Chapter 3

Jungkook's P.O.V.

So that girl's name is Chimin...

To the fact that Chimin purposely avoided me this morning, which I considered rude because I am her soon to be husband. Why would she avoid the heir of this mansion?

That lead the way for me to forgot her face. I am completely a busy person especially when I'm in this shitty place called school.

All of my teachers make me feel like I'm in hell. Not because I'm a top honor student, it doesn't mean those teachers can torture me unlike those spoiled delinquents which are the students there.

I go to an expensive and the most exclusive school in Seoul yet I get to have a ton of homework and projects every single week.

Well it doesn't matter if I do it or not anyway, I still get the highest grades.

And because of that, just like what I said, I totally forgot my bride— I mean Chimin's features especially her face. So right now, I have to rush on my room, get my bag back in it and ask help with my parents.

Also, noona didn't got to tell us who Chimin really was because she got a call from her fiancé, Hoseok.

Noona is usually the person who mostly recognize the maids and the butlers in our house. I know that my parents know about who Chimin was but they didn't bother telling me in the morning.

I don't know why did they do that although I kept asking almost everything about her. That's the reason why I am going to their home office.

They told me that they're gonna tell me when I got back from school so that's the reason why I am also heading there.

I also need to know who really that maid is.

"Eomma," I knocked on the door, hearing a 'come in' before I come inside the room. Mom and appa are holding files as usual and a secretary is inside with them too.

"Oh Jungkookie! My dear son is home!" Mom giggled, both dad and I rolled our eyes with a smile of her being dork again.

"Yah! You two should stop rolling those big eyes of yours or I'll gauge them out!" But somehow, she's eventually a scary person as well but I take that personality of hers as a funny one.

"Honey, calm down. We still have something to tell him about Chimin, right?" Dad tries to calm him down, making Mom's expression to change in a second and nodded in agreement.

"Bora, can you leave us for now please?" Mom asks their secretary, she bows to us in response and left the room.

I sat on the chair across their desk and they smiled, I actually am clueless of what kind of smile they are showing.

"So Jungkookie," mom started, "Were you able to find Chimin?" She asks and I groaned in the memory back then.

Oh well, I sent her the flowers but I was an idiot not being the one to give it to her instead of Jin hyung. I think I just lost a big chance.

"No," I answered, making bith of them to be really surprised. "I was too busy in the whole day at school, I did not get a chance in the morning too."

"That's good." Appa says, did he just say that? That's good? What the fuck is good?!

"Did you made her avoid me?!" This has something to do with them!

"Of course not." Appa chuckles as

"Your appa and I planned about not letting you get married easily." Eomma tells me in surprise.

Shoot, I did not that coming. "What plan are you talking about? Mom, I want that maid!" I demanded and she shakes her head in disagreement.

"I know that all of our maids are well didaciplined, smart, and young/young-looking pretty ladies. But why did you suddenly picked Chimin as your bride?" Appa asks and I look over to him.

"I found her interesting." I was straight forward as I said that.

"That's what I thought." Eomma chuckles, "So do your father and I, we found you interesting as well."

My eyebrows knitted together when she said that. Found me interesting?

"We've been really planning this for the whole day and we decided to hide Chimin from you." My eyes widened from what they are just saying right now.

They're gonna take her away from me?!

"What do you mean hide?!"

"It's not like we're gonna take her in a dungeon and make you save her." Mom chuckles but I remained in disbelief.

I also thought of that one...

"You're gonna find her yourself." I clicked my tongue when dad told me that, of course I will.

But there's no way they can hide her, I heard that Jin hyung is close to her so I can ask for his help.

"But Jin's not helping you out." I groaned, why does eomma always looks like she can read my mind?!

"How are you suppose to hide her?"

"Well, our family usually have this tradition." Dad states, now that he mention it, I already know what that tradition is.

"The Siendèrella?"

"Yes." I knew it.

Siendèrella, it's a tradition which started back in 1950. My greatest grandmother started that tradition ever since the film Cinderella came out. Only a part of the Jeon's family knows this tradition very well and no one else does this besides our family.

The cycle of this tradition, the son of the family, either he's oldest or not and he's turning 18, if he got interested of marrying a maid then his parents will eventually make him forget her face complete, if he only saw her once.

Which is a usual event towards the son, like me. I actually forgot her face, that is really annoying.

