Like seriously, why on earth won't this world let me have a little peace of mind???

Unknown number: Well, I just wanted to talk to you and I have my  
                                      sources.

Me: Like seriously?
        You must really have the nerve to hit me up after what you did to                     
        me so many years ago

Unknown number: I know what I did was really wrong and I   
                                     really want to make up for it

Me: I.B a lot of years has passed and a lot has changed, do you
        seriously think the world revolves around you?? What do you
        did to me was unforgivable; I was always a topic for gossip  
        around school. I was classified as an extremely cheap girl  
        because of that stupid video. A stupid scene that was
        supposed to be private between us; something only both of us
        knew about that was intimate especially for someone like me.

Unknown number: I know and I'm seriously regretted putting you
                                     through all that. I seriously want to make it up
                                     to you and I'm ready to do anything to make     
                                     you forgive me. Avery Uduike, Ibufubara Erick
                                     Boma is going to make sure he truly makes it
                                     up to you. No matter how much I say this I'll     
                                     make sure of it.

Me: I.B, I am really busy at the moment and I don't have time for
        this conversation so can you please leave me alone I'm trying
        to concentrate.

I switched off my phone and out of frustration, I decided to go to bed. I was unable to sleep so I texted Ziri (God knows what I woild do without that guy). As an active night crawler he answered me on less than two minutes; which was weird.

Me: Weirdo???

Me: Its not a she this time and he texted me 😪

Me: It was I.B

Abnormal one🤧💝: WTF😡

Me: I know right? He texted me to say he was ''sorry''😪

Abnormal one🤧💝: Is that all he said ??

Me: He was telling me that he was going to do something many
        things in his power to make sure I forgive him
          What a guy😪

Abnormal one🤧💝: Such bravery, I guess he's forgotten how hard
                                       my punches were in secondary school and I
                                       need to remind him that he wouod have to
                                       pass through me to get to you.🗡🗡🔫

I put my phone to charge as I went to bed; smiling this time.

I woke up and got ready for work. I had a very weird feeling; I felt something was going to happen and it wouldn't end well but I shoved in that feeling and filled it with good vibes. I did my normal routine and went to work. Mia was not at work yet so I walked straight to the office, passing by my fellow colleagues; giving me their normal glares like always.

"Dear lord, I hope I don't get into any form of trouble today". I said to myself because I was really becoming anxious.

I got into the office and logged in and started going through my files to check for any error because I was feeling uneasy. Mia wasn't here yet so I had nobody to go to and Ziri was at work so that wouldn't be the right period to disturb him. I calmed myself down and started my office work.

My first two appointments were just pregnancy checkups and consultations so that took my mind off of things. Mia was unable to come to the office because she wasn't feeling too well.

I was done with my appointments but one of my colleagues (the boss of the famous gossip group) had to step out in a hurry but she had some unfinished work concerning the patients' reports so i helped her finish it. Everything was completed and organized when I left and I also helped her with one of her patients.

Zara  wasn't working that day so she didn't come.

My colleague returned after working hours and the manager had already left. Suddenly, I heard her scream in annoyance. Everybody rushed to the room to see what happened and she screamed "who on earth left my office in this state!!!" she asked with her face in fury. Her files were really disorganized and to a doctor orderliness really matters; it reduces frustration and a little stress when working. Someone suddenly said "Is it not the one and only Ave or Ava or whatever name it is; I saw her in your office going through your files and typing something into your System" she said with pride. "Avery, is that true" she asked me. I was a little scared of the angered  24 year old in front of me.

"Yes, but I-" 'Enough!!!' she screamed. "Do you know how much I hate it whenever someone messes up my things? I knew what she was going through and I tried to explain

"But that wasn't the way I left-

she intruded "If not you who else?? Tell me!!!  Everyone here saw how you were doing that good Samaritan job of yours at my office so tell me, what pushed you to do this"

"I said I didn't do it so watch it!" I said with anger in my eyes. "Then who did, you were clearly the last one . It's quite unfortunate a reputable hospital like this hired someone like you. All you spoilt rich kids think the world is all about you and you all think you can do any stupid thing you want without bearing the consequences. Wake up little lady, I don't care if your parents are the owners of this continent but you are not going out of this situation without bearing the consequences and I'll make sure you lose your job. I never liked you at the first place and you never deserved this job so I'll be more than happy to make sure you leave this place disgraced and embarrassed" she continued talking harshly as I stood there quietly angrily and embarrassed; hot tears dropping down my cheeks "People like you are reasons why this country isn't moving forward. I don't really blame you, I blame the human beings who conceived y- i slapped her hard on her cheek before she could finish that sentence. She tried slapping me back but I caught her hand and held it tightly enough to cause her pain while others were watching. They tried to intervene but I said loud and clear "Don't you dare come near us otherwise this would become worse than it already is".

I faced her with anger on my face "I stood here quietly listening to every single insult you had to say to my face. You can go to any extreme to insult me and I won't mind but don't you ever bring my parents into this; I have no idea who scattered your files but I know it definitely wasn't me. I only did you a favour by completing your records because the manager needed me to, and your so-called friends were too busy to help you out so I did it. You better watch what comes out from that mouth of yours because you know nothing about my upbringing; my parents have nothing to do with my employment here and don't you dare question or talk about the way they brought me up. It is quite unfortunate and sad that people like you still have the stupid mind set of we rich kids in Nigeria having so many privileges in the country and getting away with every single mischief we do. I honestly have nothing to say to you anymore, besides I've already stooped so low to your level and its killing me" I dropped her swollen hand as I walked out

"We would see if you would still be working here after tomorrow!!!" She screamed behind me but with fear in her voice.

I grabbed my handbag and got into the taxi that had arrived a few minutes ago. I was really frustrated at what just happened a few minutes ago...............................
