48 Simran in the kitchen
Part 48 Simran in the kitchen
Ratna went to call Simran who was sitting with Shyam.
"Damadji, shall I take your sister with me?" Ratna asked.
Shyam looked at Simran and nodded ok.
"Don't worry... I just am taking her to the kitchen. Prakash brothers went to their native to attend a funeral. I just want a helping hand in the kitchen. that's why" Ratna said reading Simran's facial expression who was shocked. Did she call her to work in the kitchen? What the hell...!
"You are the one who permitted her to stay here, aunty. you can take her anywhere you want" Shyam said.
"Thank you..."
Ratna looked at Simran.
"Shall we go?"
Simran was stuck.
"Kitchen? but I don't know anything"
"Aunty will teach you..." Shyam said before Ratna answered her.
Simran went to the kitchen with Ratna fuming.
"When did the Prakash brothers go to their native?" Simran asked.
"In the morning... I was worried about not having anyone help me in the kitchen. Thank God you came to RM" Ratna said controlling her laughter.
"Did you permit me to stay in RM only to get my help in the kitchen?" Simran asked unbelievably.
"Of course, yes... Anju and Khushi are newly wedded brides. They would like to be with their respective husbands. How can I disturb them? Won't their hearts break?" she said feeling said.
Simran was like what the hell... to keep her children happy with their partners, how cunningly this woman agreed to her stay here.
"Come on, come on, don't waste time. My children will be hungry. When they come downstairs, I should keep their lunch ready. They will be tired..." she said with a little blush that made Simran annoyed.
Ratna smiled inwardly.
"You first wash the utensils. I will chop vegetables. Ok? We can finish the work if we do that sharing. Make it fast"
"Actually, I don't know to wash utensils"
"Whaaaat? Don't you even know a such simple thing? Before learning such basic survival skills, how did you think of getting married? Thank God, I got a GOOD daughter-in-law who is an expert in the kitchen"
"She is a middle-class girl after all..."
"She is a computer engineer you know? She is designing an AR site" Ratna said proudly which irritated Simran like hell.
"And... Anju does all the work but she is not a middle-class girl"
"But she has you... you would have taught her everything"
"Not only Anju but also you have me... don't worry. I will teach you everything and will make you a good cook"
"Why do you do these things by your own when you can bring alternative servants to RM?"
"Because this is my house. It's a much-needed feeling every woman should have. Not that, men should not do that. They would also be ready for everything. That's what a family is. Our family didn't get such a pleasant feel ever before because your father never let my husband be a good husband" she intentionally said.
Simran murmured something but Ratna didn't mind about it because she knew Simran was scolding her. who cared?
In Arshi room
"Whaaaat? Did you ask Amma to take Simran to the kitchen?"
"Yeah... she will be helping Mom in the kitchen by now"
"The much I know about her, she doesn't know any galley work. She asked me to prepare coffee once."
"That's the task... she will do that easily if she knows that. Let her know how hard it's to work in the kitchen"
"But why, Arnavji?"
"Then how could she leave RM?"
"Do you think she will leave RM if Amma asks her to work?"
"Maybe... or, she will be annoyed. She won't get time to annoy us at least"
"Arnavji, let me see, what Hungama she is doing in the kitchen"
"No need. Mom will take care of her"
"What will Amma think if I'm with you in the room, that too in the daytime?"
Arnav opened his mobile and showed it to Khushi.
*Don't let Khushi out of your room*
It was Ratna's message. Khushi dropped her jaw.
"She doesn't want us to disturb her MISSION. So, don't you dare go out and be with me" Arnav said.
Khushi thought something with widened eyes. Arnav chuckled.
"Oi, DUO-EYED Darling, what is running in your poor brain?"
Khushi pulled her legs up and sat on the bed, folding her legs.
"Arnavji, do you know what happened in my neighbor's house?"
"Which neighbor's house?"
"Lucknow neighbor house"
"Oh... what happened?"
"there was a woman called Vimla Mousi..."
"Mmm" Arnav leaned on the bed, keeping his left hand under his head.
"She got her son married..."
"what's the big deal?"
"Wait Arnavji... don't interfere"
Arnav flinched back and nodded ok with a smile.