A ball will be set up after a month, meaning that the son will actually have time to get clues about who is his bride will be. I don't know how the clues will come but it's already up to my parents, to my bride or it's just gonna be fate.

This tradition just sounds stupid to me actually. Wanna know why?

Simple, I was never been in love before.

Bu then this day came into my life, then I meet this maid named Chimin. I don't she is, but I got interested in her for some reason.

Her blurred blushing face (since I can't clearly remember), she's an alert one actually.

I might cannot recall her face, but I can remember her voice. It was so feminine and soft the way she squeaked out as she apologized to me this morning.

She got me interested of making her as my bride, Chimin made me want to know her more.

I think she's different among all of the maid.

So anyways, this tradition that I am saying. Yeah it sounds damn stupid for me but most of the sons who went under this tradition successfully found their bride of the maid they fell in love with.

More like they were saying that, they found the love of their life?

It makes me curious though, will I even be able find her too? Since I don't know her at all, and no one's sure if she's really my love of my life.

That's why the tradition also makes me want to prove that it can have false result.

Just because I got interested in her, it doesn't mean that Chimin is really the love of my life. And I think they're using this tradition to prove it.

"Jungkook?" Dad snaps me back to reality.

Ugh, I almost forgot that I'm still talking to them in the office.

"I have a lot of homework to do, let's talk again in weekend instead." I excused myself to them and stood up.

They also did as I do and eomma crosses her arms, grinning at the same time. I know where this is going, that grin means a challenge.

"Good luck, finding her tonight, or tomorrow morning." Mom tells me when I twisted the doorknob. I'm pretty sure that they might have something to do behind that line.

I exited the room, fastening my walk slightlyalong the corridor. Having any ideas of how I can find her easily, I'm sure that there's someone who I can ask for help.

My sister.

Not sure if she could help, I have to contact her as soon as possible for clues. Mom and dad might have involved her in this stupid tradition (Siendèrella) but I am guessing that she can be one of my clues.

"Ladies! All of the maids gather up at the maid dorms!" A certain maid yells and I stopped walking when I'm in the middle of the dining room.

The maids are dispersing on their own ways. Most are obviously clueless about what's going on.

It's starting.

Well, no one said I can't look around right?

Being a motormouthed is out of my personality. Asking maids won't do anything to me, I hesitate talking to those maids. They are all beautiful but I can't stand them. Don't make me talk to everyone unless it's someone close to me, like Jin-hyung.

I rather watch out for the one I'm looking for.

"What could noona call us for?" A random maid snickers strangely and looks around. She's facing her back as well as everyone but I know who I can hear.

I am actually on a hidden spot the main quadrangle of the dorm of these maids. My visions are crystal clear as they roam around the area with maids.

"I don't know, it was strange." Another one tells the one who just asked a question. The distance between them and me is just near.

A maid comes out from the dorm, I suspect that it's the one who called out for everyone, making her to catch their attention before turning out quiet.

"The heir is turning 18 in few months." She starts, "Mr. And Mrs. Jeon wants us to get prepared for an upcoming ball."

I rolled as everyone starts to chitchat about the "lucky girl" they say. As if that girl is lucky though.

Obviously, I think Chimin is the only one who knows that she's that girl. If she told someone then I don't know anymore. But they don't know and that's what I know.

The head maid hushes them to be quiet again and speaks up, "All of you are prohibited to spread any information to the heir..." As she talks, a vibration on the left pocket of my pants disrupts.

Someone is calling me at this hour.

"Yeoboseyo?"

"Jeon Jungkook, what on earth do you want from me?" Noona growls from the line and I smirked.

I sent a text to her a blackmail a while ago, and it looks like it's working, "I need your help to find Chimin."

"Jungkook you shouldn't be blackmailing your sister just to ask for some help! You should have called me instead!" She yells.

"If I tried to call you, you're just gonna decline it." I stated which end her speechless. "So, are you gonna help?"

"No, of course I'm not gonna help!"

"So I'm gonna tell my and dad right away then?" I warned to her, my eyes converting to the maids on facing their slim backs on me.

"Just because you can easily tell mom and dad that I'm storing a lot of BL novels on my office, it doesn't mean that I'm helping you out." She whispers the middle part of her sentence. Aish, why does she always got me in the corner?

"Fine, don't help out. Give me a clue then."

I hear her groaned from the line, "Chimin lent me her beanie before but I didn't used it. I haven't return it to her so maybe it will help you to remember her scent."

Having her mention the scent, I would look perverted if she's making me remember her scent.

