   In this world, collecting pins is the key to survive, once everyone turns a year old, they get a catalog to store their pins. You're able to access your catalog anywhere and anytime. The more pins you gather, the higher your class will be, Z- being the lowest A+ being the highest. Along with the catalog, other people have the ability to view other people's class. If your class is fairly low, you're not allowed to attend university nor get a high paying job. In the generation this story takes place, people will do anything for pins, even going to certain point of illegal action, murder, rape, robbery.
