"What do you mean the sledge won't fly?!" he asked the elf who came on the delivering journey with him.

"It would appear the reindeer can't get it off the ground!" he replied walking around the sledge. 

"Can we fix it in time for Christmas?" Santa asks. The elf kicks the side of the sledge. 

"No," The elf replies and looks at a rowing boat not far from them. 

"You can't be serious!" He exclaims and looks at the reindeer. "They're not great swimmers." 

"You would have to leave the reindeer behind," the elf says. Santa sighs and runs a hand over his thick white beard. "And speed up time." 

"I guess I don't have a choice," Santa said and climbed into the rowing boat sprinkling Christmas magic into the water, it started glittering and glowing. The current picked up and required no rowing power. The present sack was filled to the brim with presents and just about balanced at the end of the boat. A few presents toppled out but with the magic in the river, they would turn up to their correct owners. A lantern in his hand lit his way, and the delivering could begin, Snat altered the time and sped things up as he was without his reindeer and sledge. He even put a few presents into the water to make the delivery process quicker. 

The water gently lulled against the sides of the boat, making it sway softly. Soon, Santa came down to the last present. He docked his boat by the lighthouse, which flashed and signalled to the large ships on the water. Santa used his special key to open the door and began the twisting, coiling stairs up to the top. The lighthouse keeper had decorated the stairs with warm white lights and a Christmas tree that was nautical-themed at the top. Santa placed the present gently under the tree before making it down to the bottom again and clambered into his boat making his way back to the sledge and reindeer. 

"Mission complete?" The elf asks. 

"Yes," Santa nods smiling. "Thank you for your suggestion, you saved Christmas." Santa gently hugs the elf.