"Are you serious?" I bluntly said.

"You love sweet scents yet you don't like the scent of women's clothes." Is her side comment.

"Candles and perfumes that I collect are different to women's clothes."

"Whatever, Hoseok's coming over to have dinner with us. I'm heading home with him also so I have to hurry up and finish my work."

"So?"

"Are you accepting this clue or not?!" She sounds irritated yet it doesn't do anything to me.

But I guess I should accept it after all, she might have a good smell right?

"Fine."

"I'll give to you later when I got home. Do your homework for now. Take care, bye!" And she hangs up the call.

Hoseok hyung's coming over again like last week. I hate to say this but he's not the man that I want my sister to marry.

Jung Hoseok, that's his full name. He's the son of our mom's best friend, Mr. Jung. Their family own a powerful company as well, he's the co-CEO of his father. He have a twin brother which is obviously my cousin's friend, Hobi-hyung.

I don't like him for her because marrying someone like him because it's too risky. Hoseok-hyung is a top secret agent of their another undercover company that they also own.

She got engaged to him because our parents wants their family's protection to protect us more as well.

"Young master?" I onto my senses again and Jin-hyung ends up on my back.

"Hyung,"

"Why are you here?" He asks and I sighed.

"I'm looking for Chimin." And knowing what should have been my parents are planning.

"Let's get you changed in your comfortable clothes. We don't want you to get scolded from trespassing in the maid's dormitory are." He says and he grabs me by my back and pushes me back to the mansion as we walk.

"Hyung, you're really not planning on helping me up?" I asked him and he shakes his head.

"I can't disobey to your parents' commands Jungkook, especially when you're about to marry someone."

This is hopeless, alright I'll pick up the beanie later. As we go back, I heard tapping footsteps. Maids went back to their work when I'm already near my room.

"So fast..." I thought. Maybe they noticed us at their dormitory quadrangle minutes ago.

