Alec’s POV

I was in a hurry and lost in thoughts;  I didn’t know when I bumped into someone making me scatter my files everywhere.

‘I’m so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going, she said as she quickly picked up my files from the floor.

‘No need to apologize it was an accident and I also wasn’t watching where I was going’ I said as I helped her get up and it was none other than Miss Avery.

‘Where are you going to in such a hurry this morning’ I asked

She felt so embarrassed then said something

‘I’m so sorry I was on my way to your office, and I was lost in thoughts before I accidentally bumped into you’ she said in a remorseful tune

‘It’s okay besides everyone makes mistakes’ I assured her.

‘Thank you’ she said as I told her to wait in my office while I dropped some files at the secretary’s office.

As I walked to the secretary’s office I started thinking of what just happened a few minutes ago; I had this feeling we had met somewhere but I just couldn’t recall. She also looked familiar but I just couldn’t remember who she reminded me of.

I quickly dropped the files, greeted Mia and went back to the office. ‘So Miss, what brings you here to my  office in such a hurry’ I asked her.

‘I’m so sorry for bothering you but I won’t be able to stay at work for long so I came to ask for your permission’ she said

‘What for’ I asked

‘I have a programme I need to attend that is really personal and important’ she said

It sounded a little suspicious to me

‘How important is this, cant it wait?’

The expression on her face was slightly funny because of the looks she gave me; she is definitely hiding something.

‘No sir it cannot, we were asked to be there before 4:30p.m; work closes by 4:00p.m and I don’t have much patients so I need your permission to allow me close early’

I was about to throw another question but the expression on her face showed that she was getting impatient so I dismissed her.

AVERY’s POV

This is his third week here and he’s already getting on my nerves;. For someone who sounded so sweet at the party he sure is curious in an annoying way.

I quickly got to my office to start my work when Mia came into my office and dropped some files on my table with a look on her face.

‘You look irritated’ she said

‘Your boss is annoying’ I said

She started laughing like crazy ( I’m not surprised why she and Ziri fell in love)

‘What did he do’ she asked

‘I went into his office to ask for permission to leave work earlier today’

‘And what did he do’ she asked

‘He was enjoying himself by annoying me’ I said

‘Isn’t that cute’ she said

I looked at her like she was crazy but continued from where I stopped

‘You needed to see the look on his face when he was asking those useless questions’

‘Seems like there’s love in that place’ she teased

‘Mia, why are these files here’ I asked quickly changing the subject

‘Way to spoil the moment, anyways YOUR BOSS asked me to give them to you to check them’

‘You’ve got to be kidding me’ I said with my hands on my face

‘I know right, it seems he doesn’t want to let you go so soon’ she smiled at me as she left the office’

‘What did I ever do in this life to deserve all these’ I said as I went through all the Files.

(2 hours later)

‘Sir, I am done with these’ I said as I dropped them on his table.

‘Thank you, when is your last appointment?’ he asked

‘By 2:00p.m, why do you ask?’

‘It’s nothing important but please can I see you after then’ he requested

‘Okay’ I said as I exited his office

‘Sir, I am done with my last appointment’ I said as I entered his office.

‘Good; I have an important work for you to do for me and Mr Umar approved of it since Mia is occupied and your colleagues still have other appointments I recommended you for the job’ he said

‘Okay sir, what is it?’

‘I need you to organize some files and type them into the computer system, there was an error in the last database containing those documents and they need to be done as soon as possible so that we can have accurate records of our patients’ he said

‘Can’t those on I.T do it?’ I asked

‘I don’t really know, I trust that you are more mature and you would do them better’ he said

‘But-’

‘Thank you, you may leave’ he said

I just ignored him and walked out angrily; didn’t he remember I needed to leave early today? And the work he gave made me wonder when I would actually finish them in time for me make it on time for the show. I quickly stopped grumbling and went to work immediately.

It took me some time to organize some files and I didn’t know how fast time went by

My phone suddenly rung and it was Idara

‘Hello’ I said

‘Dimma, don’t forget to be here before 5 and don’t worry the show starts by 7 so we’re doing our makeup and manicure here’ she said excited

‘Oh okay’ I said

‘Just pack up your clothes and bring them here, we don’t want anyone knowing what we’re wearing for the premiere’ she said

‘Okay, I’ll talk to you later I’m a little occupied, see you soon bye’

‘Bye; she hung up

I continued my work and realised it was 3:55p.m. I went to the manager’s office to tell him I would finish the work the next day.
I got in to see Christie in his office and he was nowhere in sight. She glared at me seriously then said the worst thing I could ever hear

‘Mr Kelenna left with Mr Umar for some things and they left me in charge so what do you want?’ she asked

‘I just wanted to ask him for permission to finish my work the next day’ I said

‘You really want to get on his bad side don’t you?’

‘No I don’t, I told him I was leaving early so I just wanted to remind him’

‘Don’t you think he might have forgotten or he might not have given you permission to go and if Mr Umar finds out you left work early and didn’t complete the work the new manager gave you he would be so disappointed in you and that would be two strikes’ she smiled

She had a point but I was going to be in a lot of trouble if I don’t arrive early.

‘Whatever’ I said as I left the office.

I got to my office and continued my work and because of the tension I wasn’t able to concentrate so I made multiple mistakes. I was really frustrated and I became really angry with the manager.

I suddenly heard a knock on my door and I saw Mia, Zara and a friend coming in.

Mia was shocked and asked ‘What happened?’

‘Our new honourable manager happened’ I said as i continued typing in the data.

‘Why did he give you all these when there are clearly interns here’ she asked

‘How would I know? And it happened to be on the day I needed to leave work early’ I said

‘Come, let’s help her’ Zara said

‘I’ll go and get my laptop while Zara and Mina help organize and arrange the rest of the files’ Mia said as she went to get her system.

In less than 40 minutes we were already done and everywhere was cleared.

‘Thank you guys so much; I owe you big time’ I said

‘It’s okay, we’ll discuss this later but you have somewhere to get to so hurry up’ she said as we all came out and left.

Zara, Mia and Mimi left in Mia’s car while I quickly drove off to the house.

I quickly had my bath, packed up my clothes, jewellery and cosmetics, quickly wore a pair of shorts, a big shirt and crocs and rushed to the car.

Happy New month guys I am so sorry I haven't updated in a while. December just begun and I just gained admission into the university💃💃💃💃!!!!!!!!! I just want to share my joy with you guys by posting this chapter.Thank you guys so much for your support.
