Oh! Yeah." you said.
" Yeah, you're really... You're really selling it there, Casey." Chuck said through gritted teeth.
" Is this a joke? Huh? Where's your backup?" Amad shouted at Casey.
" Oh. I'm just the tip of the spear. Rest of the crew's on their way up. I've been following these grifters for months now."
Casey then grabbed Sarah and slammed her down on the other side of his car.
"You know, if you gentlemen would be willing to testify, I'm sure we can get the weapons charges dropped, hmm?" Casey told them as he discretley put a gun in Sarah's hand. Soon as he did that, Sarah stood up, gun pointed at Amad, Casey pointing to the other men.
" Drop it!" Sarah yelled.
" No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You lower your weapon, or I will kill your father." Sarah hesitated and looked at her dad. Her dad gave her a look and she knew what to do. She fired her gun, shooting her dad in the shoulder.
" If I did that to him, imagine what I'll do to you." Sarah warned him.
Casey began firing at the other men as they fired back. You and Chuck were once again ducking and hiding beside Casey's car.
Amad ran over to Morgan's car and hopped inside, driving away.
"Amad's getting away." Casey shouted.
" Not at 22 miles an hour he's not." Chuck shouted back.
"All clear." Sarah called out. " Dad." She called to him, walking over to see how he was doing.
You and Chuck looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief. You stood up and helped Chuck up since Casey didn't quite get around to cuffing you just yet.
"You okay?" you asked him.
"Yeah. You?"
"Yeah."
Casey then came over to take the cuffs off of Chuck.
"Hey. Yeah, thanks. Little rough with the cuffs, though. "
"Yeah. Call it in." Casey said.
"You didn't use blanks? What's wrong with you people?" Sarah's dad asked her jokingly as she went over to help him.
"It's just a flesh wound." she told him with a smile.
" Yeah. Hi. I'd like to report a stolen '81 DeLorean. License plate is D- E-M-O-R-G-A-N." Chuck said over the phone. "No this is not a prank call."
"You're not going to believe this. The police just called. The DeLorean was stolen. " Morgan told you both, as you went over to see Chuck at his work.
"Morgan, I've been meaning to tell you..." Chuck started.
" Dude, do you know what that means? They have to impound the car. I'm gonna get Blue Book value. I'll pay back Awesome, and I'll still have ten large! Dude, I'm rich!"
" Aah! We're rich." Anna said, joining in on the conversation. " Now, we can move in together in style. I am doing the whole living room in shabby chic. Love you."
" Love you."
Anna then blew Morgan a kiss and he pretended to try to catch it.
"Oh. Kiss. Kiss. Oh. Mmm. Yummy kisses." he stopped then looked back at you and Chuck. "Well, you have to grow up sometime, you know?"
" The right girl, the right time. I'm proud of you, buddy."
"Yeah me too."
"Thank you."
" Dude, you're not gonna believe what just showed up in the Audio Install." Lester said, coming up to him.
"Morgan, no!" you warned.
" Yes." Lester tempted him.
" No." Chuck said now.
" Yes."
"DO NOT." you now shouted.
" Well, it couldn't hurt to look, you know..." Morgan said.
You and Chuck were making your way over to Sarah's place when you saw her dad walking over.
"Hello, Charlie and Y/N." he greeted, smiling at you both.
" I've kind of grown accustomed to Schnook."
"Yeah and me with sweetheart."
" So have I. I, uh... I wanted to thank you for coming back when I gave you ten million reasons to leave."
" But one really good reason to stay. And she would have done the same for us." you told him.
"Yeah, I believe she would have. Lucky for me she met the right people."
You and Chuck smiled at him. You then heard and saw some cop cars pulling in and you all stood back a little, staying out of view. Sarah then came out and talked to the cops.
"My daughter is some kind of cop, isn't she?"
" Yeah. Yeah. Something like that." Chuck replied.
"She turned out pretty good. Even with a lousy father. Take care of her."
"We'll do our best." you told him.
You and Chuck then walked over to Sarah who was still standing there, arms crossed.
"You okay?" you asked her softly.
" I'm fine."
" Here." Chuck said, giving her his jacket.
"He'll be back soon." you told her.
" No, he won't."
You put her arm around as the three of you walked back into her building. You and Chuck looked back to see if her dad was still standing there but he was gone.
