My first couple of weeks working with the MDPD crime lab went very well,it felt like I hadn't been away for so many years. But my good times ran out pretty quick,my car broke down on the way to a meeting and I had to get it taken to a garage. Then when I collected my car I learned that someone had filled my car with diesel instead of petrol,which almost ruined the entire engine.

Since it was my day off I had plenty of time to take the engine of my car apart and work on removing the diesel by hand. What I didn't expect was to be arrested and taken to the lab in handcuffs. I sat waiting in one of the interrogation rooms to see who would talk to me, I got my answer a couple of moments later when the door opened and H's son Kyle came in.

"Care to tell me what is going on here,amateur hour?" I ask him
"Do you know a man by the name of Sam Bates?" Kyle asks sitting down in front of me
"Of course I know him,he is the one who almost ruined my car" I say
"Did you or did you not confront him at his place of work,and argue openly with him?"
"Yes why?" I ask.

"Sam Bates was found dead in his garage this afternoon, and you Y/n where the last person to see him alive" Kyle tells me
"Bollocks" I say,this shitty day was getting worse as the day went on"So because I argued with a now dead guy,I had to kill him?"
"You did see him last alive and there are several witnesses to your disagreement" Kyle points out.

"OK amateur hour let me talk to a grown up" I say,and to my luck the door opens and Horatio walks in
"What's going on?" He asks his son
"Y/n here was the last one to see Sam Bates alive" Kyle says
"How do you know this?" Horatio asks
"Two separate eye witnesses have both told police to have seen Y/n argue with Bates before he died" Kyle says.

"Look the guy almost killed my car,and that might not seem like much to you kid but I love that car" I say
"Are you getting angry over a car?" Kyle asks
"Believe me boy,if I was angry you would know about it" I say annoyed
"Is that a threat?"
"No its the truth, its is known that Y/n had a bad temper" Horatio says.

"That doesn't mean she didn't get angry at Bates and kill him" Kyle argues
"I know Y/n better than you do, I know for a fact she didn't kill him" H tells his son
"See listen to the your dad" I say
"If you didn't kill Bates can any one provide a alibi for you?" Kyle asks
"I was at home all morning, until I was brought in. I live alone" I say.

"So no alibi then?" Kyle asks standing up
"Y/n's home has CCTV that can prove what she is saying to be true" Horatio says
"How do you know that?" Kyle asks his dad
"A lot of homes have CCTV" I point out
"Let me talk to Y/n alone" Horatio says, once Kyle has left the room,H removed my handcuffs.

"Why didn't you tell him?" I ask
"Tell who what?" Horatio asks
"Why didn't you tell Kyle about us,you had the chance to?" I point out
"As soon as we get the CCTV footage from your house,we can prove you didn't kill Sam Bates" Horatio says ignoring my question
"So go to my home,get the footage and prove me right" I say" and then we can have that date "
"Catch up"
