Christmas Shop
In an old dark street stood a vibrant glowing Christmas shop, its old wooden structure painted green. It had all the wonders of Christmas deep inside. In the window there were snow globes the snow and glitter swirled around inside, baubles hung from different hooks giving off the impression they were floating, wreaths lined the back wall and a nativity scene sat in the middle. Fake snow spewed from the corners of the shop from two fountains, most people didn't mind it. Silver bells sat on the front door that jingled softly as the green door opened. The intensity of the cosy warmth inside hit you the minute you walked over the threshold.
Baskets were filled to the brim with glass baubles of all different shapes, colours and sizes. The baskets were lined with ribbons. Antler baubles too lined the walls. A large tree stood in the corner entirely decorated with crystal baubles, not something you would like to knock over but the faceted tear drops glittered and glinted in the dim light of the shop. Christmas lights were wrapped around the huge columns of the shop and twinkled softly like stars. A fake white polar bear rug sat on the floor, it fur soft and pure white. The fireplace was huge and had stockings hanging from the greenery that had been placed above it. A large white marble reindeer head sat above it, red baubles hung from its thick antlers and a red ribbon framed its neck.
The twisting staircase had tinsel wrapped around the rail as it coiled up to the next floor filled with more Christmas goods. The second floor was even more exquisite, bows of all kinds had been laid out next to the ribbon. A large glittery Santa Claus stood in the corner he glittered as the light hit him, he was so lifelike he could have been mistaken for a living person, next to him was an igloo room. Here there were more snow globes and crystal baubles. A prancing glass deer hung from a royal blue ribbon and softly turned as any vibration on the floor made it move. Some of the snow globes played gentle symphonies after being wound up, all their domes made of the finest and thinnest crystal all handmade.
The blue lights twinkled above your head as you continued your journey into the snow globe room, glass snowflakes and icicles lined the ceiling twisting and glittering. Gentle Christmas music played and warmed the soul. Crystal nativity figures sat in the corner all perfectly placed down and polished to perfection. A huge champagne and white Nutcracker stood in the corner surrounded by smaller ones, it was almost like a shrine. The windows too were frosted over to make them look lifelike, Christmassy table runners sat folded up on a small old wooden table, the fabrics vibrant and glittering some soft to the touch while others were rougher. Stars sat above the table and swung softly back and forth gold, silver and bronze almost like a metallic rainbow.
As you descended another staircase sweets and candy canes lined the out coves, too many too choose from and all were a different colour and flavour. On the way down was an animatronic teddy bear trio playing gentle Christmas carols on their instruments. As you head further toward the door there are all kinds of Santa Claus baubles even the occasional Krampus ones, cuddly reindeer toys too are mixed in with the display. A giant lifelike one stood by the door too its back covered in fake snow and glitter, as you exit the silver bells gently ring again and the green door is closed till next year.
