Chapter eight: Darkness sets ahead...
Next day, 10 o'clock
Xaver flew ahead, his father following behind him. "Who is this girl?" Jonathan asked. "Oh, she is a girl I like" Xaver responded, not telling him the whole truth. Jonathan nodded, a ghost of a smile on his beak. Soon enough, Xaver and his father reached the Brazil nut grove, the pair waved down by Clary, who was waiting with her parents. "Hey" Clary said as Xaver and Jonathan landed on the tree limb. "Hey to you too" Xaver said after a quick embrace. "Xaver, these are my parents" Clary introduced, waving to the two other macaws, warm smiles on there faces. "So you are the one Clarissa has been talking about! I can see why you like him; he is charming. My name is Crystal" Clarys mother introduced with a wing shake. "I am Josh" Clarys dad said with a wing shake as well.
"This is my dad, Jonathan" Xaver told them in return. Soon all of the adults were talking to each other, leaving Xaver and Clary to talk to themselves quietly. "You ready to tell them?" Xaver asked right as the adults turned to them, Josh having a proud grin on. "Your father speaks greatly of you; I will be expecting no less from you as my future son-in-law" Josh said with a note of seriousness. "About that..." Xaver began before putting a wing around Clary, both of them smiling as the adults put two and two together, wide smiles being the result. Crystal squealed happily at the news.
"My little girl, all grown up" Crystal said, her eyes filled with un-shed happy tears. Josh had a surprised look on his face, one that quickly turned to seriousness. "You better treat her right or I will find you" Josh told Xaver gravely. "Y-yes sir" Xaver stuttered, not expecting that reaction from Clarys father. "Your mom would be so proud" Jonathan said with a sad grin as he congratulated his son. "Thanks dad; I know she would be" Xaver told his dad.
After much talking, a important question came to Xavers mind. "Clary, where will we stay?" Xaver asked. "Why, we go hollow searching tomorrow" Clary told him like it was obvious. Nodding to her, Xaver asked if she would meet him here tomorrow. "Sure thing" Clary told him. "Great; see you tomorrow" Xaver told her before both-now-one family flew to separate directions, eager for tomorrow.
--somewhere underground--
A picture off Xaver and Clary flying away was on a mirror before clearing up. "Good" was all a macaw said, his steel-like eyes cold with malice. The macaw left to return to the center of the area, a bubbling pot of a unknown liquid boiling next to a hole in the ground, its depth unknown. "The chosen one has found a mate" the macaw stated, taking one knee. A hiss came form the pot, one a evil joy. "It is almost time, but there is one thing I need. Blood from the chosen one will be the key to my resurrection" the voice said, directing it to the macaw. "Yes master; I have someone who is hunting him. Blood will be brought soon" the bird promised. A loud hiss came from the pot. "Let the chosen one live; do not kill him" the voice from the pot ordered. "Yes master, but why? Won't it be easy to-" all the macaw said before he felt a grip on his neck, quickly silencing him. "DO I HEAR DOUBT?!?" the voice roared. "No,no master" the macaw said before he was released, gasping for breath. "I wan't him alive; he will be the first I kill" the voice said faintly, the pot cooling, telling the macaw his master lost connection. Knowing his master would sense his doubt, the left the room, going with his masters plan only on his mind.
A darkness is a brewin'; lets hope Xaver will be ready, the fate of the world in his wings.
Sorry for the short chapter to all my future readers. School has been a real pain, but it takes priority over all else.
