Logan straightened his tie. "I will go," he said simply before walking off. He passed by Roman to get to the hallway with all of their rooms, but before he could get through, Roman set a hand on his shoulder, effectively making him stop in his tracks.
"Are you sure? I can go if you want me to," Roman offered.
"I appreciate the offer, but I believe I may have hurt him the most due to my actions, so my presence may help ease him of his hysterics," Logan explained.
Roman nodded. "Just... don't talk like that. He's like a piece of glass. Don't break him." Roman looked stern as he said this and Logan nodded in understanding. Roman let go of Logan's shoulder and the intellectual carried on towards Patton's room.
He knocked three times on the father figure's door, waiting for a response. There was no answer for awhile, so Logan spoke up.
"Patton, do I have permission to come in?" Still nothing. He sighed. "I know you are in there Patton and I want to help you. I'm not here to make fun of you. I just... I've noticed something was off and I wanted to check and make sure you were alright."
"I'm fine, Logan," a small voice called from behind the door.
"'Fine' is not 'alright,'" Logan corrected. He heard a faint sigh before the door opened.
"Logan, I just want to be left alone," the male in front of him stated with a sad look. Logan pressed his lips into a thin line.
"Statistically speaking, leaving a person alone can negatively affect their mood and mental state. Patton, I am just trying to help-"
"Your 'help' isn't very helpful," Patton shot back. He closed the door, leaving Logan stunned on the other side. He exhaled deeply, waiting for about a minute for the door to open again, but it didn't.
When he had finally accepted that the door wouldn't open again, even if he knocked, he walked back to the others. The only one in the living room left was Virgil, he was sitting on the couch with his legs pulled up to his chest.
The anxious trait immediately caught him in his sight and scrunched his eyebrows together. "That was quick. Is something wrong?"
Logan sighed, taking a seat beside Virgil on the couch. "I did exactly what Roman told me not to do."
"What happened?" Logan turned to his left-brain counterpart, then turned to his hands, which sat limply in his lap.
"Roman informed me that he's a metaphorical piece of glass that could figuratively break if 'dropped'. He asked me not to speak to him like I normally do, and I assume he meant for me to speak in a way that was sincere and not analytical, which is rather hard for me, as evident from Patton's reaction when I spoke to him incorrectly earlier." Logan sighed, forgetting about his posture. He leaned forward with his elbows on his lap. "I just hope I didn't make Patton worse than he already was..."
"If you're afraid of that, then apologize," Virgil said. "Honestly, do you think with your head? You don't need a heart to know that he's in danger of losing himself entirely. Either you go fix the situation or I will."
Logan had a choice now. He could go back and try to talk to Patton again or he could send Virgil.
