Aight imma just dump some info here about the office of Death and what that entails...

The Shadow Of Death is the head

There ARE various reapers across dimensions/realities and depending on who you are, they all serve the shadow.

The Shadow of Death is the most powerful reaper of all. They can send their shadow to guide and comfort the deceased to the afterlife, without physically having to be there. With so many people constantly living and dying throughout dimensions and realities, this makes it much easier to ensure everyone gets "home" safely.

As stated before, their job is to guide and comfort the soul of the deceased.
Some Phantoms CAN be reapers and this is actually beneficial, as they can send multiples of themselves across realities to help guide the dead.

The office of death is a full-time job so many choose to never marry, plus people often see them as a bad omen when they are in fact not.

The reapers cannot kill. Only the Shadow can do that. Reapers who kill are exiled, as murder is outside of their job code.

The role of Shadow of Death is supposed to be passed down through generations; however, if the current Shadow is unable to bear an heir they may take on an apprentice, one highly advanced in Shadow. This means a Daeron (great shadow) could, if necessary, fill the office until one greater than them comes along.

A Shadow CAN be stripped of their office if there is misconduct. (e.g. killing people just to kill them)

I don't know yet if there will be ranks for the reapers...wait yes there are. Those that visit humans, those that visit the fae folk, and those that visit animals.

Why does the death profession matter?
