Jewel's Winter Dalliance
"Tara, besh! Doon tayo!" I shrieked when I saw the beautifully perfectly inclined trees at Nami Island.
I swear, my cheeks are going to break with so much joy as soon as I was able to see the arc telling us that we have indeed reached Naminara Island. Despite the coldness we're experiencing, I still have so much energy under my three-layer clothing and a coral pink capelet.
My bestfriend, Charlotte Snow, who is a young adult fiction author just rolled her eyes at me. But, it didn't take her long enough for it to sink in. She grinned widely at me.
"Oh to the em to the gee, Jaaadee!" She couldn't help it and she hugged me.
"I know!!! Finally! Napuntahan na natin ang Land of Oppa!" I cried out in obvious glee and both of us hugged and jumped like kids.
Until we heard a click. We both turned to look and saw a tall, fair-skinned guy with a camera aiming at us. He grinned and winked at us before he proceeded to walk around and whistled carelessly.
"OMG! Da who sitetchiwa?" Charlotte hissed at me while I remained confused beside her.
"Ma at pa! Malay at pake ko. Tara na ngaaa! Kunan na kita ng picture, daliii!" I exclaimed and pulled out her phone while Charlotte started posing in front of the camera.
We walked and captured every angle around Nami Island. They passed by First Kiss Glass Sequoia Bridge and snapped some solo and groufie pics. Afterwards, we went to the famous Metasequioa lane.
"Shocks! Bakit ang gandaaa!" I sighed in contentment after seeing the long array of perfectly inclined trees which became the global symbol of Nami Island.
I am sure that me and Charlotte's thoughts are the same. Experiencing below 6° temperature is already a memorable one but seeing the magnificent snowy lane is another.
"Picturan mo na ako, besh, dali!" It was the moment that lifted my friend's spirits up. The view is indeed bewitching and dazzling.
After a few minutes, I started admiring the picturesque view. I made sure to snap a lot of pictures in every corner to remind me how beautiful and that I have set foot in the majestic Nami Island.
But someone keeps getting in the way.
A guy who either looks at my camera or poses a wacky picture.
Gawin daw ba akong photographer!
Frowning, I approached him.
"Uh, excuse me, pero nakaharang ka sa view."
"Hello to you too. This is a public place. You really expected that you will have it all to yourself, Sarmiento?" He smirked and left me gaping at him.
"Hoy! Bakit mo alam apelyido ko?" I called out to him but he didn't look back at me.
Stomping my feet in frustration, I turned around and saw Charlotte walking towards me, her hands inside her pockets.
"Anong nangyari?" She asked and I blew out some air.
"The guy keeps ruining my photos. The odd thing is, he knows me. Gosh! Kilala niya ako! Alam niya family name ko!" I exclaimed.
Charlotte giggled and raised an eyebrow at me.
"Bakit nahihimigan ko ang pagkakilig dyan sa boses mo than you being annoyed at him?" She teased and my brows furrowed.
"Hoy, hindi ah!" I protested but I could feel my cheeks flaming. "Rosy cheeks lang talaga ako!"
"Sana lahat, besh!" She mocked and laughed. She linked her arm with me and we began strolling out. "Come on, pangit pag bad mood. Picturan na lang kita doon."
"Kilalang-kilala mo nga ako, Nyebe!" I grinned at her and posed for the camera.
Just like what I experienced, someone snapped a picture of us again. And, Charlotte had it. She complained to the guy.
It turned out that he is a photographer here in Seoul. He handed out his business card at her and I instantly like him for my best friend.
He is charming and really good-looking. Bagay na bagay sila ni beshie ko.
Ako kaya, kailan?
Hay nako.

Next day came and me and Charlotte had our breakfast. Technically, today is our last day here. It is also our free day.
I suggested calling Trevor but she didn't approve of it. I made some crazy move and now, here we are inside his car.
It was amazing to know that he is her fan. My best friend is indeed a famous author.
Her fans are all over the world! Wow!
He brought us to Myeongdong Church and it is so solemn and pretty.
When we got inside, we went to an empty chair, kneeled and said our prayers.
After some time, I felt someone sat beside me. My eyebrows raised when I recognized him.
It was the guy from Nami Island! The annoying photobomber!
"Magdasal ka, wag mo akong titigan." He whispered with a low chuckle.
"Kapal mo." I hissed at him.
"Still the same old, Jade." He shook his head.
I was about to say something when we saw Trevor stood up, me and Charlotte did so.
"Really, nakalimutan mo na talaga ako?" He said as he walked with us as we went out of the Church.
"Stop being cryptic!" I couldn't help it when we were finally outside and a few meters away from the Church. I gave Charlotte and Tristan some time alone and this guy, never leave me alone.
"Kung noon, hinayaan kitang mawala. Pwes, hindi na ngayon." He said and I met his gaze.
I started to finally look at him. From his thin eyebrows, to his pointed nose to his intricate jawline and his thick lips.
I gasped when I realized who he is.
Gone was his chubby appearance and I-don't-care snobbish aura.
There goes his dimples that always sweep me away.
"Yes, it is me, Jeremy." He said with a toothy smile. "Your childhood bestie and now, that we are a lot older, I want to be more than that. I want to call you mine."
"I don't think that's a bad idea." I said and grinned at him.
I never thought that spending Christmas here in Seoul will lead me to having a true love that's been waiting for me.
And this, is my winter dalliance.
