The room is dimly lit, the flickering glow of the TV screen casting soft shadows across their faces. The tension between Anushka and Virat has thickened, the movie Fifty Shades of Grey playing on the screen, but it’s not just the plot that’s stirring the air—there’s something unsaid, something electric between them.
Virat leans back on the couch, his eyes flickering between the screen and Anushka, a playful gleam in his gaze. “So, you think this is how it really goes down.?” he teases, nodding toward the intense scene unfolding.
Anushka smirks, her eyes locking with his. “Oh, come on, you don’t have to pretend like you haven’t done this.” Her voice is light, but there’s an unmistakable flirtation in it.
Virat shakes his head. “No.”
Anushka’s eyes widen in shock. “What? You haven’t tried anything? You’re not adventurous? If I were in your shoes, I’d have experienced everything by now. You’re so boring.” She bites her tongue, realizing her boldness too late.
Virat’s lips twitch into a smile, clearly amused by her daring response. “Is that a challenge? Don’t challenge me, Anushka. You don’t know me. I don’t spare anyone who messes with me.” He leans in slightly, his voice low, playful.
Anushka shifts a little, her heartbeat quickening at the closeness. “Let’s see.” she murmurs, her voice dipping into something teasing. “But first, I think you’d need to prove you’re as adventurous as…”
Virat cuts her off, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Trust me. I could show you a thing or two.”
“M.. My p..phone’s ringing.” Anushka blurts out, jumping to her feet, a rush of heat filling her cheeks.

A few hours later
The tension between them remains, lingering like an unspoken promise. They step into the elevator on the way to a hotel meeting, the skyscraper hotel with more than 100 floors, they are going to 85th floor, but the silence is thick with unspoken words. Anushka stands just a little too close to Virat, the space between them practically non-existent.
Virat glances down at her, his voice a low murmur. “I’m still thinking about that challenge.”
“What challenge?” Anushka asks, a playful edge to her tone.
“Don’t play smart with me.” Virat winks, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Anushka tilts her head to meet his gaze, amusement dancing in her eyes. “There’s still a lifetime for you to prove yourself. You’re not going to do it here, in the elevator.” she says, her voice teasing but with an undertone of seriousness.
Virat steps closer, his breath warm against her ear. “You shouldn’t underestimate me, Anushka. If I want to do something, I won’t stop.”
Anushka swallows hard, the memory of the elevator scene in Fifty Shades of Grey flashing through her mind.
“Strip…” Virat whispers, his voice low and almost daring.
Anushka’s eyes widen in disbelief. “W-What?”
“Strip your panty and give it to me, as a good luck charm for my meeting.” Virat adds, his tone teasing but insistent.
Anushka raises an eyebrow, shock mixing with confusion. “What?”
Virat leans in closer, whispering once more, “I said, strip your panty.”
Anushka stumbles for words, her face flushing deeply. “V-Virat, my dress is short and—”
Virat bursts into laughter, unable to hold it in anymore. “Look at your face!” he chuckles, trying to calm himself. “I was joking.”
Anushka swats him playfully on the shoulder, relief and laughter mixing. “You scared me for a second. I really thought you were serious.”
Virat grins mischievously, still chuckling. “Worried about how you’d take it off in public?”
“No,” Anushka replies boldly. “I was worried about how I’d walk around after giving you my panty in this short dress.”
Virat blinks in surprise. He never expected such a bold response from Anushka—the shy, reserved woman he thought he knew. But there’s something different about her tonight. Something more daring.
Before he can say anything else, the elevator door dings open. A hotel employee steps inside, pressing the button for his floor, and the two fall into a charged silence. When the door opens a few moments later, the man steps out without a word, leaving the air heavy with the unspoken words between Virat and Anushka.
The rest of the elevator ride Is silent, the tension between them increases.

Once they arrive at the hotel room where Virat is to wait before the meeting, he paces the room, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts. The only sound is the steady ticking of the clock on the wall.
Anushka, standing at the balcony, enjoys the view of the city below. After a moment, she walks over to him, her steps soft but sure. “Virat,” she says, her voice cutting through the tension.
Virat stops, turning to face her. His gaze flickers between her eyes and the floor. “What if I mess it up? What if they say no? I’ve made so many mistakes the past six months. I can’t afford to mess this up. I need to make my dad proud.”
Anushka steps closer, her hands reaching up to gently place on his shoulders, grounding him. “You’re overthinking. You’re Virat Kabir Kulkarni, the son of Perfectionists Kabir Kulkarni and Savi Kulkarni. You can’t go wrong. Trust yourself. Don’t doubt your abilities. You’ve made countless deals before—just treat this like another one. That’s it.”
Virat lets out a long breath, her words slowly sinking in. The doubt doesn’t vanish entirely, but it softens.
Anushka steps even closer, her eyes warm with understanding. “I know you’re nervous. And that’s okay. But I believe in you. Kabir Uncle, Savi Aunty, Rahul, Shubman—they all believe in you. And the most important thing is that you stay true to yourself. Everything else will fall into place.”
Virat stares at her for a long moment, feeling the weight of her belief in him. He nods, the tension in his chest easing slightly. “You really think I can do this?”
“I know you can,” she replies firmly, her voice filled with quiet conviction.
Virat smiles, his confidence restored. He heads to the next room to join the meeting.
Meeting turns successful, they agreed to the deal, Virat becomes happy, he returns to the room, his face a mixture of triumph and pure joy. Bursting through the door, he finds Anushka standing by the window, lost in thought. When she hears the door open, she turns, just as Virat rushes toward her.
Before she can react, he pulls her into a tight hug, his heart racing with the adrenaline rush of his success. “I did it!” he exclaims, his voice thick with emotion. “The deal’s done. We got it!” His hands grip her shoulders, holding her steady, as if to make sure this moment is real.
Anushka, caught off guard, gasps softly, her arms wrapping around him instinctively. The warmth of his embrace, the excitement in his voice—it’s overwhelming. She can feel his heartbeat against hers, and it sends a jolt through her.
Virat pulls back, looking into her eyes. His gaze is raw, vulnerable. “Dad will be proud of me, right.?”
Anushka’s heart tightens at the question. “Yes. Not just Uncle, but the whole family will be proud of you. Even me.” she says softly, her voice barely a whisper. Her words are genuine, but there’s something more—something stirring deep inside her.
Virat smiles, a grin breaking out on his face. “You were right here with me the whole time.” He holds her gaze, his voice filled with gratitude. “Thank you for motivating me, for making me strong.”
Anushka’s chest tightens, his vulnerability catching her off guard. She never expected to see this side of him. “You just needed confidence, that’s it.” she says quietly, her voice soft with sincerity.
Virat grins again, his usual playful side returning. “Now, let’s go celebrate. How about dinner.?” His voice is light, filled with excitement.
Anushka laughs softly, still feeling the weight of the moment. “That sounds perfect.”
As they walk through the streets of Dubai, the warmth between them lingers. There’s a sense that this is just the beginning, that there’s so much more to discover. The night feels full of possibilities, and Anushka can’t shake the feeling that something deep inside her has shifted.
