‘Arghhhh’ I groaned as I woke up to my annoying alarm. I was very tired and had not fully recovered from yesterday’s event and today wasn’t going to be favourable either.

I quickly got up and washed my face. I brought out the clothes I was going to wear this evening and I had to change my nail polish colour to avoid suspicions concerning what happened yesterday. I packed my hair down to wear a wig for decency. I  quickly dressed up and went to work.

When I got to work what I heard was what I least expected and I felt pleased and full of pride when I knew it was about my  popular personality.

‘Was I the only one that enjoyed that show yesterday?’ Rebecca said

‘Is it DOING IT WITH THE DJs?’ asked Sarah

‘Obviously, did you see their outfits??? That is what I call dope’. Rebecca said

‘I loved DJ IDA and DJ AIVY they’re both hyperactive and I'm suspecting those hosts’ she continued

‘The show just started yesterday and you’ve started drawing into conclusions’ Christie said

‘What’s this one’s problem this morning?’ Sarah asked

‘Nothing I just don’t know why you guys are overhyping that stuff’

‘Is this Christie? Who offended you?’ Rebecca asked

‘Nothing oh I just need sleep’ she said

‘But did you like the show yesterday?’ Sarah asked

‘It was okay’ Christie answered

‘Who did you like the most?’ Rebecca asked

‘The male host’ the said non challantly

‘What of the females?’

‘DJ AIVY was the most appealing and I’ll be at my office if you need me’ she said as she stood up and walked towards the door and that was my cue to leave.

I was walking briskly till I accidentally bumped into the last person I thought of seeing.

‘I’m so sorry’ I said as I quickly walked out without looking him in the eye.

Alec’s POV

I walked briskly to the office and I didn’t know when I bumped into Avery.

‘I’m so sorry’ she said as she quickly left without looking me in the eye like we weren’t on good terms.

I ignored it and quickly went to the office. After settling down I brought out the old phone and SIM card I took from Chizzy and quickly set it up. I was having double thoughts while installing apps on it. After creating new accounts I didn’t go through with it so I started scrolling through the comments from yesterday.

I couldn’t help but smile at the comments until I was interrupted by the secretary.

‘Good morning sir, am I interrupting anything?’ she asked

‘No, come in, how was your night?’ I answered

‘It was good and yours sir?’ she asked

‘It was okay just slept later than usual’

‘Oh okay’ she said as she dropped some files and walked towards the door.

‘Mia’

‘Yes sir’

‘Between us you don’t have to be so formal, you can call me Kelenna’ I said as I flashed a smile

‘Okay’ she said as she smiled back

Suddenly I heard another knock

‘Come in’

Avery walked into the office with the work I asked her to do yesterday as she dropped them on my desk and walked out briskly till I called her

‘Are you alright?’ I asked

‘Don’t mind me sir I’m not myself she said trying to avoid eye contact’

‘Nice manicure by the way’ I said as her face flushed then forcefully hid it

‘Thank you’ she said as she walked out.

‘Women’ I said as I continued my work

Avery’s POV

‘Finally’ I said as I quickly stepped out of the office and bumped into Mia.

‘I’m so sorry’ I quickly said as I helped her get up.

‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me today’ I said

‘Maybe you have a lot on your mind that you need to talk to someone about’ she smiled

‘It’s break time and Zara won’t be available today’ she smiled at me as we both went to get lunch

‘I don’t know what came over me it’s like a completely different personality took over because I couldn’t recognize myself’ I said as we both had our lunch.

‘Did Ziri talk to you yesterday?’ she asked

‘Yes he did but I was too exhausted to talk to him so he would have to wait till this weekend to catch up’ I said

‘Or we can call him now and have the conversation’ she suggested

‘Oh okay, that s if he’s free’ I said

‘Oh he is’ she said as she video called him

After two rings he picked up

‘My Babe misses me already’

‘Please don’t start I’m next to her’ I interrupted him

‘Oh hi Avy’ he said a little disappointed but happy to see me

‘Thank God you called I’ve never been so bored in my life’ he said

‘Why didn’t you go to work?’

