Theo was asleep, using my lap as a pillow! I honestly have no clue how I managed to doze off next to the Master of nightmares himself but somehow I had. And when I had woken up I found Theo asleep, with his head in my lap.
I frowned as I looked at him.
All in all he really just looks like Nathan, if Nathan decided to dye his hair black.
Even though that thought crossed my mind, I knew that they were completely and utterly different from each other.
It's like comparing identical twins. You just shouldn't do it.
Theo twitched slightly in his sleep and I noticed something slither across his wrist eventually crawling onto his hand.
It took me a moment to realize that it was a tattoo, the same one that I had seen around Nathan's neck. It was a lot like those intricate Henna tattoos, it looked mesmerizing and beautiful at the same time.
I reached out and brushed my fingers over it slightly, a second later the tattoo shivered under my fingertips then it moved back a bit. I recoiled at first but returned to touching the tattoo.
A second later that marking I'd gotten when I had been attacked by those shadows started glowing fainted.
I blinked and when I opened my eyes I was standing in this odd looking hallway.
Black tile decorated the floor and it had bright, red, fuzzy looking walls. It almost looked like the walls were made of mold or something.
I noticed more of that black mist floating around, it weaved through the air curling around my ankles and gently touching them.
I was still in my pajamas, and this time there were no shackles or chains on me. Multiple metal doors lined the walls on each side and they were all locked with more than one heavy duty padlock and chains.
The left row of doors seemed less secure than the right side however. I frowned as I looked at each side.
"Nathan, and, Theo's memories? Maybe? Then I guess, Theo's are the ones with the more heavy duty locks," I whispered.
However on Nathan's side I noticed one door that stood out among all the rest. It was bolted, padlocked, and chained shut similar to Theo's doors.
I looked up as I noticed these little creatures floating around. They were wearing nothing but grey cloaks, and that was the only part that visible. They had one large, glowing, white eye and held a small lantern black lantern with a blue flame in it.
One floated up to me as I was examining the door on Nathan's side and it just kind of floated there.
"Um, can you help me unlock this door please?" I asked it hesitantly.
The creature turned to me slightly before it floated toward the door. It bobbed side to side in front of the door for a moment, before the door suddenly just burst open.
I stared at the opening in shock, "T-thank you," I told the creature but it was already gone.
I took a deep breath before I stepped forward through the doorway.
I came out in my own living room however things looked slightly different, and after a few moments of looking around I noticed a ten year old Nathan and I playing Mario Kart.
A moment later I dived on Nathan as my on screen character was hit with a blue turtle shell. My mom came in to break up our fighting. "Hey! Hey! Why are you two fighting?!" She asked us.
"Nathan, used a blue turtle shell on me!" I snapped.
"Sam, it's how you play the game, stop being dumb," Nathan told me.
My mom sighed and turned to Nathan, "Nathan, honey don't use blue turtle shells. Blue turtle shells are for bitches and you aren't one are you?"
"No, ma'am," he said.
"Just use a red one on her right before she takes first place and steal first place. It's how I play," my mom told him cheerfully.
"Mommy!" My younger self exclaimed.
"What? Mario Kart is a game best played dirty, you kids can only play for a little bit longer before it's time for bed," my mom told us.
"I remember this, my mom was babysitting, Nathan for, Tera," I whispered.
By the time it was time for Nathan and myself to go to bed, we laid down next to each other on an inflatable mattress on the living room floor. I was cuddling Mr. Panda in my arms.
"I can't sleep, I'm not tired," I told Nathan.
He smiled at me, "You'll get tired soon, it happens."
Nathan watched me as I fell asleep, it was after I fell asleep that the trouble started.
Nathan sat up next to me and frowned at my shadow which seemed to be slithering on the floor. "Leave her alone, she has nothing to do with this," he told it.
My shadow seemed to ignore him though as it doubled in size and morphed in appearance, gaining horns and claws.
Nathan whimpered but climbed on top of me, it took me a moment to realize what he was doing.
He was eating my nightmares and the causing the shadow to shrink as he did.
Nathan let out a groan as he rolled off of me. A few minutes later his body began convulsing and this odd looking black foam was coming out of his mouth.
All I could do was watch in horror, my body just kind of frozen. After a second or two it stopped and Nathan seemed to be okay, scared but okay.
"Holy shit, I can't believe, Ash actually had a little brat."
I turned my head to see Theo. A ten year old Theo would have been adorable if he didn't look like he was about to eat, my younger self.
"W-who are you," Nathan rasped. He wiped the tears out of his eyes as he looked up at Theo.
"I'm you're worst nightmare little boy and hers too. And let me just tell you that you fucked up when trying to help your little girl friend," he told Nathan.
"Don't about talk, Sam like that!"
Theo chuckled, "Oh, Sam? That's a nice name for her I like it. I'll definitely remember it."
Theo stretched and sneered at Nathan, "Well now, that I'm finally awake let's really get down to business."
I instantly recoiled from Theo who shifted slightly in his sleep.
Is it my fault that Theo woke up?
I frowned as another thought crossed my mind.
Why had Nathan never said anything about this?