"the very next day of her son's marriage, he didn't come out of the room for lunch and stayed with his newly wedded wife"
"Dude must be my category" Arnav laughed.
Khushi glared at him.
"Continue..."
"Do you know what happened after that?"
"What?"
"A big fight"
"Whaaaat? But why?"
"Vimla Mousi fought with her new daughter-in-law for trapping her son"
Arnav got stuck for a few seconds and laughed out louder. Khushi chuckled seeing his laughing form.
"Then?"
"Her daughter-in-law started scolding her"
"Scolding? For what?
"For brining-up an uncontrollable son"
Arnav again laughed.
"The total area people gathered there to watch their fight. Vimla Mousi scolded her Bahu for being shameless and the daughter-in-law scolded Vimla Mousi for her overeating son"
"Wait... in the whole scenario, what was the role of the newly wedded guy?"
"He silently ate lunch and slept"
"He must have become tired after working hard..."
Arnav laughed falling on the bed.
"Khushi, how would it have looked like if you and Mom fight like that?"
Khushi was looking at him with a pout.
"Ok... what's the point? Why are you remembering your Vimla Mousi all of a sudden?"
"Maximum of mothers-in-law are like Vimla Mousi only. Some of them may not show their bitterness openly but they won't be genuinely good. But Amma is exceptional. She is so nice"
"Don't come to a conclusion in haste Khushi... wait for a few more days"
"For what?"
"Di is going to France in two days... after that, she will be left alone. I think after that; you will see your Vimla Mousi in your mother-in-law"
"Go, Arnavji... Amma is a good woman. She won't be like Vimla Mousi" she said pouting.
"Ok... enough of giving credit to your Mother-in-law. Think about your husband who is in front of you"
"I'm looking at you only"
"You are looking at me, keeping distance" he pointed to the gap between them.
"You could also come close to me," she said looking somewhere with a slight blush.
In no time, rolling on the bed, Arnav came close to her. pulling her down, he came over to her.
"I have no problem coming close to you. I would happily do that" he pecked her cheek.
"I didn't know you have such a cheesy side"
"I too don't know you have such a cute side. You were like a good devotee before our marriage"
"Do you know how scared I was when I saw you for the first time?"
"Yeah... I had seen fear in your eyes that day when you fell on my arms"
"I didn't even imagine that day that you would become my husband"
"Either me..." he tucked her hair behind her ear.
They smiled at each other.
"You are looking beautiful," Arnav said.
"You are also looking dashing... that's why Simran is working hard in our kitchen" she laughed.
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Khushi, you are an expert in spoiling romantic moments..."
"Why? What I did do?"
"Why did you think of a Devil when we are in a MOOD?"
"Mood? Who is in Mood?" she asked swallowing.
"Are not you?" he asked seriously.
She nodded no hurriedly.
"You don't have to be in a mood but me"
"Won't you ask me whether it pains or not?"
"Pain? What pain Khushi?"
She made a face.
"By the way, why did you talk about pain when we are in a good mood?"
"Good mood? Did you talk only about good mood?"
"Haannn... what did you think?"
"I... leave it"
"What mood did you think? Romantic mood?" he asked teasingly.
"Go, Arnavji..." she tried to turn opposite to him.
Arnav gripped her strongly.
"Is it paining?"
She nodded no and then yes.
"Ok... we will do nothing until it heals. Ok?"
"It's ok..."
"Don't be so generous... I'm not like you" he smiled.
"You are so good"
"Really?"
"My Babuji would have felt happy if he is alive"
"Do you miss him?"
She pressed her lips and sighed.
"What's the use of thinking about him now? It's over..."
Arnav sighed. He got distracted by his mobile ring. He saw the name and the call were from the assistant commissioner. He sat on the bed and attended to the call.
"Hello, sir"
"ASR, Ajay Singh is still in Delhi"
"Is it? How do you know sir?"
"Not only him but also a few of his men. We caught one of his men today. We didn't get any information other than this one. Ajay Singh is still in Delhi. Just be alert. Be careful until he gets caught"
"Thank you, sir. I will be careful"
"You can call me anytime if needed"
"Sure Sir"
Arnav disconnected the call.
"What happened Arnavji?" Khushi asked.
"Nothing" Arnav smiled at her pleasantly and didn't want to make her frightened by telling the truth.
To be continued...