‘I had to run some errands and what made you guys call me?’

‘Avery here has some updates on her social life and we didn’t want to leave you behind so we called’

‘For starters we’re both aware that our boss is the guy Avery had quick chemistry with on Friday’

‘Wait what?’ Ziri asked in shock

‘Yes’ Mia laughed as she continued explaining

‘And we’re both aware of the new show Avery’s second personality is part of’

‘Good, now we’re up to date’ Mia said

‘He’s so annoying and frustrating’ I groaned

‘You need to be specific because I know I have those qualities’ Ziri said

‘Oh, I meant our new boss and Mia knows why’

‘Why am I the only lost one in this conversation’ Ziri said as Mia laughed

‘I’ll explain for your sake Ziri’ I said

‘I asked to be dismissed early from work after my appointment. He was hesitant at first; and said I could come back after my appointments then he gave me all manner of work to do. I got pissed off when he gave me unnecessary work to do when there were interns available for the job. When it was a few minutes to closure I went to his office and he had already gone leaving Christie in charge. Christie advised I finished the work to avoid problems with my new boss and I had no choice than to do it. I was lucky Mia, Zara and Mimi were around to help out.’ I said angrily

‘Have you thought of talking to him?’ Ziri asked

‘No and I don’t plan on doing so’ I said in defence

‘When will you stop being so stubborn’ he said

‘I’m not I don’t want him to think I love seeking favours or I’m taking advantage of the fact he is the new manager that’s Christie’s work not mine’ I said

‘You’re choice’ he said

‘Anyways you made me proud yesterday'

‘Port Harcourt for life Baby’ I screamed

‘Yes oh’ he said as we both laughed

‘No need to spoil the moment but we’re the only ones aware of your secret but popular life so reduce your voices to avoid stares’ she said

‘Oh yeah’ I said

By 3:00p.m I was done with my appointments so I went to the manager’s office with a letter stating why I needed to be dismissed early to avoid much communication.

‘Good afternoon sir, please I would like to be dismissed early’ I said as I gave him the letter.

He gave me a weird look then ‘Make sure you complete the rest of the paperwork I’ll send to you through your email’ he said

‘Okay sir’ I said as I walked out.

I went to the hotel immediately to get ready. I wore a one shoulder black skin tight top covering my right arm and my birthmark then a wore a red skin tight mini skirt within knee length bringing out my curves.

My hair was done my nails were painted red and my makeup was on point then I wore my black stiletto heels to match.

‘Looking hot babe’ Idara said as she walked into the room.

‘Thanks dear’ I said as I carefully put on my contacts.

The show like yesterday was a success and so was the rest of the week.

Alec’s POV

These past weeks have been hectic but I’ve been able to adjust to the work hours thanks to Christie. Avery has been acting weird but I didn’t really mind that much because of what Christie tells me although it’s suspicious whenever she leaves work early all of a sudden.

I was able to get myself a brand new Toyota jeep and Chizzy and I both bought a 4 bedroom duplex in Boma’s Residential Area.

I got to see so many places in Abuja and visit my grandparents. I also formed a bond with the interns at the office.

Avery’s POV

As the weeks passed I got used to the late night shows and parties and one would say I became famous overnight. My official Instagram account was created and it had thousands of followers. As for Mr Kelenna, I wasn’t really happy with him but I was able to hide my feelings and keep things professional.

As for DOING IT WITH THE DJs the show went viral and had over 1 million views during a live stream because famous artistes and celebrities were featured in the show.

Being famous has its ups and downs; I’ve received a lot of critics like what I wear and I was accused of being fake by doing various forms of plastic surgery; I don’t take them seriously but sometimes they just go too far. I’ve formed a strong bond with Idara and Allan and I’ve introduced them to Ziri and Mia. Our friendship has grown stronger since then.

Ziri and Mia’s relationship has grown these few weeks and I know Ziri is going to pop the question anytime but I feel he had something else up his sleeve.

These weeks have been tolerable and I hope it remains that way.
