Chapter Four
Astrid and Prescott were the first ones to arrive after Olivier. Astrid was heavily pregnant with their first child, but she still looked good with her blonde hair left long and in waves, and wearing a black lily midi dress with heels while Prescott just wore a simple red Kenzo tiger shirt and jeans. "Thank GOD you're here," Rosalie said as she hugged her best friend. "Guess who's back from hell to try and ruin our Christmas."
"Lily?" Astrid guessed as Olivier went and helped Prescott.
"She's next door, right now, probably having a grand ol' time plotting to find out how to come over here and ruin everything." Rosalie shook her head as she led Astrid in the house. "Oh, one more thing," she leaned close to her friend's ear, "I know the mystery woman Raegan may be possibly seeing behind Gen's back."
"Who?"
"Remember Natalia Steele from Dallas?"
Astrid thought about it before nodding. "She's the one who has that wild child sister, Candice?"
"That's the one."
"Her and Raegan? No," Astrid gasped once she figured it out. "Rae could never. That girl's supposed to be somewhere in Siesta Key with her husband and three kids."
"Three?!" That stopped Rosalie in her tracks. "She has three kids?!"
Astrid nodded. "That's what Natalia told me when we last talked. She just had her third kid a couple months ago, and one day she stopped sleeping with her husband. Though I thought it was because she was going through the postpartum depression, where you fall into this depression as soon as the babies are born, but if she's sleeping around with Raegan, then she's in for a rude awakening." she shivered just thinking of the many ways Genevieve could kill this girl if she ever found out about the two of them.
Rosalie nodded too as she led her friend to the kitchen so she can get some food. "Well we won't know that if Raegan's cheating on Gen," she assured her, though something was nagging her that Lily was right, that Raegan was cheating on her best friend with Candice. Could she be worth the trouble? She and Astrid needed to talk to Genevieve stat if she needed to see where Genevieve's head was at. "Remember the last girl that ever talked to Raegan?"
Olivier and Prescott looked over at the two women, confused as ever when the both of them started to shiver. "Are you two okay?" Olivier asked, brushing off the crumbs of his sandwich off his red Polo Ralph Lauren shirt. "You two looked like you've seen a ghost or something."
"Not a ghost, love. Something worse." Astrid nodded her head as she went to grab a ham and cheese sandwich. "We're scared of what Gen would do if she found out about Raegan."
Both men looked at one another, confused. "What would she do, exactly?" Prescott asked, helping his wife sit down so she can eat.
"There was this one time in college, when a girl tried to talk to Raegan...and I mean tried," Rosalie explained. "No one had seen the girl the next day or the day after that...until a month later. Girl was too scared to talk to anyone or even look at Rae a certain way ever again." Once again, both girls shivered at the memory, getting both of them confused.
"Are you saying that Genevieve...nice, sweet Genevieve...did something to this girl?" Olivier asked, not really believing it.
"Oh she did. And it wasn't pretty." Astrid answered inbetween bites as the doorbell rang.
Both women jumped at the sound, while Irena shook her head. She muttered something in Polish before going to the door. "If she finds out about Candice..." Rosalie whispered as Irena announced that Raegan and Genevieve were here. Looking at all three of them sympathetically, she got up and went to the door to greet them, leaving the three of them sitting there, the men confused.
"Genevieve cannot be that scary...can she?" Prescott asked over the cheery hellos and the kisses on each cheek. "I mean...she's nice...in a good way."
"She is...but don't get on her bad side." Astrid whispered as Rosalie, Genevieve and Raegan walked in. Everyone said their hellos and Genevieve and Raegan grabbed their plates before Rosalie told them that Lily was here, and it looked like they were going to have a bit of trouble this holiday.
"Not if I go over there and cuss her blonde ass out." Genevieve huffed, patting her lips with her napkin. "She's not ruining this Christmas for any damn body, especially me. In fact, I'll go cuss her ass out right now-"
"Baby, don't. We don't need you startin' somethin' already because y'all don't like the girl." Raegan said, placing a hand on her arm. "Just give her time and she'll leave us alone for Christmas."
"Like? Oh baby, we don't like the bitch. We hate her," Genevieve growled. "She spread so many damn rumors about us, it's sickening. Someone needs to go over and give her a piece of her own medicine, dammit."
"And I thought I felt my ears burning the moment I heard my name," Lily said, making everyone turn to look at her. Genevieve dropped her fork and went over to her, standing nose to nose with her. "What the hell do you want, you trash?"
"You, you rat nosed bitch."
"Me? A rat?"
"You wouldn't be here right now if I didn't break every bone in your damn body. I'm guessin' you're here to see if everyone else showed up. As you can tell, we did. And you're not invited to our holiday fun. So turn your perky blonde ass around and leave. We don't need your ugly bottom-feeder ass face around here."
Lily snorted. "You've always had a mouth, Genevieve. No wonder why your family is part of the mafia-or is it the mob, I don't remember. Anyway, I'm not here for you-though what I have to say to your husband, for that matter..."
"What you gotta say to my man you can say to me."
"Fine, have it your way. Raegan dear? Your boss called me, wondering if you're going to be training for the New Year's Eve game this year?" Lily asked, her voice coated with honey. "We don't want you all tired out for our chance to win the Stanley Cup."
Astrid and Rosalie looked at one another, trying to figure out if Genevieve needed help, but then again, she never did as she stood her full height. "He's going to get a lot of training with me," Genevieve spat. "He'll call his boss back and tell him that he is."
"Of course he is. Though I don't think Coach Steele would mind an update." Lily sing-songed, making both Astrid and Rosalie look at one another again in horror. If Lily did what they think she just did...
"Who the fuck is-" Genevieve asked before Raegan cut them off.
"Thank you kindly, Lily. I'll call coach and tell 'em." he said, grabbing his wife and pulling her away from her.
"Yeah, kindly fuck off now, you dumb bitch. Go ruin someone else's life!" Genevieve shouted behind Lily's retreating backside.

"Are you really seeing Candice behind Genevieve's back?" Olivier asked.
The men were alone-finally-and went to Moe's Crosstown Tavern for a couple beers, leaving the girls back at the house so they can finally talk.
Raegan drank deeply before he spoke. It was something not spoken aloud to friends, but..."Yeah, I kinda am." he answered slowly. "Why?"
"I've dated Candice before-well, just a couple days. I can tell you now, she's trouble with a capital T."
"But are you sleeping with her?" Raegan asked, making the Luxemborugish man's eyes widen a bit.
"What?"
"Hell, I'm sleepin' with her. I don't know what it is, but she's like a wildcat in bed."
"I hope to hell Genevieve doesn't hear you say that," Prescott mumbled, shaking his head. "If she does, then Candice ain't gonna be livin' in the world."
"That's why I want you guys to keep it quiet. I'm gonna go see her tonight, and y'all gonna say that we partied all night and came home late."
"Problem."
"What?'
"Astrid can smell a lie a mile way-and don't get me started with Rosie and her intuition."
Raegan cursed. "So...how about we say that y'all left early, and I went to one more bar?" he asked, having a feeling that it'll work. He watched as both men looked at one another, then sighed and nodded. A soft smile tugged his lips as he finished off his beer and asked for another, all the while Prescott and Olivier looked at one another, then shook their heads. They knew what Raegan was doing was wrong, and if Genevieve found out about him and Candice, then there was going to be hell to pay-and a dead body missing in Charleston.
"Welcome to South Carolina, friend." was the only thing Prescott told Olivier.
