Chuck vs. The Beefcake Part 1
You and Chuck were sitting in his dining room with Ellie and Devon, eating breakfast, when your phone began to ring. It was Sarah.
"Y/N, it's Sarah. Don't you want to answer it?" Ellie asked.
"Um... Yeah well I'm going to see her later today and hang out so..."
"Everything okay with you two?"
"Oh! Yeah! Yeah everything is fine. Nothing to worry about."
Lately it wasn't though. You have been hating lying to Ellie, Devon and Morgan every time you said you were having a girls night out with her and it was becoming too much for you.
"Okay... but you know if there's anything wrong you can still come to me to talk right?"
"I do. Thanks Ellie." you told her sincerely.
Chuck looked over at you and smiled. He still loved how close you and his sister were.
"And what about you two now? After that little house sitting?"
"We are better than ever." Chuck said. And it was true.
You drove Chuck to work and since you still had some time before your shift started, you came inside with him to say hi to Morgan.
"Dudes, do you have any idea what it's like to be in a relationship that's so upsetting that it just keeps you up at night?" Morgan asked.
"Not anymore." both you and Chuck said.
"Right. Of course you two don't. You two are perfect for each other. All right, look at me. I haven't slept in days. You know, if I don't get at least 12 hours, I'm a basket case."
" Something wrong with you and Anna?" you asked.
" She's out of town. We're actually really good. No, it's my mom and Big Mike, dude. They're like teenagers. They just keep going at it and keep going at it. The man moans like a wounded sea lion."
Chuck and Morgan both made a disgusted sound and shivered at the same time.
"Anyway, listen, I was just wondering if I could just crash with you for a little till this whole thing blows over. Y/N, I know you're over almost all the time but..."
"Oh! Don't worry about me. It could be like the old days guys."
"Yeah except you two will be in a room alone now and probably having sex while I'm in the living room."
You and Chuck just looked at him weird and then your phone began to ring again, snapping you two out of it.
"Uh... uh, yeah. You know what, buddy, I'll run it by Ellie and Awesome." Chuck told him.
"Thank you, thank you." Morgan said before walking off.
As you looked at your phone, you saw it was Sarah and just looked at it. Sarah then appeared behind you.
"Screening my calls?" Sarah asked you.
"Hey... no, no. Uh, no. Yes, a little. I've been meaning to talk to you. I just... I was waiting for the right time, and..."
" Can I buy you a frozen yogurt?"
" Sure. But you know I get a discount too right?" you said, smirking a little.
"I know. Who cares."
When you both walked into Orange Orange, Sarah was chopping away at a banana and you were so amazed at how fast she did it, you got distracted for a sec.
" So, what did you want to talk about?" Sarah asked.
" You can go first."
"Well, mine's spy-related, and I have a feeling yours isn't."
" Um... I... I wanted to talk about us."
"You want to end the friendship?"
You looked at her and wondered how she guessed that.
"I caught some chatter through bites of cereal on the surveillance tap. Sorry, it's an occupational hazard."
" Um... of course. Look... Sarah, it's not you. It's me. That line works for friends too right?"
"Probably not the best idea to give the "It's not you, it's me" speech to a trained assassin wielding a knife." Casey said, popping in quickly.
" I was warming up into more original terrain. Can you give us a minute, please, Casey?" Casey looked at you then walked away. " Um... look, Sarah, you know how much I care about you. Okay? You have become a real good friend to me. It-it's just getting... it's getting so complicated lying to Ellie and my... and my friends. Sometimes, I don't even know what lie I'm telling."
"Listen... tell them we are friends and we enjoy hanging out. But you know...we sometimes need our space and we are still getting to know each other too so."
You just looked at Sarah and gave her a small smile.
"But that's... that's just another lie, isn't it?"
"Do you really want to end this cover friendship?"
"See that's what I'm saying. Is that all this is? Will we ever be actual friends?"
Chuck then came walking in to see how everything was going. Chuck saw the look on your face and just came up and stood beside you.
"Is this girl talk over?" Casey said, sounding annoyed.
"Yeah." you told him.
"Good. Downstairs. Now."
Sarah looked at you then went and followed Casey.
"You okay?" Chuck asked you, putting his arm around you.
"I don't know. Come on." you said, grabbing his hand.
Chuck gave it a squeeze and then you both headed down into Castle.
"We were able to lift a print off the body bag. It seems the grave was robbed by a FULCRUM agent, Cole Barker." Beckman said, while pictures of Cole came up. A lot of them with a bunch of women.
"Seems like a real ladies' man." Casey noted.
" He arrived at LAX this morning and took a cab to the Standard Hotel. We suspect that's where he's going to meet his FULCRUM contact later and make a handoff. Agent Walker will attempt to retrieve the intelligence he's carrying using any means necessary. That's all."
Chuck noticed something in one of the photos.
" Hey, can... can we... can we get a little closer on this picture of Cole, maybe push in on his... "groinal" area?"
You looked at Chuck a little weird.
" What, you seeing something you like down there, Bartowski?" Casey joked.
They did zoom in though and Chuck flashed. It was the Fulcrum Intersect making him flash.
"Oh. Okay, I just flashed, and the intelligence is in Cole's belt buckle."
You all raised your brows.
" Huh. Well, you're going to have to get his pants off, huh, Walker?" Casey asked, teasing.
"Thank God you are not apart of this mission Y/NN." Chuck said, leaning close to you.
You looked over at him and smirked and gave him a wink.
