"You guys did a great job, congrats; the party held this evening  was a blast and I am really proud of this new crew. You both have Saturday nights to yourselves after our meeting; here are your cheques; Thank you so much and have a good night" the manager said before we went home.

"Today wasn't so bad" Allan said

"Says the person who came into the hall sweating like crazy" I commented.

"I was doing something" he laughed then saw my face "Its not what you think"

I laughed then replied "Okay oh"

"Goodnight AIVY" he said

"Goodnight" I said as well both walked to our cars.

I quietly went to my car and realized it was already 10:45pm. I drove down to the house and got back exhausted. I started recalling what happened until my phone rang.

*Abnormal one 🤧💝*

(Mehn I forgot to call him back)

Me: 'Hello?'

Abnormal one 🤧💝: "What's going on?"

Me: "I've just been occupied with a lot of things I'm so sorry" I said in a tired tune.

Abnormal one🤧💝: "You are always occupied with all manner of things but you always make sure you disturb me at least twice a day and by this time you're always with your phone but i've called severally but no answer; Avy what's going on?" He asked and it was heartbreaking.

I was speechless for a second then answered

Me: I'm really sorry there's a lot I want to tell you about but I've just been occupied with stupid thoughts which got me confused so I followed my stupid instincts and there were results; can we please meet up tomorrow in the afternoon; I promise I'll explain every single thing. Please???"

Abnormal one 🤧💝: "Okay but that doesn't mean I'm happy with you" he said in a dissapointed tune.

Me: "Thanks a lot. Love you bye"

Abnormal one🤧💝: 'Bye' then he cut the call.

Ziri's POV

I can't believe she didn't bother to call me for three days and its really bothering me. We've been best friends for over 10 years and this was really odd. She had been acting weird for a while and I was really busy.

(10 years ago)

"Hey, Avy" I said with a smirk on my face

"He" she said shyly

Avery and I both resided in port harcourt so we knew each other before she came to Krista High. Our parents were good friends and my Dad and her mum were doing business together at my Dad's company but we didn't hang out much although Zara, Ayden and I were close. We were always doing our own things separately before she came to Krista High and if someone had told me I would be so concerned and worried about her back then I would think theyve gone crazy.

We were close friends but she felt shy talking to me; at first I thought it was personal but I realized that was how she was towards guys my age. As at then she couldn't even hurt a fly talk less of her being strong (no offense) I always felt like protecting her in school even when she didn't need it at school; this led me to have a little crush on her (which faded away after our 11th grade) and she was one of the reasons I.B amd I never got along. Honestly, I was happy circumstances hindered me from taking my feelings to the next level otherwise some things would never remain the same.

(11th Grade)

'Ziri!!' she called out my name as she ran towards my direction

"Yeah, what's up" I asked smiling at her

"I.B asked me to be his girlfriend!" she screamed

"What?" I said out of shock

"I know right? At first I thought he was weird but he confessed his feelings to me, he asked me out then I said yes" she said smiling.

I was a little disappointed because I knew who I.B truly was and I felt was up to something but that wasn't all; I wanted to ask her out but I was already beaten to it.

"Are you sure about this Avery?"

"Yes I am; I know you guys are not on good terms but try to tolerate him for my sake please??" She begged

"Okay" I agreed

At first I was angry with I.B amd I felt he knew exactly why but I just decided to let it go. After a few weeks I accepted the relationship and was on good terms with I.B until a tragic day.

"I can't believe he actually pulled it off with her; the most impossible task has been accomplished!" I heard from someone while others were laughing; I ignored it and continued my work. A few days later I saw Avery storming out of her classroom with tears in her eyes.

She looked so heartbroken and embarrassed and I was confused.

"What's up?" I asked

"I.B has finished me" she cried

"What? Tell me what happened"

She explained everything and I wanted to confront him out of anger but she stopped me and made me realize that no matter what I did it still wouldn't take away the video rather it would make things worse.

"I'll handle this don't worry; cheer up besides none of them would dare send it to the school authorities" (I hoped)

(At the male dormitory)

"Where's I.B!!!!!" I screamed

"I heard my name!" He said as he came to me

"God knows how much I want to punch you right now!" I shouted

"Then go ahead I'm not stopping you" he dared

I tried to calm myself down amd I humbly said

"Remove that video"

He was surprised but changed into a smirk "and what if I don't?"

"What do you want?" I asked

"Quite simple" he said

I knew it wasn't something good but I was ready to do it to clear her name.

Don't worry, its for my personal advantage amd I promise you all these videos would be gone but the evidence incriminating you would be gotten rid of on the day of graduation but if Avery found out what you did? The deal is off plus you both would get into trouble because I'll have the original video which also would be gotten rid of on the day of graduation. You know I'm the son of one of the most powerful people in the state; I know you guys also have powerful parents but your parents would never let you guys go off so easily" he said

"How am I sure I can trust you" I asked

"I am a guy of his word besides we're graduating soon; so of what use are they to me; whatever we do remains in the place" he said non challantly.
I was controlling myself and tried not to do anything stupid. He was a spoilt rich kid and Avery and I came from a family of strict wealthy parents. The stuff I was meant to do wasn't somethng i found difficult to do but was still shameful (to the victim and my conscience) and I was ready to do anything to help her. It was weird but I had to help out the only girl that understood me and most times helped me out of some situations.

"Okay I'll do it and its only both of us that know about it; deal?" I said

"You have my word" he said

I.B and I never got along in any manner; were either arguing, fighting or trying to kill each other. We almost got expelled but because of the influence of our families we were always pardoned but punished and I always got more punishment than he did.

It was difficult for Avery and me to keep our distance from him because she still liked him and it affected her badly. I couldn't even tell her I liked her because of that but those infactuations faded away when we both entered separate universities.

(Present day)

Me: Hey Babe

Loml👑💝💘: Hey, how was your chat with Avery?

Me: Not so good; I feel like she's keeping lots of things from me and its affecting me badly. I don't want any stupid incident like what happened a few years ago to repeat itself because she might not being able to recover this one.

Loml👑💝💘: Don't you think you're becoming overprotective? She isn't the same 14 year old Avery that was a heartbroken and traumatized human being that did some stupid things to avoid reality. She knows better now and I think you should trust her on this.

Me: I'll try😣 but thanks babe😘 I don't know what I'll do without you.

Loml👑💝💘: I know 😌 now goodnight I have carryovers tomorrow😂🤧.

Me: Goodnight love ❤

Maybe I needed to trust Avy's choices and see how things go.
