Alternative Fiction - Profile Overview
The AlternativeStorytelling profile proposes to discover other ways to tell stories and write fiction.
Those alternative ways cover from the "Choose your own adventure" type of story to audiobook, via a variation of multimedia and graphic supports.
The stories we aim to showcase can be classified in the five (5) following categories:
📗 Interactive Stories📗
In an Interactive story, "the storyline is not predetermined. The author creates the setting, characters, and situation which the narrative must address, but the user experiences a unique story based on their interactions with the story world." (Source: Wikipedia)
Those stories, originally of a gamebook form, evolve to cover a variety of media support. The aim remains: you choose your own path, your own adventure!
🗒️Screenplays 🗒️
Being for the film industry (screenplay), television (teleplay), video game (gameplay) or theatre (play), scriptwriting follows specific codes and structure.
🖌️Graphic Stories 🖌️
We consider graphic stories as any story that is supported by graphics: graphic novels, comics, manhua, manhwa, manga, illustrations book/illustrated stories, illustrations, photonovels, etc.
🔉 Audiobooks 🔉
Audiobooks are stories delivered via a recording. In this category, any story recorded in full or party will have their place.
⏩ Multimedia Stories ⏪
Many media can be used to enhance a story, to deliver a story in a hybrid form of storytelling. Multimedia stories vary from a mix of audio/video/graphic. If a story is supported by various media and does not fit specifically in the above categories, we consider it "multimedia".
