I sipped my hot chocolate as my parents drank coffee. A big round table was in front of me, puzzle pieces scattered about in a mess. Dad grabbed two pieces of the big puzzle, attached them together, and connected them to the right upper-corner of the jungle picture. The pieces Daddy added had all the lines, shades, and colors matched correctly.
We continued to match the pieces together, until a scream shattered our peaceful moment. A scream I recognized as a girl's yet to hit puberty.
Curious to know where it came from, I looked back at my mom. Her beauty was obvious, the waves of light blonde, the crystal blue white of her eyes. She, however, was oblivious to the sound; she smiled and laughed, she pick and placed pieces.
My eyebrows furrowed as my confusion deepened. I looked to my father, as he opened his mouth. I could see the movement of his lips and tongue as silent words were spoke. I heard nothing but the screaming, slowly getting louder.
My body tensed as I grew nervous. Did I lose my hearing? Are they tricking me? I started to ask and no sound came out. My panic grew, I started to breath heavy. Why can't I talk?
The screaming grew to bounce off the walls, to vibrate the table, to pulse through my body, and to not be ignored. Something's not right.

I stood from my chair and my arms doubled, one translucent pair and one solid pair. I stepped to the side and back a few steps. At the table sat my mom, my dad, and a little girl version of me.
"It's not real." I realized. "This isn't real!" I shouted angrily. The little scream got louder and louder. "Anna!!" She screamed. Panic rushed through my body and my heart pounded in my ears.
"MYLI!!!" I screamed. The memory in front of me froze and like a window, a small crack crossed the scene. In seconds the crack grew and grew till the memory shattered and sharp glass was thrown my way, cutting and slicing my skin.
I closed my eyes and the pain stopped and Myli's screams got louder and louder until it sounded right in front of me. I snapped my eyes open and saw three Myli's running towards me with tears streaming down her face. Soon they merged into one.
"Myli!" I meant to shout, but it came out raspy. Suddenly, I heard heavy footsteps on the stairs and I smelt blood. Lots of it, and it wasn't mine.
Three people appeared at the bottom of the stairs, they looked around, shocked at the scene. Two guys and a woman. They were young.
I saw and smelt the blood on them, they're after Myli! "Myli!" Her head snapped to me. Her face was covered in tears and some blood, which was thankfully not hers.
"Get behind me." I pushed my body forward as much as I could. There was a little space between me and the wall for Myli to sit in.
"No, you're already hurt!" She shouted standing between the people and I.
As one of the men moved forward, I pulled on the cuffs hoping they would break. "No!! Myli!" She ignored me. I pulled as hard as I could and the chain connecting to cuffs broke with a clink. I fell forward and pushed Myli to the wall behind me. I felt my heart pounding like a cheetah, I could feel the distant stinging of pain, and I was scared.
The group seemed surprised. "Anna!! No, you're already hurt!" Myli shouted behind me.
"Myli, stay back!" I growled with power to my voice. The man paused. He was what Kimmy would call 'hot'. In fact, both boys were but that's not the point.
"It's okay. We won't hurt you. We want to help." The one in the middle said. I watched as he crept forward slowly. His hair was a curly brown mop and he was definitely strong, you could see the muscles bulging through his t-shirt.
"Stay back!" I yelled, as my eyes scanned for a weapon. I turned up dry and watched the people in fear. Myli whimpered behind me and I put my hand behind me to hold her hand.
"They killed them." She sobbed. "They killed everyone." I gasped softly.
"Shhh... It's okay. You're safe now. We wont hurt you. Come here." They ushered gently.
"What do you want!?" I shouted, with tears running down my face. I failed to find an escape route.
"To get you somewhere safe." He promised. The woman scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Let's hurry this up, she's not going to come." She pulled out a small gun and pointed it at me. I heard people scream in protest as I felt a sharp pain in my chest, followed by my stomach. My vision blurred and started to turn. I groaned as I collided with the floor and closed my eyes.
The last thing I heard was Myli's scream.
