Chapter 4
I unlocked the door with shaking hands, keys jingling between my fingers. I felt nervous, sad. I shuffled inside and took my shoes off, going upstairs to the attic, where I grabbed my suitcase.
I laid it on the bed together with my sports bag, starting with putting my neatly folded clothes in the bag. I didn't have much, some dress shirts, my school uniform and jeans and shirts. I was rarely dressed in casual clothes, mom and dad desired me to look formal for their richer 'friends', so I either wore my school uniform or a dress shirt and a pantalon. I sighed and tried to cram in my sports clothes as well, struggling to close the bag.
Next were the rest of my items, my laptop, pictures, chargers, and more. I pushed on the top of the hard suitcase, trying to get it all in the large suitcase, ending up having to put the rest in my old backpack.
It reminded me of how I had left my backpack at the buss station yesterday. I was so stupid. I would need to go to the police station later, maybe someone submitted it there. I could count myself lucky I always kept my keys and wallet in my pockets.
I didn't have many belongings anyway, my room was neat and nearly empty, mom made me throw away unnecessary things, even if they held memories for me. Countermanding them wasn't an option, it'd only worsen everything, so I gave up on that long ago.
I looked around and bit my lip. This was the room I've been living in for the past 10 years. I ran a hand over the carvings I had hid in my closet, small lines drawn with pen. From measuring my height when I was younger.
I had always strived to be as tall as dad, but in the end I haven't surpassed him, the difference a mere inch. I chuckled to myself, guess I wasn't going to grow anymore now.
The door closed behind me as I walked out, carrying all my possessions with slight difficulty. Hoseok stepped out of the car and helped me put them in the back. We drove to his house, where auntie was sitting on the couch with Kwanwook in her arms. We quickly dumped my bags in the guest room.
"Why can't you bring him to an orphanage?" Hoseok asked me. I shook my head.
"I won't, we all know how orphanages are now, they're full and can barely take care of the kids in it, I wont put him in there, he doesn't deserve that" I shook my head.
"What about school?" We walked downstairs.
"I only have 3 more weeks to go, then I'll graduate. I'll continue, while taking care of Kwanwook" I shot Hoseok a smile. "Don't worry I'll be fine, and he's too cute to give away"
"You're too soft Jimin" Hoseok shook his head but smiled as well, swinging his arm around my neck and dragging me inside the living room to sit on the couch.
"He's really sweet, a quiet one this guy, much unlike Hoseok, who wouldn't stop crying the entire night" Auntie teased, making Hoseok pout. She handed me Kwanwook carefully.
I smiled at the baby, who was looking at me curiously. My finger softly ran over his cheek and he giggled, the cute smile melting my heart.
"Look hyung, he's giggling" I showed Hoseok, who started making funny faces. But it seemed like little Wookie was startled by Hoseok as he started crying.
"Yah, look what you did" I tried to make Wookie stop crying.
"I cant help my beautiful face is too much for him to handle" Hoseok scoffed playfully.
"You mean too ugly" I grinned. I rocked the child in my arms and soon he fell asleep, mumbling incoherent sounds.
"You'd make a good parent you know" Hoseok smiled. I just shrugged.

"Thank you for taking care of Wookie and I" I bowed before auntie and uncle.
"It's nothing, you're always welcome, you're like our second son" auntie smiled. I nodded and watched as they climbed back into the car, driving away from the scene.
I turned around, pushing the small baby blue pram with Wookie to the front door of my new apartment and stood there for a few seconds, hesitating to open it. I was curious as to what was behind it.
Three weeks ago, before I found Wookie, I would've never had guessed it'd turn out like this. But I had gotten myself an apartment, a shared one, where I could live until I had enough money for an actual house.
It was tricky, taking care of little Wookie while trying to find a job. So I finally settled on a low payjob, which I could mostly do at home. It wasn't spectacular, only taking care of the finances of a couple of small companies, but it paid the bills so it was fine.
I shook myself from my thoughts and rang the doorbell. After a minute or so it opened, revealing a handsome boy, shirtless nonetheless.
"Oh, u-uhhm" I stuttered. "I'm Jimin, are you my roommate?"
"Oh right! Come in" the boy stepped aside, not taking his gaze off the baby in the pram besides me.
"I'm Taehyung, and who's that cutie?"
