December 22nd | Part 2
Worried, Chan looked out at the increasingly heavily falling snow and turned to Minho. "They've been on the road for a long time. Maybe we should go search for them."
"Have you tried to call them? Maybe everything is fine."
With skeptically raised eyebrows, Chan shook his head. "Hyunjin's phone is in the kitchen and Felix' is upstairs in his bedroom. They both ran out without snow pants and it's snowing like crazy!"
"Well okay, then we'll get dressed and search for them if you think that's necessary. Preferably in teams, so that no one else gets lost," sighing, Minho pulled Jisung with him into the hallway, where their ski equipment was waiting for them in large, messy piles.
Changbin, Seungmin and Jeongin also followed to get dressed, while Chan went back into the kitchen to fill two thermos bottles with tea.
"We should also pack ski pants. And gloves, scarves and beanies." With two backpacks in his hands, Chan came into the hallway, where the others were already waiting for him.
"We'll pack that. Get dressed so we can leave right away," Minho suggested and took over the packing of the ski equipment for Felix and Hyunjin.
Armed with flashlights and backpacks, teams of three made their way into the thickly falling snow. Within the last hour, at least ten centimeters of snow had fallen and Chan reproached himself insanely that they hadn't already went out to search for the two.
They remained for a moment in front of the hut and looked around. But through the freshly fallen snow, all traces that Felix and Hyunjin had left had long since disappeared. Thus, they had no other option than to split up and look for the two without a real plan.
Changbin had teamed up with Seungmin and Jeongin, while Minho had silently reached for Chan's and Jisung's hands and had went in the opposite direction.
"I don't get it, we just went straight," Hyunjin cursed, staring angrily at the two paths that went away from the one they had been on for the last twenty minutes.
Felix remained silent. He wasn't really sure where they were or how they could get home.
The snow fell in thick flakes from the sky and theoretically the whole thing could have been incredibly romantic. But in the meantime, the two were quite freezing and had quite big doubts whether they were even going in the right direction. To make matters worse, they had noticed that they had both left their phones in the hut and couldn't even call the others to ask for help.
"Do you think they're looking for us," Felix finally asked quietly.
"Probably...", even though he would have liked to send Chan to hell, Hyunjin knew exactly how seriously Chan took his role as head of the family.
Nevertheless, he felt also quiet uneasy.
"Actually, we only could've come from that direction. Let's go that way." Hyunjin decidedly reached for Felix's hand and pulled him in the direction that he thought was the right one. Felix's hand was even colder than his own and Hyunjin frowned worriedly, but he said nothing about it.
Silently they trudged side by side through the ever-rising snow. The hope of being back in the warmth soon made them to go faster, even if they could hardly see the way in front of them.
Only when the forest around them became denser again and the falling snow had turned into a snowstorm, the two stopped and looked at each other in despair.
"FUCK!" Hyunjin screamed and would have liked to beat up something, but next to him stood only Felix, whom he had definitely already caused enough damage.
Almost panicked, Hyunjin turned around himself and tried to find out where they were, which was nearly impossible because of the snowstorm.
"Okay, we'll just go back the way we came and take the other one," Felix tried to calm the older one and gently pulled him with him.
Trembling, they followed their barely visible traces, but it was insanely difficult for them to keep their eyes open. Again and again snowflakes flew into their eyes and robbed them of their sight.
Too late, Hyunjin noticed the branch that was torn from the tree by the strong wind. He stumbled over a hidden stone in the snow when trying to push Felix out of the way and could only watch from the ground how the branch crashed on Felix's head.
With a painful groan, Felix fell to the ground and remained unconscious.
