The group seemed to have gone back to disliking Erika dispite last night. Ponch found himself riding next to the blonde yet again and becoming more iritated than ever.
Deep down he knew it was only jealousy. Jealousy over the fact she was rich and famous and because she was so highly recommended by the academy. Something he'd never really been.
He looked at Erika. She sat with her back straight and in silence. Why does she think she's so much better Ponch ranted to himself.
A plain semi truck raced by at about seventy mph. Ponch motioned for Erika to stay back but then saw she was already ahead of him. Alarm raced through his veins as he pictured what a speeding semi could do to a 102 pound officer when it met 800 pounds of motorcycle.
Officer Poncherello forced the motor to catch up as the truck swerved just inches away from her front tire. "Come on baby hang in there" Ponch said to the motor.
Erika didn't have any intentions of slowing. The instinct to chase was set in stone for her and she had a plan.
"Erika! Slow down and give up the chase! Now!" Ponch barked angrily over the radio. Erika blinked in suprise but pulled over letting the semi quickly slink away.
Ponch screeched to a stop and jumped off his motor setting a quick pace to the rookie. He pulled at his helmet strap and flicked off his sunglasses.
His eyes betrayed his rage and fear as he stared down at Erika. "What happened? Wha-" "What do you think you were doing out there!" Frank shouted. She stared at him in suprise. "I-"
"You were being dumb!"
"I knew what I was-"
"You could have gotten someone hurt or killed! A good officer would never do something so stupid. I suggest you get your act together because right now I don't think you have what it takes to be a cop at all!"
Lasky could do nothing but stare as hot tears started gather in her baby blues. He's right Erika thought in anguish at herself I'm never going to make it at the CHP. But not at all? Why bother then!
"I'll... pack up when we get back then." Erika whispered. Frank looked taken aback but before he could respond the deafening blare of the semi truck's horn blasted through the air. The last thing either of them saw was the wide grill of the truck.