Noona must be home anytime soon, I should just pick it up later after dinner from her.

~~~~~
"Hyung, can you do this all for me?" I asked Jin-hyung who's standing beside me.
"Are you trying to escape your homework?" He asks back and he raises his eyebrow. "Or you're trying to sneak out to find someone?"
"I'm not sneaking out. How am I suppose to do that?" Besides, my room is like my house. My outside world is our mansion.
And school is my hell.
"I'm being too busy so how am I suppose to find her?" He didn't answer me, instead, he made me stand up and we switched position. Surround me with confusion, what is he doing?
"You want to find Chimin right?" He questions, not facing me and he's all focused on my math homework.
A bit flustered from what he said, I can be so thankful right now for having him as my personal butler. "Hyung,"
"I'm gonna cover it up for you, you're father told me not to give you any clues or tell what Chimin looks like. You're the one to pick your decisions of finding out who she is." He says and I nodded.
"Thanks hyung, I owe you a lot." I patted his back, a smile from him curves and he chuckles.
"You better." He says, "Now go save your princess."
I just shrugged it off and exited my room. Wondering what should I do, I am having glances sticking on me and mostly they're from the maids.
"Could it me?" Someone asks, I kept walking as I hear their voices.
"How I wish to be the heir's wife." Another one whispers.
"He's getting more and more handsome."
"I'm sure it's me!"
Hearing their sentences makes me want to get out of this house. This is what I hear every time I got out of my room. About myself. Most of the maids are immersed of my appearance, I like being complimented but I don't want it to be often as if I am a prince.
It's also the reason why Chimin caught my attention, she made me even more interested in her because I heard from someone somewhere that she's not into anyone like any other maids in here.
Girls from in public especially in the school is also the same. It feels like I'm an animal in a zoo when all of the attention are into me.
And also, they name me as someone else. The heir, young master, golden prince, anything. But they don't call me by my name, Jungkook.
"Most of us encountered the heir that day, but who could the lucky girl?" A maid caught my attention of their conversation.
"I-I'm not really sure..." I sat on the sofa in the middle of the dining table and pretended that I am reading an article in wikipedia.
"Could it be you?" Their voices are fading but I can still hear them.
"Maybe not, t-there must be someone is so much better than me." It's a bit weird for a maid to stutter her voice.
Wait, the voice seems familiar. Don't tell me she's— no, I still need to make sure. I need to listen a little further.
"Let's just go, we need some chores to finish!" The stuttering maid says behind my back.
"My friend, you don't need to be shy to the heir." The other maid teases.
"I'm not." The familiar voice says and it keeps fading as they speak every word.
"Oh come on Chimin, you'll look good together!" She almost exclaims but the voice is fading away already.
CHIMIN!
When I turned around, they already disappeared. That took me easily to slam my phone in anger.
YOU STUPID BODY, YOU'RE NOT REALLY LETTING ME FIND CHIMIN TOO AREN'T YOU?!
"Oppa?" a little figure comes out that made me to calm immediately.
"Jungyeon," I should be careful next time, I almost forgot that I have a little sister. "Did you  get a star again?"
"Yes!" She yells, "And I even learned how to make a paper plane! Try it out!"
Giggles and her hand rises, showing me off her pink paper plane.
"That's good." I simply complement her.
"Isn't it pretty?" She asks and I nod when she hands me the paper plane with personalized designs by her.
"Yeah," and I throw the paper so that it flews gently in the air.
Jungyeon picks it up again and she gives it to me again, "It's my gift for you!" She says with all smiles.
"A gift?"
"Yeah!" She giggles again, "Belated happy birthday!"
"That's advanced happy birthday, Jungyeon." I chuckled as I corrected her. "Thanks for the gift, oppa will cherish it a lot."
"I also told Chimin unnie about it!" She says, my eyes perfectly dilated when I heard Chimin's name again.
"Jungyeon! You need to wash now!" Her personal maid calls out from upstairs and she looks back to it before me again.
"Coming Haesoo unnie!" She yells back, "Bye oppa!" She waves at me and I waved back.
It's nice to have a little sister, but no wonder it's not nice to have an older one.
"JEON JUNGKOOK! I'M HOME MY DEAR BROTHER!" My annoying noona calls out from the main entrance door.
I only need to get that beanie from her but what is she up now? She's so hyped once again.
The door flies open when the butlers open it, noona and Hoseok hyung is what I see. Oh right, it's because her beloved fiancé is here again.
Don't judge, I like Hoseok hyung around as well. He's a cool person but being my sister's fiancé is a different issue.
Minrin noona really like Hoseok hyung yet I am not sure if he does the same. Hyung is much more busier than noona and it's always been my sister who approaches him.
Sometimes I doubt that he really agreed getting engaged to her since they're childhood friends.
"Are you sure I did not bother you? I think you still have work when I called you while ago." She asks Hoseok hyung.
"It's okay, you want me to have dinner with you." He answers cooly and smiles at her with a small one.
I feel like a third wheel watching them as they walk towards me.
"Wait, I need to give my brother something." She says when she finally noticed me watching them here like an idiot. "Hey Jungkook."
"Let's go." I walk first to her room and didn't want to look back.
"Hey, wait for me you big head."
We left behind Hoseok hyung, he's just standing there frozen as he does a work, probably, on his phone.
On our way, I can't help myself to question their 15 years of their on going engagement. They got engaged when they were 9 years-old.
"Are you still gonna marry him?"
"Jungkook," she's gonna
"Noona, I don't want him for you."
"But I love him." She seriously said and I didn't speak for seconds.
She's always like this, so stubborn and foolish to someone who doesn't clearly love her.
"And if you're not happy with it, just please let me decide what I want and who I need?" I sighed, she's really hopeless.
"Just give that damn beanie." Talking about Hoseok hyung or something will just make it worst.
She looks at me in relief before she could finally go inside her room to get the beanie. It sounds useless for me to take a piece of clothing but I have no choice.
When noona comes back, the beanie is in her hands and she handed it to me. "Here."
One second when I finally
Chimin's beanie is color red, the woven fabric has it's own scent already. It looks so normal yet it feels so special somehow.
What does this Chimin has? She makes me flutter although I only smell her strong floral scent.
"Did you spray your perfume here?" I suspiciously asks, making her to almost hit me.
"As if I will," she angrily says, "you're my brother and I don't want to be your Cinderella."
I rolled my eyes in response, "Thanks, it'll be a big help."
"Are you mocking the clue I gave you?" She asks in a warning tone.
"No," I answered shortly. "Is Chimin the only one who wears something like this?" I ask.
Because, it's rare to see our maids to wear beanies causally when they go out of the mansion. All of them are feminine from what I know.
Noona hums before she talks again, "I think she is, butlers are the ones I usually see who wear a beanie when they go out." She stated.
If that's how it is, maybe I can use this to evoke Chimin to come to me.
